We purchased a 12.6kg bag of Miracle-Gro Complete 4 in 1 as scattered as per the instructions. The following morning the were large burnt patched across our new lawn. I contacted LoveTheGarden who were extremely slow in replying. I was contacted by "Tegan" who was rude and denied liability and said the "no quibble guarantee" which applies to all products bought from authorised retailers, did not apply to this product. Awful product which has ruined our lawn and appalling customer care. Beware, I will certainly not buy another product from this company.

Awful. Compost looked like straw! When pots on patio watered a dark brown liquid ran out -leaving the patio heavily stained. Cleaning slabs on patio with wire brush and washing up liquid has had little impact. Have now had to move pots onto garden and am watering on the hope that water will run clear eventually. Absolutely useless - will never buy again!!

Bought several bags of Levingtons Tomorite for my tomatoes, what complete rubbish! Opened 1st bag to fill some tubs & all i came across was loads of hard twigs, shreds of plastic & also bits of shredded plastic cable ties , thought it might just be a bad bag but on opening the others just more of the same wth ! What other rubbish are they putting in there that we are paying for , definitely will not buy again !

I recently purchased a ph soil meter. I tested it on a sealed bag of their miracle gro azalea camellia rhododendron compost which is meant to be an ericaceous compost of around ph 4.5-6. The ph meter was reading 7.8. I tested it in 2 separate bags - one open and one sealed. I thought there was something wrong with the ph meter and got a refund for the ph meter. i purchased a better quality ph meter. Once again I measured the ph with the new ph meter and this suppsoed acidic compost is testing as 7.7 (i have photo proof)! It's alkaline! I wrote to your customer service but they compleetly ignored my enquiry and i had to write back and repeat my enquiry. my next step will be trading standards.

Purchased two bags of miracle gro lawn dressing - absolute rubbish! Contents of bag were just one wet solid lump - had to empty it into a wheel barrow, break it up and let it dry out. It's just a mix of sieved top soil, including bits of pottery and plastic, plus rotted "forest products" including twigs and acorns. Clay content results in hard lumps unless you thoroughly break it up. Am returning the unused bag for a refund.

Bought several bags of this compost, and really regret doing so. Just solid lumps that need to be smashed up with a fork or similar before it could be used, and so far very poor results with anything planted in it. Seems to have no goodness in it, fit only for digging in as soil texture improver. Would never buy again.

Surely they shouldn't be able to sell this garbage and call it compost, plastic, stones and the rest is twigs. £26 of rubbish, I've just dumped 3 entire bags at the tip.

levington compost total rubbish, plastic, metal, large bits of wood, nothing growing well with, not worth buying, even got burnt copper wire with plastic, please dont buy as only encouraging this company to continuing selling rubbish, taking it back to morrison where i brought it

As other reviewers have said the compost is full of straw, twigs and stones but in my case there were also shards of broken glass

Absolute worst compost I've ever used. Full of stones and sticks. Why are they still allowed to sell this rubbish. Do they even bother to read the reviews

Rubbish in a Bag.
Miracle Gro compost was a trusted product. I purchased 6 bags from Wicks and all bags are no better than mulch , it looks like the product failed the composting process and hasn’t broken down. The bags are soaking wet as if they have been submerged or the composting process was waterlogged, the moisture is very black and stains hands. The smell is also off more like Farm Manure, the seeds I planted in this product all failed. In all my years I’ve never seen anything so bad it makes DIY store product look great.

Miracle Grow M P Compost. Although I sieved the compost and watered with dilute liquid seaweed the germination was very poor as was any (if any) further growth. What survived I had to transfer to a different brand.

Bought Lemington essential compost, the most awful compost I ever used. It is rough,there is mold on it, does not hold the water and stinks. Will never buy again, wasted money. This goes into the green bin right away.

This is truly the worst product I’ve bought. My house is covered in gnats. And there was all sorted of insects in the bag too. Terrible product. I’m now trying to treat all my plants to get rid of them. The next thing I’ll have to do is clean out all my pots and again and start all over at this rate

Miracle grow peat free compost full of gnat eggs. Created a horrible situation that cost me 5 times the price to fight and I’m still dealing with them.

Good grief; 92% one star reviews; they must be terrible. My beef is the ridiculous claim that their 43x63x8 cm bags hold 40 litres of compost. The maths suggests 21 litres. So are we all being conned? No doubt they will say that the material is compressed… however no matter how loose the compost is made it will never expand to 40 litres… except under some special Levington magic I suppose.

Lovethegarden represents Levington and Tomorite compost brands. Having contacted them about substandard product, they declared that their horticulturalist found nothing wrong.

They must have special powers to do so from a distance.

So: avoid Levington composts. Avoid Tomorite grow bags. They are not fit for purpose. Spread the word.

Whenever so called horticulturalists sell online they use terminology like " Grass greener in 5 days" . Well, that's just pure lies. In 2 months it's stayed the same. Try sending what you have left to them and get a refund. You have no chance in Hell ! When they STEAL money from all of us for the lies they publish online who's to blame ? Us or the authorities ? The horticultural World sell with LIES .
