It doesn't fit properly and leaks. Every time I go to the bathroom there is blood everywhere regardless of where I try to put this thing. It absolutely does not fit as their diagrams show, it mostly stays folded up vertically in the vaginal canal which is useless. Expensive product with no refunds and no returns. It's a gamble not worth taking.

Only giving one star because I had to. 0/10 would not recommend to a friend. The most frustrating and uncomfortable experience ever!!
They claim “one size fits all” not even close. Don’t waste your time or money on this product. Oh also don’t bother contacting the company for a refund due to unsatisfaction, they don’t care and will offer you no help.

Has this thing for months and every month I try with fresh optimism only to be completely disappointed by how rubbish it is. It pops out, it leaks, it does not stay in. I have a low cervix and this product is supposed to be ideal but it’s not. I can’t get on with cups either unfortunately. I’ve put it in the bin where it belongs and I won’t be trying anymore discs or cups as these things cost so much and they don’t work ☹️

They claim "one size fits all", but it absolutely does not. I've tried it for two cycles, and no amount of pushing and tucking can keep this thing from leaking. It leaks when I squat, laugh, cough, sneeze, etc. I tried everything and it's just way too big. It also puts a lot of pressure in a spot that makes me feel like I need to urinate even when I don't, which is very annoying.
I wouldn't be annoyed about any of this if they still allowed for refunds if it didn't work for people, but they continue to insist that "one size fits all" and they stopped offering refunds. Companies make different sizes of cups and discs for a reason, and that reason is that everyone's body is different.
I left a negative review on their website, but they didn't post it for several days and sent me an email essentially telling me to just push the cup in farther (tried that, many times).
Be very careful and do your research to figure out what kind of disc will work before you buy one. I have no doubt this works for some people, and I know people who love this disc, but that doesn't mean it will work for everyone.

I really wanted to love this product, I spent so much money on it and invested so much hope that it would work. Unfortunately it's just not good. The One Size Fits All is a scam, because it does NOT fit all. There's no logical or scientific way it can fit "all", every body is different.

I am able to insert the disc but tucking does not help at all as it just pops back out. I've tried 2 cycles and even after inserting and tucking I just feel uncomfortable like something is sticking out or poking me and then it just pops back out. I'm not sure how anyone in their right mind would be able to have sex with this on.

For what its worth I did reach out to customer service but they weren't able to help in a meaningful way, just blanket advice they already offer on their FAQs page.

The worst part is that this disc and the products (wipes, etc.) are so obscenely expensive, and they don't offer refunds "due to the nature of the product". So what about all the women this product failed?

The Nixit is the best period product I have ever used. My periods are very heavy, using tampons and pads together was the norm for me. I tried another menstrual cup first which I was fairly happy with, but emptying it during the day at work was inconvenient and it was prone to leaks so I always needed to wear “back-up”. My first few months of trying the Nixit I was impressed. I could do a full day in work and not need to remove it, it can hold the volume easily. But the real test has been this last week when I’ve been on an active holiday. I’ve hiked, swam and been out for full day-trips with No leakages and No anxiety over finding toilets and emptying the cup. I still brought back-up products with me but honestly haven’t had to use them. For future travelling I will pack a lot lighter and just bring the Nixit.

I have a tilted cervix and found cups really hard to use after I had my son as my pelvic floor needed work. The shape of Nixit was a game changer for me as it didn’t pop out like the cups due to my cervix position.

Having reading some of the negative reviews before writing mine, I think its more objective to say that as with all menstrual products, it will either be great or it might not be right. Just because it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean its a bad product.

Everyone is different and as a user you need to be prepared for a adjustment period while getting used to it, as you would any other cup product, especially if new to it. It takes a while to get used to insertion. It should in theory work for most people when inserted correctly. Though there may be a small percentage it just doesn’t work for.

Great product if you have a tilted cervix or had to work on pelvic floor like me. Might be well suited for those who have had children.

Also, I need to point out I have had mine 3 years now, it was just on market when I got it, its still like new, its a quality and eco and money saving product in that sense.

I have been using a menstrual cup for 19 years and have never had a problem. Nixit is a nightmare, leaks all the time, even after 6-7 cycles. I absolutely do not recommend it!

I have used cup for a long time, tried different brands. This is the only one that did not work at all. I have given it enough chances but sadly it did not work for even a few hours. It may work for some but in no way it’s a “one size fits all” product. I am just upset that I have wasted so much money on this.

I sooo wanted this to work! I have used cups for 15 years now but really liked the sound of a disc so was excited to try this given all the great marketing! Sadly, it just wouldn't work. I gave it a good 4 cycles but every time it seemed ok to start and then popped out and leaked. I tried all the tips on their website, watched a few videos online, and even got some period underwear as backups (very much needed) but I've finally given up and went back to the moon cup. So disappointing as it was quite expensive :( The marketing is nice but I don't think it fits everyone.

