Poor customer service across the board. I booked my car in for service and MOT for same date. A few days beforehand the online check in notice came through and there was no mention of service! I rang them and they ‘agreed’ to add it in. I explained I have a service plan with them, but the person on phone couldn’t find it so quoted me the cost for my service despite me having correct ref numbers and paperwork for the plan. Prior to this I also had a recall notice so rang to see if that could be added in on the day of service. I was told no as not enough ‘recall gaps that day’ so booked it in for a month later. I was told during that call it wasn’t a rush to get the recall done - but I explained that it was an airbag safety issue so I pointed out that until it’s replaced there is a risk to any passengers in my car should it deploy / not deploy during any impact. Still unable to bring date for recall forward. On day of service they tell me they are doing the recall and can find no mention of a booking for it for the following month - presumably they cancelled that date without telling me. On the day, the agent I dealt with also couldn’t find my service plan but then said he was looking in the wrong place! On the whole a stressful experience for something which is very routine for a company like JLR and not the service I would expect from a premium car manufacturer. I have taken my service plan elsewhere now.

I was particularly interested in seeing how the car drove in electric, and see the comfort, but the vehicle I test drove was out of charge on the day... but the sales person said that it apparently drove the same regardless. The appointment was done a few days in advance and I was particular about what vehicle I wanted to drive, but vehicle was still out of charge. Regardless, the sales person only took me out for about 3 miles because the vehicle was also out of fuel. So in total I drove for about 3 miles, about 5-6 min, so I am unsure how I could make a decision on a vehicle I can only test drive for 3 miles.. Bad experience, lack of preparation and care.

From start to finish everything was perfect. Graham and Andrew was brilliant and helpful, they done all the paperwork and made necessary arrangements for me to get the car I wanted. The support I received from Lookers, Chelmsford was excellent, I could not fault the team I had dealings with - Mark Watts, Graham Mansfield and Neal from the sales team.
From start to completion, I was kept informed of all the progress and very happy with my recent purchase of the Defender 110, it was exactly as described to me. I will most certainly recommend them and will be utilising their services again in the future. Thank you once again.

We recently purchased a new Range Rover Evoque from Lookers Land Rover in Chelmsford, and the whole experience was fantastic. Our sales advisor, Lee, provided exceptional service from start to finish. Despite the delays caused by the cyber incident affecting Land Rover and Jaguar, he kept us fully informed and updated throughout. Even when he couldn’t give us a confirmed delivery date, he still checked in regularly so we always felt looked after.
Although the car was delayed a few times, the handover experience made it all worthwhile. When our vehicle finally arrived, we were taken into a beautifully set-up room where the car was covered and then revealed to us—it was such a lovely touch.
Overall, we’re very pleased with the service we received at Lookers Chelmsford and would definitely recommend them to friends and family. If you’re thinking of buying a car, go and see Lee!
