Vick (PT) at Oswestry Gym
Vick (PT) at Oswestry Gym, was superb. Very patient, demonstated how to use machines correctly. Encouraged me through out my first session to keep going and ensured that each machine I used was to my ability. Gym itself was not overcrowded (off peak 12.30pm) , was clean and attended by all abilities. I felt very comfortable. Can recommend both Vick and this gym.

My 73-year-old mother slipped and broke…
My 73-year-old mother slipped and broke her arm and shoulder on a sheet of perspex that fell off an advertising sign associated with PureGym Oswestry. 😥 We haven't had any contact whatsoever from PureGym, and it's now been 48 hours since she fell. We are trying to find out how to contact your legal department. 😡 We are angry that no one has even phoned to see how she is doing! Love going here, I'm a 74 lady, it's a peaceful gym where I can take my time, do my own thing to my ability and keep fairly toned up. Music is okay where some gyms deafen you! Friendly, clean, accessible parking and out of town so quieter but also near enough to make it worth my while driving in.

Not many treadmills or running equipment more weights and had to wait long time to get on them

Great gym
Great gym, staff are helpful. The gym is clean and tidy. Great value for money. My only little downside is no wipes, so I can clean after my use at the machines, it’s just a personal thing i like to leave it clean for the next user.

The atmosphere of the gym is pleasant, and there is ample space for workouts. It would be beneficial to have a decline bench and an additional seated machine, as these are currently unavailable.

I'm an ex service man and when I joined…
I'm an ex service man and when I joined it would not accept my blue card for a reduction in my joining fee so I had to pay the full price.

Not as Scary as I Thought.
As a 'senior' trying to hold back the years I was afraid that a gym might be a bit intimidating but I found the staff at Oswestry's new Puregym friendly, helpful and very encouraging. Background music is kept to a non-intrusive level meaning that conversations when asking for guidance and training tips from other users can be spoken rather than shouted. Perfect!
Overall, I am delighted with Puregym's facilities and approach.

Only one shower
The new Oswestry PureGym has decent equipment, but there are several drawbacks.
There's only one regular bike, which can be frustrating during busy times.
The biggest issue, however, is the shower situation—there’s only one shower in the entire gym, and it’s often occupied when I need it. This makes it difficult for me to fit my workout into my schedule before work. Additionally, there’s no sanitiser, hand gel, or wipes available, which is disappointing for a gym that should prioritize cleanliness. Another minor inconvenience is that you have to pay separately for a padlock, though they are conveniently available in a vending machine, so it's not a major hassle—just an added cost. On a positive note, the staff was actually nice and friendly, which made my experience a bit more pleasant. Overall, the shower situation is the main reason I can't recommend this gym.
