Lookers - Volvo Stockport Avis 189

Booked a service appointment months in advance on the app for collection of my vehicle from my home. Get a notification the working day before my appointment to ‘check the vehicle in’ for drop off between the hours of 8:30-11:30. Call up the dealership to confirm that we requested collection of the vehicle and not a drop off, a female we spoke to said yes sometimes the requests don’t show up on text messages but everything looks as it should and someone will come and collect from you between 8:30-11:30am on the day of servicing. 11am approaches on the day and no one has arrived, so we call the dealer to chase up and get told that they don’t offer that service. Next appointment available would be in 2 months time or to bring in the vehicle now and it would take 2-3 hours. The whole point of requesting the collection service was so that I wouldn’t have to wait at the dealer. If the service isn’t offered please don’t allow it on the app and make sure your desk/phone staff know what services are offered and are relaying correct information to customers.
It’s been like this for years. Time to move on from this dealer - Volvo Stockport.

As customer service goes, then you will not go wrong with Volvo Stockport. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome and comfy relaxed seating area with refreshments with no expense spared.
Adam who is my contact is absolutely fantastic, who goes above and beyond and really does make you feel relaxed at answers any questions you have. His good humour makes you feel at ease almost immediately and his knowledge is second to none. He made every step of my purchase smooth and kept me fully informed. I very highly recommend Volvo as they genuinely do care about their customers and will look after you. Five star services all around and Adam really is an asset to Volvo Stockport. I will eat my hat and run around the showroom in my birthday if anyone says any different. First class service and much much better than Mercedes or BMW.

I had a fantastic experience at Lookers Volvo Stockport. Adam B was absolutely brilliant — he went through the paperwork in detail , kept in regular touch with email and calls and when the car arrived, he took the time to go through everything with me in detail, showing me how all the buttons and features worked, which I really appreciated.

He was friendly, chatty, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. In fact, the overall atmosphere at Volvo was lovely — the staff are not pushy at all, just genuinely helpful, considerate, and professional.

It was a really enjoyable experience collecting my car, and I’m so pleased with it. I wouldn’t hesitate to return again in the future.

Eser was brilliant. From the first time I walked into the showroom to collecting my car he was always so friendly and personable. He walked me through everything I needed to do, kept me up to date and did everything he said he would do. Yes, it’s his job but it’s also nice to not be treated like ‘just another customer’. Andy, Ian and the team at Lookers Volvo were brilliant. They helped find the right car, got it secured and delivered on time, with a superb communication through to handover.

Volvo Financial Services were a different story. Slow, patchy communication, repeatedly asking for the same information, and an IT failure right at the end almost halted the handover. Volvo really needs to upgrade and digitise their processes.

Luckily, the team at Lookers stayed on Volvo’s case until it was resolved.

Bought car direct for simplicity - perfect and professional.

Once the local dealership got involved prepare to be ignored, given misleading info and need to chase everything.

Delivery was late but handover by salesman done well.

Dealer supplied accessories not fitted just dumped in the boot. Thanks Guys.

I bought a Volvo Selekt used XC40 from Lookers Volvo Stockport. Matt in sales was extremely helpful and was on top of the sale from start to finish. They do very well. They happily improved a cosmetic interior issue.

Just had my volvo XC40 with pollstar optimisation download. Car runs like a dream now. Very smooth gearbox, more hp and torque. Very friendly lady on reception, car came back washed and cleaned on the inside, excellent friendly staff at the stockport volvo. 10/10thank you steve.

Booked my car for it's annual service over the phone on 6th Feb @ 13:45, and specifically requested a timed slot for a "while I wait" service. It was arranged and I received an email confirmation that my car was booked in for 20th Feb, at 8:45am.
On 19th Feb I received a call from Volvo Stockport to confirm that I would be attending the following day, then was told it wasn't a timed slot and that it would be done at some point during the day, or I could re-schedule. Since I had already booked the morning off work, I left the appointment unchanged.
On arrival to the appointment on 20th Feb, I again explained that it I had booked as a timed slot for while I wait service, but was again told they had all been booked, and they would get it done as soon as possible. The car didn't move until after 4pm.
It was after 5pm when they finally notified me it was ready for collection. It is quite obvious that they purposely kept me waiting until last one of the day, knowing I was waiting.
Further, the job card sent prior to the service listed amongs other things, for replacing the wiper rubbers, but this didn't happen. When I questioned this, I was told it's not part of the service and would need to pay extra.
So why is it listed on the job card?...that's just the way Volvo issue the jobcards apparently.
This is very misleading and in my opinion, they're selling their service in a way 'not as described'.

The previous year's experience left me equally annoyed, albeit for a different reason.

I have been very happy with the Volvo car for the four years that I've owned it, but the lack of customer care I received from Volvo Stockport service department on the past two occasions leaves me looking elsewhere for a better experience. Try and change my mind!

Shocking service . This is my second visit to this dealership and each time it gets worse . The parking is terrible , no parking and tight reversing is required every time, no marshal on duty its a real test of your driving skills . Lookers had the vehicle for two days found no fault , ok great i picked up the car then wondered around the car park looking for it only to find it would not let me in , i give up the car can go back . Very poor service .

This is my second XC90, supplied by Stockport Volvo therefore I was somewhat disappointed at the poor levels of communication, the seemingly lack lustre approach to customer service, the trying to charge me for an inspection for being out of warranty - even though booked whilst in warranty and being shouted at - yes shouted at - by their very own parking attendant for daring to park my car, whilst collecting it following the service! All this whilst chatting to the sales person about replacing my current car for a £90k new one!! Hmm, I don't think so - well not with Lookers anyway.

Nice clean modern showroom, excellent facilities and comfortable seating. Special thanks to Adam Bentley who was very knowledgeable, extremely helpful with great customer service skills. A 5 star experience. And the Volvo cars are amazing.

Arrived for my first service, although early I was welcomed by Abbie (lady on reception) with a warm smile. After handing over the keys I took a seat in their lovely waiting area. I was able to source refreshments with ease and was also able to work from the space.

I was over the moon 12 months ago upon our purchase, and I am so pleased that the level of service has continued.

Really welcoming and helpful right from the moment I arrived at the customer car park..(lovely guy btw thank him for me). You kept me up to date via my phone and my car was ready on time. The nicest surprise was the health check (and the video!) you gave my XC70. Thank you so much everyone at Lookers Volvo Stockport.