So I’ve had the Nixit for a while but was really reluctant to try it, I’ve been using cups for about 2 years now and I’ve never been good with change but this cycle I lost my cup so finally got it out the box, I’ve got to say, I’m really impressed, it looks very daunting when you get it out the box but with the cup I had leaks and had to wear a panty liner which kind of defeats the ‘no waste’ aspect I was going for with the cups, I’m on day 3 now and I’ve finally got the hang of ‘placement’ because it’s very different from the cup and I didn’t get it at first but now I do I really don’t think I’ll go back to the cup when I find it, I’ve have 0 leaks throughout the day and day 3 for me is a heavy day, the previous two days I hadn’t got the hang of it yet so it did leak but i persevered and came to realise that it was my error, I’ve not tried sex with it yet because I’m still a teeny bit weary but so far I’m really happy with it & I’m very glad I finally got it out the box

Thanks to Nixit, I have now reached a new level of intimacy with my husband. The cup got stuck so far up, I was unable to get it back myself.
It is a shame as I was starting to like it! Husband pulled it out and it went straight to the bin.

Really disappointed with this rather expensive cup. I'm not one of those gals who are sheepish about getting "in there deep" to get the job done.. and Ive used other cups successfully but wanted to try a non section one.

Wow. What a horribly embarrassing experience I had since switching to the nixit. Yesterday I had 3 big sneezes in a row and the nixit cup popped out and blood EXPLODED in my pants. I was SO lucky to be home, but it happened while talking to my husband. I immediately ran to the shower and stripped off my stained, bloody clothes. I can't even imagine what I'd do if I were at work or with a client when that happened. Paid over $65 to literally have the most embarrassing experience.. ever. One size does NOT fit all!!

I happily used a mooncup since 2009 as I was fed up with plastic waste, but the birth of my daughter in 2018 and the year of breastfeeding that followed left things very dry down there! 😬 The insertion and removal of a suction cup became a painful experience that I dreaded my period and heavy days with lots of emptying. I tried a softer Intima liy cup but the soreness remained...years later when still finding removal sore I thought enough is enough and decided to look for alternatives. I was dubious of this design and the black magic that holds it in (and not too impressed with the price tag) but to my surprise it's revolutionised my period experience. Not only is there no soreness at all, insertion is really easy and I can wear it for up to 6 hours before emptying, even overnight and on the heaviest days. All the suction cups I've ever tried would leak when getting full which was every 2-3 hours for me, so I would still use a reusable pad as back up. My main issue using Nixit is that I forget I'm on my period and that I need to empty it! 😀 Yes, it's messy to empty, but so we're all the suction cups I ever used. The other great thing is that when you're out about without easy access to a sink you can just tilt it whilst inserted, let it empty and reposition! Other reviews have mentioned not being able to pee or poo, I have not found this at all. It feels different, yes, possibly there's a bit more resistance, but I can still go and this is a very small compromise considering all the life changing positives! Another negative I read here was the trial period but again I didn't find this. There were a few leaks at first but no worse than any other new cup. And once I'd nailed the insertion it was a breeze to do and to check. I wish I'd had a cup like this from the very beginning in 2009. For me it's made my periods hassle free and more like not being on my period at all! 😀 I would definitely recommend giving it a try as it could just be the best decision you've ever made. The price has also dropped since I bought mine too, so really not too much to gamble! ☺️

Definitely a hit or miss experience. I think that the disc is falsely advertised due to the claim that it will "fit everyone" - this is clearly not the case. While part of my problem was not knowing how to insert it properly, even with that figured out it is a little too large during certain days of my period. For some people this size simply won’t work...everyone is unique, so this one-size-(must)fit-all approach is a disservice to women. I also think that the so-called "extra soft silicone" isn't that great as it does having a "dragging" effect when inserting and removing. So, overall, it isn't that comfortable and it is also not cheap. This is not the disc brand I would recommend to people in all honesty.....save the money!!

UPDATE: Nixit just tried to bribe me to take this negative review down. God forbid people hear the truth about my personal experience about how meh this product is....

I was really excited about trying this cup since I try to live a sustainable lifestyle and also want to empower women financially, emotionally, and physically.

The idea behind this cup is great, but I personally had a bad experience with it as it got stuck inside of me. I had to go to the doctor's to get it removed. It was an embarrassing and difficult experience for me but apparently, this is an edge case that doesn't come up often.

Though this was my experience, I have heard of friends for whom it works well and I am happy for them that they are able to have a waste-free period. I would say that the risk of trying outweighs the potential issues (like going to the doctor to get it removed) that may come up as apparently the risks are slim.

This is the worst period cup ever. Any cup that recommends to have a 3 months trial phase to get used to it and test how to insert it properly, is utterly pointless.
I have been using cups for over 4 years now. This is difficult to insert, is not easy to know if it sits right, until you leak all over your clothes! You have to really dig into your vaginally canal to get it past the pubic bone. And even then, no way of knowing if its inserted correctly. I tried for several months and it is not working for me at all.
It's also really messy to change due to the disc shape and nothing to really pull the full disc out...
The price tag is also, in comparison to other products, hefty.
The material is so thinly walled that I do not recommend having longer nails?! I guess women can't have it all...

