Bit of a faff, got there in the end.
Update: The team at the branch reached out to apologise for the experience which was both unexpected and appreciated. They accepted the experience was not ideal. I have upped the star rating because of this positive engagement. I will be back in the future and look forward to giving 5stars next time!
When I turned up for the original booking I was told that the alignment machine was broken and I would have my tires fitted but aljgnment would have to be next week.
I walked to work and not long after was informed the tires had been fitted - wish I had stayed with the car!
Tires were the ones I ordered and were brand new. They also seemed great.
However, the car was now pulling to the left, very clearly. I had to drive 400 miles that weekend with a pull which was frustrating.
I returned a week later for the alignment (which I booked online). On arival I was told there was no booking and the machine wasn't fixed yet, it was being fixed that day. I should call later to see if it has been and book an appointment.
I called later, was told it was fixed, booked an appointment for the next morning - as I was again about to do 500 miles over the weekend.
Car went in, was aligned, all fine. Not super impressed it was £89 given its obviously going to need doing after new tires and it was fine before I went in...
Also, the car still pulled to the left a little so I had to to back in and get it aligned again. They said the machine hadn't been calibrated correctly, but had now.
Aligned again. No charge (obviously). All fine. But what a faff. Staff were friendly throughout.

Good service with friendly staff
Good service with friendly staff. However feel that advance bookings should be given priority rather than dealing with walk-in customers. This would help keep their regular customers happy, knowing that staff resources are available at the time of their appointment. This time I was advised that owing to staff shortages and obviously really busy with other walk-in customers, I was informed that it would be at least an hour which I accepted & went off & did other things. Least I knew in advance which was okay.
Sounds a bit petty, but feel this proposal would work better and lead to less delays for customers who have gone to the trouble of booking an appointment. Accept that unplanned / urgent tyre change or repairs will constantly occur so perhaps 75% capacity should be a maximum for taking bookings. Staffing issues seem to be ongoing? Overall really good service & prices.

Vey poor waiting times but good fitters
Customer Service - Awful, overly polite on welcome but then keep you waiting for an hour even after booking a time slot. Walk ins and trade seem to take priority.
Actual Tyre Fitter - Superb, friendly, professional and quick.
Shame as they seem to take orders and then worry how to fit them later.

Yet another puncher, just turned up, the depot was busy but still they managed to fit me in within 2 hours
Absolutely brilliant staff, nobody is miserable,
As pensioners we just want a hassle/stress free day, they certainly did that for us so we could get on with our day

Honest, experienced, fast service and great staff
I have not been here since it was Mid Devon Tyres, but the staff here at Protyre are absolutely fantastic and I will absolutely be recommending them to everyone! I booked my car in for a wheel alignment using the simple online booking system, and took advantage of the great 50% offer. Despite being very busy on the day and working in the hottest of weather, the staff were fast and efficient, and communicated with me throughout my car being on the ramp. They even offered beverages while I waited. Having been let down by another garage, I booked with Protyre at the last minute, and I couldn't have been more delighted by them.
This is an honest and experienced garage, giving great service. Thank you guys!
