Local company, great service

Bought a GoPro camera from here and couldn't be happier. The bundle was great (extra memory card, 2 batteries, charger), while it was shipped separately, I was kept up to date on the status and never had to wonder where my items were. Didn't have any issues, so can't say how customer service is, but that is a good thing.

Big Agnes 6 Big House rocks.

First off the Big Agnes 6 Big House is as Big as advertised. I'm 6' 3" and I can stand in the thing. I throw down a Full size airbed and there is still plenty of room for packs, the dog and gear. Zippers and nylon are top flight. (PS to USC fans --- the cardinal and gold tent is an exact match for school colors.) Mountain Plus had the best price and I go full-on obsessive when looking for something like this so my search was exhausting and exhaustive. They got the tent to the door in a couple days and threw in a footprint to sweeten the deal. Browsing the MP website is always risky if you're trying to save money cause they have such great gear. Temptation every email. Good service, fine product, score!

Great product and even greater savings

First order with this retailer and received the desired bike rack as promised. Best price I found online by $40. Very happy with this purchase and would use this retailer again.

Good intentions but they fall short of promise

MP Gear definitely has some of the best prices I've seen online. It's too bad that their customer service and processing leaves a lot to be desired. Apparently, my order fell through the cracks and was delayed for weeks. I had to follow up several times via email and phone just to make sure that they did not forget about me. The entire time my order showed "pending on hold" on their website and it was never updated. It does not instill much confidence when this happens. I was told by 2 separate employees that my order was being processed and that it was "being drop shipped by another vendor". After two weeks, I contacted them again for the 3rd time and finally got some movement. I think I may have gotten the owner. The person apologized and said that a couple of key employees had quit which is why my order was stuck in limbo.

I did finally get my order and all was well but it took 3 weeks to receive it and it wasn't an easy or flawless transaction by any means. It was by far one of the worst online buying experiences I've ever had in my years of buying online and this includes buying from shady Brooklyn camera companies. I hope that this was just a fluke. They do have a nice website and ordering process. I wonder if they even stock these items like Amazon or the like.

Chances are these guys have great intentions to provide the best prices for their customers but they seem overwhelmed with the traffic they get and don't have an efficient system in place to process orders quickly and accurately. I have high hopes for MP Gear and I may try them again at some point but there are other online stores who are much more reliable and process orders fast. Perhaps, these guys should team up with Amazon to help with fulfillment and processing? I am happy with the product I ordered thankfully. I would hate to think about the inconvenience of returning an item I purchased from them. Your mileage may vary.

Sent the wrong size jersey with no followup

I was sent the wrong size and contacted them immediately to see if the correct size was available. Never heard back. But they did call in regards to the original order very quickly to let me know one item was out of stock and to share other options with me, which was great. Products were great quality though.

Two strikes!!

Ordered an Osprey Hornet backpack from the web site only to get a call back later that they had listed the wrong size backpack and it was actually smaller than advertised. I cancelled my order and chucked it to "stuff happens". Shortly thereafter I used a coupon to order an MSR Stove Maintenance kit for my MSR Rapidfire in preparation for a trip. The stove was back ordered for weeks and I had called and asked to have it shipped overnight at no cost which was approved by a manager. The stove was shipped via regular mail weeks later. I decided I could not trust MPGear with the purchase of a Jetboil Flash Stove and went with another outfitter which delivered it on time. My calls to customer service left me with the sense that there is a lack of organization and of clear and effective systems and procedures. Although very kind and respectful people it seems like they conduct business in a fast and loose manner. I could not trust them with more expensive high end purchases.

Very friendly support, enjoyable experience

The staff was very helpful when I emailed about my item being back-ordered. It was near the end of the sales season for snowshoes and they were out of stock on the model I was looking for, so getting that version would require an order from the manufacturer and several weeks of delay. We were running out of snowy days and I was hoping to get out in the snow as soon as I could. The friendly staff member explained that there was little difference between the previous model year and that I could step up to a nicer version for the same price. That way the snowshoes could be boxed up that day and sent out to me quickly. The snowshoes arrived in a very timely manner and I was out in the snow before the weather got too warm. Thanks MPGear!

So easy I forgot I bought it.

The CatEye Sensor And Computer got eaten by the spokes on my bike. I didn't want to buy another complete unit and found this kit at MP+. Their website was so easy to navigate that I bought it during a boring business meeting. It arrived quickly and worked perfectly.

Human Customer Service & Competitive Pricing

I choose to buy my gear from these guys because they offer great service and support . That's something you don't get with the big box retailers. On top of that, the prices are very competitive and free shipping is great!

Terrible customer service.

I ordered a part that cost $1 and weighed about 10g and asked for them to only process the order if they could ship it for cheaper than the quoted $7.50 (it would easily have fit in an envelope and cost one stamp to send). Also sent several e-mails again reiterating that I only wanted the part if they could do it for cheaper shipping (buying a $1 part with $7.50 shipping makes no sense). Instead of responding, they just went ahead and shipped it in a huge box for $7.50. Never acknowledged any of my many messages.

Thank you for your feedback. I checked our system for the order ID indicated with this feedback and it appears it was for 2 Swift Ochrana bike bags that we worked a deal with you on because you were in a pinch and needed some bags quickly.

In looking at the notes it appears that everything went well with that transaction and we had hoped you were happy.

Was there another transaction that we failed on or something wrong with the bike bags you ordered?

A pleasant, easy way to buy something I needed.

The pricing was very good...I had been watching and waiting for a good deal. The Thule feet were shipped and arrived as promised. No hitches at all. Installation on my Subaru Outback New style roof rack was easy. It is a very solid mount and enables me to use all the Thule accessories I've accumulated through the years. No need to buy overpriced stuff directly from Subaru!

Prompt and courteous customer service made for a pleasant transaction. I knew I was ordering a back-ordered item since it was clearly labeled, yet they immediately reached out to make sure I knew when I could expect my item. Would recommend.

Month and half delivery time

I ordered a NRS Big River Float Tube that said was in stock. After 2 weeks I called and was told my item is never in stock and they order directly from NRS. After another week of waiting I called again to see if I could get a tracking # or shipping info from NRS and was told they don't receive one. After 2 more weeks I called to cancel my order, the customer service rep told me my item was finally in stock and would be sent to me. Over a month and half waiting time for my item that was stated as being "in stock" on their website. Pathetic company and will never do business with them again.
