We categorically deny any suggestion that Quick-Plates is a “scam.” Here are the facts:
• Order & Payment: You placed your order on 26/06/2025 and paid £32.51 for special delivery.
• Documentation & Processing: We confirmed that we have yet to receive receipt of your legally required proof of ownership and identity.
• Email Communications: Between 10th and 11th July you and our team exchanged six emails—we answered every query, confirmed that your plates were manufactured, and arranged for you to collect them. We have also answered your emails from this morning too. We know you have received these emails as you have replied to them.
• Current Status: As agreed in those emails, your order is complete and waiting for you to pick up. No plates have been dispatched because you chose to collect rather than home delivery.
We take every review seriously and pride ourselves on clear, prompt communication. We’re fully compliant with DVLA regulations, and our customer records show no unanswered messages on our side.

Hi , I just “ordered” a plate and they have taken the money out of my account . I didn’t receive a comfirmation of order email and the item is still in my basket however. So I guess the item isn’t going to come .

Why don't you make it clear at the start that you need documents. You let people order plates you take their money, and then tell them you can't send them until you recieve all the documentation.

terrible service. they will not except the information I sent them but were quick to tell me they had already made the plates and that if I was to cancel, it would cost £6. I got another plate from Amazon with next day delivery with no hassle. Do not use this company.

We’re sorry you feel this way, but as a legally registered number plate supplier, we are required by law to request valid identification and proof of entitlement before producing any plates. This is not our policy—it’s a legal obligation that all compliant plate manufacturers must follow.
While some sellers on platforms like Amazon may bypass these checks, that does not make those plates legal. In fact, many of them are not road legal and could result in fines or MOT failures.
We also clearly inform customers that once plates have been made, cancellation incurs a fee, as custom items cannot be reused or resold.
We remain committed to providing fully legal, high-quality number plates with fast turnaround, while following DVLA regulations to protect all road users.
The plates took longer to arrive than…
The plates took longer to arrive than advertised, I chose the cheapest as I wasn't in a rush, but after 7 days I felt it was a long time especially as I was advised they had been despatched on the Monday but still didn't recieve them till the following Monday. Tracking info was crap, usual rubbish from Royal mail, my advice would be if you are in a rush choose the next day option or pay that bit more locally and pick them up. I did call them, the guy at the end was a little irritated with me repeating the same stuff as if I was dim. I had never done this before so it was learning curve for me would I use them again probably not ,purely base on mr irritated at the end of the phone.
Thank you for your reply, at the time of ordering the timescale wasn't an issue, I suggest you change from the royal snail mail then if its outside your control as your reputation is at stake.

While you selected our budget non-tracked option, we understand the frustration with Royal Mail delays – unfortunately, this is outside of our control once dispatched. We always recommend the Tracked 24 or Next Day option for time-sensitive orders, as mentioned during checkout.
As for the phone call, we sincerely apologise if our team member came across as irritated. We appreciate that everyone’s at a different stage of understanding the process, and we should always aim to be patient and helpful.

Excellent service, quality plates, good price
Needed chersihed plates for my car and after searching the net and local suppliers I settled on Quick Plates.
Very easy to provide the documents they wanted online, receive confirmation they were okay and soon after, confirmation of dispatch, a very quick process.
I was also impressed by the comprehensive fitting instructions included in their confirmation email.
Plates arrived on time and in perfect condition, they drilled without any cracking, splitting or chipping and I cannot find a single imperfection in them.
Being ex motor trade I have seen some awful number plates but these are probably the best I have ever seen or fitted.
All this and a reasonable price as well, what more could anyone want?

Poor Service. 'Quick Plates' they are not.....
Removed my cherished plate from DVLA on the Friday 20th June. Instructions from DVLA was to get plates made up ASAP. Ordered new plates from 'quick plates' on the 20th June. Seamless process to order and for them to take money, but there was zero information regarding the forms they required 'AFTER' payment. I sent them the photo of the DVLA document that had ALL the information they required including doc numbers, reg details of Plate coming off and plate going on. I heard nothing for 4 days. I then emailed them and asked when i would be receiving the plates, to which a reply of "when you send us the correct documentation, we will release the plates" I suggested that as this process was not explained very well at the beginning, i would like a full refund and i will purchase from Halfords as i could get these next day. I then received a further email stating the T's and C's of sale saying once the order is placed, NO REFUNDS. I had to await delivery of my new log book, photograph it and then send it to them. This was sent on 25th June. I received the plates today (30th June) to say that the customer service was poor, is an understatement. i would not recommend Quick Plates or their service.

Shocking company
Shocking company , charged my daughter twice for 1 plate , emailed them to be told she will need to pay a cancellation fee , why would she need to pay a cancellation fee for being ripped off , never heard back from them , avoid this seller , only put 1 star as I had to , they deserve -stars. Hope your company is shut down very soon

We respond to every email we receive, and we have no record of being unresponsive in this case. If your daughter placed two separate orders, two payments would have been processed. If one of those was made in error, we always offer to cancel in line with our terms — which include a small cancellation fee once production has started, as clearly stated on our website.
We understand it can be frustrating, but we are a transparent, DVLA-registered business and would never “rip off” a customer. We’re always available to resolve any issues fairly when approached directly.
Lastly, we don’t think it’s right or fair to wish job losses on anyone. Our team works hard to deliver a legal, compliant, and efficient service every day — and we’re proud of the work they do.

They should be called “No Plates”
They should be called No Plates. This is a scam. Plates ordered and documents approved and informed plates had been dispatched. A week later when I still didn’t have them, checked tracking with Royal Mail and it said they were waiting for the package. I asked for some more to be sent but that was ignored. Excuses about asking for an enquiry with Royal Mail and no hint as to when I might get the plates. After another few days I ordered somewhere else (UKRegPlates - brilliant service and no more expensive) and asked for a refund but am now being ignored. So no number plates and £40 out of pocket. Won’t be leaving it there and reporting to Trading Standards. Don’t use they are a scam and 1* rating is too high.

We never ignore our customers — if you’ve contacted us, we will have responded. Once we confirm that your documents have been approved and your plates have been dispatched, that means they have physically left our premises. We have absolutely no reason to delay or mislead customers — it serves neither you nor us.
Unfortunately, once an item is handed to Royal Mail, we are reliant on their delivery network. As advised, we did raise an enquiry with them when your tracking showed a delay, which is the correct process. In most cases, Royal Mail resolves these quickly, but delays do occasionally happen, and they are beyond our control.
We’re sorry to hear you chose to go elsewhere, but calling us a scam is not only false — it’s unfair. We are a DVLA-registered number plate supplier, and we operate within strict legal guidelines. If a refund was due, it would be processed in line with our terms. If there’s any outstanding matter, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can resolve it properly.

As a DVLA-registered number plate supplier, we are legally required to request documentation after payment to verify entitlement and ID — this is standard across all legal number plate sellers. It is clearly explained on our website and throughout the checkout process.
Our terms and conditions, which you accepted at the point of purchase, also clearly state this. We don’t “scam” anyone — we follow the law to ensure our plates are 100% road legal and compliant.
