Doesn't save any time, contact the agencies directly.
Messly did nothing to accelerate the process of signing up for locum work.
The agencies contact you separately and then you must duplicate all sign up forms and processes. You must also respond to them separately - via email, text or even phone calls, whatever each agency uses normally. So messly doesn't even reduce the bureaucracy of picking up shifts.
Not to mention there is insane competition for locum work currently, which will only worsen. It's not worth the time, just emigrate.

It's sad to see that your experience does not keep in line with the thousands of doctors who have used Messly - as you can see from our other reviews.
Doctors who have used Messly say that the benefits of using the platform over going direct are:
1) Choice: ability to see locum jobs across the whole locum agency market anonymously, without committing to signing up to agencies.
2) Trusted agencies: we only work with vetted agencies, so you know you're working with the best!
3) High-quality recruiters: You're able to see reviews on recruiters, left by doctors, and are able to choose best ones to work with.
4) Streamlined process / Ease of use: Ability to manage all conversations, documents, references and calls from one app/website, and being able to quickly register with multiple agencies.
5) Support: Getting ceaseless support and advice for the Messly team.
We're sorry to hear that you were contacted by agencies off of the platform, who you originally connected with via Messly. We have a call scheduling system on the platform which allows you to book in calls directly with the recruiters. We also have a documents portal, called Docs, which enables you to store and share your documents with agencies via the platform. All agencies on Messly should be utilising these features. However, we'll follow-up on this to find out which agencies haven't been using them.
We're also aware that there is a lot of competition for locum work at the moment. The market is tough place right now, and unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this. Of course, our team are working hard to ensure that doctors registered with Messly are getting the most out of the platform, and we're sorry to hear that you've been let down on this occasion.

Perfect team & great experience with Messly
Messly is very efficient way of getting into locum work. I found the team on Messly very helpful and supportive all the way through till I got my first locum shifts. The system of having everything in one place and not having to repeat all the checks and references for each single agency is really innovative and saves time and effort. I think everything about messly is great, except for the fact that some of these agencies make you go through the rigors of everything you've done on messly again, and that is so tiring.

We understand that the redundancy in providing information to certain agencies can be tiring. Unfortunately, there is a lot of paperwork required to register with agencies for compliance reasons, and each agency will have their own unique registration process and protocols which we can't get around. However, it would be useful to know which agencies you had issues with, so that we can look into this further for you - as agencies on the platform should be able to access all of your compliance documents via the Docs and OneRef services, and therefore should not be asking for these documents directly if they have already been uploaded to the platform.

F3 with Messly
Messly is a very easy to use website which allows you to see the range of jobs and locums in your area. The OneRef system made it very easy to supply references to multiple locum agencies. I would definitely recommend this website to other doctors looking for locum work in their F3 year !

This app made my locum job serve very easy
Messly made it easy to connect with locum agency and made the registration process easy. I don’t have to chase after agencies but agencies were the one trying to get me to register and work with them. Having all my documents in Messly means that I don’t have to be uploading these again with different locum agencies and having my references in the same place means my referees don’t need to be approached by different locum agencies every time I register with new agencies.
Katie working for Messly was very helpful and always at hand to answer any questions and give advice.

In Everyway Fantastic.
Easy to use service that provides comprehensive assistance in accessing a variety of locum agencies. Means that I could shop around for the agency that I wanted based on their responsiveness, reviews, and possible jobs on offer. Very easy to use system for applying to locum agencies. My favourite part was being able to search for jobs and filter depending on pay rate and location. It was very easy to upload all your documents in one place and the oneref option was very useful as you only need to ask for references one time.

Most of the shifts advertised don’t actually exist
Main issue is that most of the jobs and shifts posted on here don’t actually exist, they’re just a way to attract you to agencies. Other than that it’s really good- an easy way to get in contact with new agencies and the referencing system/docs all in one place is brilliant

However, we're sorry to hear that you encountered roles on the platform that were no longer available. The locum market is experiencing severe slow down at the moment which means unfortunately, there aren't many roles available. Due to the competitiveness caused by this, jobs are being snatched up very quickly which means some of the roles on the platform are no longer available - even though the advert for them is still up. We're aware of this issue and are encouraging the agencies on the platform to remove any jobs from the site as soon as they are filled.
We have added a feature to the platform which allows you to see when the job was originally posted - so you get a sense of how old the jobs are. We have also created an FAQ page on our website which answers more questions about the jobs posted on Messly. You can find this article here: https://support.messly.co.uk/en/articles/8386409-jobs-advertised-on-messly.
However, we apologise for any upset or confusion caused by the situation. We'll continue to monitor the roles posted on the platform and take action where needed.

Easy access to many locum agencies
I signed up to several medical locum agencies with Messly. I managed to secure a long term post with one of the agencies. It was useful that documents and references could be uploaded on to one site which you have then control over regarding allowing access to chosen agencies. I would go through Messly for locum work again.

It’s a very useful website and the app is great if you’re starting off in your locum F3 year as it can help to point you in the right direction. It’s so useful having your own dedicated member of staff from the team to send queries to along the way and it overall provides a wealth of knowledge that would otherwise take you a while to learn about.