First of all, I have never used any type of cup in my life. Always tampons and pads. I saw an ad and thought, hmmm interesting. When I got it, I was thinking “this looks big and uncomfortable”. Tried it and was so surprised and how easy it was to insert and I CANNOT FEEL IT! I am only on day 4 of use and I’m happy to report that I have had zero leaks even though I’m sure it wasn’t fully in the correct place the first couple times. Normally I work long shifts on my feet all day, sometimes without a bathroom break. And when you know you’re soaking through your tampon, it’s not fun. Now I never have to worry about it! I am absolutely never going back to disposables! I only wish I had this in my younger years. I will be buying one for my teenage daughter next and hope that she loves it as much as I do.

I am 51 years old and have never used a menstrual cup or disc before and after only a week I will say the Nixit is the best thing ever and recommend everyone give it a try!
I am perimenopausal and have had my period for 3 months straight (yes it sucks!! and yes I have seen my doctor). I'm not super heavy but have a constant steady period and you never know when a big gush is coming. I am overweight, have given birth to 3 children vaginally and have a lot of scar tissue down there. I have tried every brand and size of tampon available and always (even when the tampon is barely soiled) leak so I didn't expect a lot from the Nixit but after reading lots of reviews and information thought I would give it a try. I have used uncomfortable, messy and leaky pads for years and combination of pad or panty liner and tampons and have never had a worry or mess free period day until I tried the Nixit.
Like most reviewer I would agree that it takes a bit of playing around to get used to inserting the Nixit. The first time I tried it it took 20 minutes to get in what I thought was in place then it leaked. You do have to make sure that it is tucked under your pubic bone to prevent leaks but once you figure it out you can check easily with one finger that it is in the proper place and it doesn't seem to move. I was very nervous and wore a pantyliner for a few days and checked often but have only leaked once, it was only a little spotting so minimal compared to what I'm used to with tampons it was not a big deal. I have done yoga and exercised with it in place with no leaks. I thought I would remove it every few hours but it is so comfortable and when you don't see any signs of leaks I have had it in for 10-12 hours a few times. It actually seem like I don't even have my period.
The first time you remove it you will think it's a bit of a disaster but once you get used to it if you pull it down from the pubic bone and let it drain into the toilet then remove it is really not that bad. Although you will get some blood on your hand it is not much different from when you remove a soaked tampon and definitely less mess to wipe away down there.
I purchased the Nixit over other cups because it said you could have clean sex with it in. I have been married for 25 years and we usually have sex several times a week. My husband says he doesn't mind the mess but I don't enjoy having sex with my period. My usual period only lasted a few days so I could put him off but after 3 months we both are wanting some. I was a little nervous and thought that I should wash the Nixit and reinsert prior to sex so if it did leak it wouldn't be too messy but really there has been no need. We have had sex several times and once in the morning after the Nixit was in all night and there has been no mess. I have always removed it and washed it after sex but can't believe how it has stayed in place. My husband says he can't feel it. It is awesome!
When people complain about the cost of Nixit I am shocked. I purchased at our local pharmacy for $42 and that it is way cheaper than what I have spent on pads and tampons in the last 3 months never mind over my years of periods.
From some of the review I know it may not work for everyone. If you are willing to give it a honest try hopefully you will find that it is comfortable, reliable and mess free and like me you will wish you would have started using it years ago!
Update! I have now been using the Nixit for about a month (yes still dealing with the period that never ends.) Today is the first leaky day I have had but my period is very heavy today. I have had to remove the Nixit every 2 hours as I am getting some spotting coming through. I have been wearing a pantyliner and have by no means soaked it but have had some spots of fluid on the liner which has prompted me to dump the Nixit which has had a lot of blood in it. I know this is one of those days that I would normally be soaking through a tampon and pad so I am still very happy with the Nixit compared to the mess I usually have but thought I would mention this.

I'm on my second cycle with Nixit. I tried a couple cups in the past, but they were uncomfortable (too long) and caused me to vasovagal if they popped open and hit my cervix. Also, I found breaking the seal of a cup uncomfortable for my sensitive cervix and to empty the cup it needs to be removed fully every time and reinserted, and I'm a heavy bleeder so that's fairly often for me.

I was so tired of the waste of tampons and ongoing cost.

I used to use Nuvaring for contraception and this inserts and sits in a similar fashion, so I thought I'd try it. It took me a few times to insert this into correct position, but I cannot feel it when it's in place- at all. It is of utmost importance to really tuck it up behind the pubic bone so it won't leak, but I don't leak a bit if I do. Side note, it slows my urinary stream because is presses on the urethra.

The one draw back for me, is that it can be quite messy to remove- like blood all over messy. I have learned to just untuck it from behind my pubic bone and drain it, then push it back up, rather than fully remove it. I only fully remove it occasionally during my cycle to rinse now which has helped.

So in summary this is a total win for me: comfortable, doesn't leak, no waste.
