Excellent warranty
I purchased a set of Tojiro knives in 2021. Last month (August, 2025) one of them developed a crack in the spine.
I emailed Knives From Japan and they asked me to send the knife back for inspection. Shortly after they told me that their warranty is only valid for two years, but that they would send me a new knife anyways.
Just received them last week.
I'm amazed by the service and definitely recommend kfj to anyone.
Service & Supply could not have been better
I queried the description of a product on their website and a full and clear response was emailed back to me within 24 hours. My order of a Horl 3 sharpener was delivered within 24 hours and is absolutely perfect. Thanks to the team at Knives From Japan, I hope to deal with you again soon.

Knives from Japan - website and store
I have to say I visited there store after calling them as I had some questions. I spoke to two different members of staff, both had amazing knowledge and I was shocked at how well they understood my issues and questions. Following this I thought I have to go and see these guys as well and I was very very happy I did- there store is amazing full of all types of Japanese knives and I spent almost an hour there but it’s worth it - the staff are knowledgable helpful and helped me to select the exact items I needed - I loved the entire experience - I would recommend that if you live in London you visit them if not you can order online - I placed an order a few days ago online and it was with me super quick - these will be my go to for all Japanese knives - well done knives from Japan team - awesome products and service 5*

I bought a knife from Knives from Japan just before Christmas. I spent £200 hoping for a knife that would last a lifetime.
Within a month the nose has crumbled and broken and there is a chip in the blade. I'm no stranger to Japanese blades and have cared for this blade like no other. I explained this to knives from Japan expecting a quick replacement.
Generic copied text and patronising responses is all I have received and no mention of a refund just a knife repair service. I'm sorry but I'm not having a knife that I've spent £200 on being repaired after less than and month llight use. It's simply not good enough
Im terribly disappointed in knives from japan's attitude and response to my complaints.

Excellent knives and customer service
Excellent knives purchased as a Christmas gift. The wooden block had a bit of a problem and was splitting, but the company sent a new one out that was in perfect condition to replace it. Very happy.
Hopeless customer "service"
Terrible customer service and no response to emails, contact forms or the phone (which says not in service). Ordered sharpening for two knives and planned to drop them into London shop. Was advised they needed to be sent elsewhere in prepaid box which would be sent. Box didn't arrive until after I had eventually managed to reach someone. Box arrived but without a return label. Again, eventually got in contact and was emailed DPD screenshot but no label/barcode. Have sent numerous emails and completed contact form but no avail. Shockingly poor.
I ordered a sharpening disc for a HORL…
I ordered a sharpening disc for a HORL knife sharpener. Having ordered it they advised me that it had to be signed for, it didnt need to be because its not a knife. I explained that I may not be in to take delivery and as such asked them to update the courier for it to be left at a safe place. They refused stating that all of their products need to be signed for. I can accept knives need signing for but not sharpening implements. Their loss I have just ordered over £900 of knives from another supplier. I wouldn't order from this lot ever again. Customer service is disgusting.
They sent a knife in a damaged box…
They sent a knife in a damaged box which I returned and they are now refusing to refund it because, guess it, the box is damaged! I took pictures of the damage on the day it was delivered which they are refusing to acknowledge. The sales team is clearly acting in bad faith.

Hard to Find
3/10/24, Update. Still love my original purchase but just bought 3 knives as gifts from KfJ at an astonishing price. I urge you to look at the their site often for equally amazing bargains
Finding a firm that combines great products with great service is really hard to find. But I am really pleased to say that's not the case with Knives from Japan. After much Internet searching I found KfJ who not only have a fantastic range of products but highly competitive prices and fast delivery. I ordered a knife block set which was delivered by UPS with full tracking information the very next day, on-time and perfectly packaged. And when I emailed them asking a question the response came back within an hour! My new knives are beautiful to look at and a joy to use so thank-you Knives from Japan." Read less
Good selection of knives prompt delivery
Good selection of knives promptly delivered.
two small points:
1. With the cost of some of my purchases running into the thousands it would have been nice to be able to talk to somebody presales. Although I admit the response to emails has been, in nearly all cases prompt.
2. Don't ask for specific day delivery. Probably UPS' fault but it just doesn't work.
