I called days after receiving the free trial to cancel it and Racing TV denied continually that I did. They then went on to threaten me with a collecting agency if I didn't pay the installment if £29.98. They denied many times that I didn't call to cancel the subscription, meaning they could try to rope me into paying a full year's subscription, totalling hundreds of pounds.
I never once used the service, not once!
Their practice has truly sickened me, and I can't believe they've been getting away with this for so long.
Why hasn't anyone tried to expose them?

I have contacted BBC's Watchdog to do just that, and I hope they take up my case, as looking at the complaints here, I think it is justified and a more than winnable case.
I ask anyone who has complained before, and everyone who comes after me, complain to Watchdog. Their email is easily found online.

Received letter today offering discount offer and my account has outstanding balance. i cancelled a long time ago and was forced to pay an extra month which i did reluctantly. no correspondence since then and now threatened by debt collector. letter says email support at racingtv but emails bounce back so tried customerservices at racing tv. no response. very unprofessional and illegal practice as the letter doesnt state amount or why i am in debt.

Scammers.Leave well alone

I've never written a one star review before but Racing TV are a deceptive company who are archaic in the thinking ....its a "company first" philosophy and they just hide behind their "terms and conditions". I was travelling in Europe and keen to watch Royal Ascot so I took up their "free trial" only to find it was a substandard product and I couldn't get what I wanted anyway so I didn't even use their service. A forward thinking company would let the customer know that their free trial period was about to be over and if they wanted to proceed that they would be locked in for a 12 months period but that doesn't suit Racing TV. Absolutely disgraceful after never using their product I'm now paying for a full year. Please read all their fine print because it'll have nothing to do with you or your best interests.

Written three times to customer services over a technical problem. No reply. No dedicated technical email, and the chat line didn't even know where head office was, to field complaints against customer services who are IGNORING subscribers! It looks as if Racing TV are perhaps in financial trouble - they used to be very responsive.

Missed one months payment of 14.99,received a debt collection letter for 134 pounds.
Do not sign up with these scammers

I've tried to contact customer services THREE TIMES about a bad problem with full-screen replays. No reply and the problem persists. Added to the increasing bookie ads (which Racing TV never used to have) my patience is wearing thin, given technical shortcomings, poor customer service and nonchalance towards customers of long-standing.

I have sent email to cancel free trial, I was phoned a few times from customer services chasing me for money I politely told them to check their emails ! Next thing I know is that I receive a debt collection letter through the door! A manager needs to deal with all of these bad reviews

I phoned on the 26th June 2025 and spoke to a lady who informed that she had taken a payment of £29.98 following receiving an email advising this needed to be paid. The lady then went on to inform me no more payments would be made for a whole year and that this was an annual subscription. I have then woken up today to see another payment of £29.98 has been taken out of my account. I then phoned back to your customer service team to be informed that this is actually a monthly subscription and I am locked in for a year.

I cannot believe this as all I did was sign up for a free trial and now have been tied into a monthly contract that I cannot afford after being told it was only one payment for a whole year.

This company make it seem like they’re giving you a great deal / free trial but then actually scam you into paying for something you never signed up for.

Yer another bogus offer went to join but by the time I got to the end they wanted to charge ne £30 a month instead of £12 per month from the offer I received lies lies hence why I left before

Over the last month picture keeps breaking down. Often goes off for several minutes. No attempts to fix it. Phone not answered,

What a shambles. Spoke to them today and they emailed me back stating my new address which them claim I gave them back in August 24….lie.
I didn’t move in till six months after that, I hadn’t even seen this property till Feb 25, a clear breach of client confidentiality.

Stop using a whip on the horses it’s animal abuse

Similar experience to others re renewal but with twist that a very misleading letter I received from them they denied all knowledge of. Same threats re debt collection.
Similar comments re quality of tv content which is not worth several hundred pounds.
Puzzles me how prominent names in racing associate themselves with a 95% one star organisation

They are only interested in locking into contracts that you cannot cancel after free trial, do not be bullied by them report them to broadcasting regulator. Their debt collection agency is a false company owned by themselves, return their post to sender, block their emails and block bank payments. They are gangsters, no wonder racing is going down the tubes.

Absolutely do not subscribe to this service. Turn away and do not look back! Do NOT give them your hard earned cash!

Their app does not work and when calling support they blamed my father in law his new tablet. It is funny though since we are able to watch any video, but of course before we get to watch the actual video we are forced to watch an ad. Even though my father in law is a paying customer (for multiple years). As soon as we touch any playing video the app crashes. There is no way to watch any video in full screen or cast to the TV. My father in law has not so good sigth and wants to watch it as big as possible.
Calling support they told me to watch it through their web browser. Yes, tell that to my 83 year old father in law. My father in law took a long time to learn the app because he loves horse racing, but he does not understand web browsers and does not want to use them. Really, you can not make a working app these days? So many errors with it like constant update messages even when there is non. Crashes, pop-ups telling you to subscribe even though you are already logged in as a paying subscriber. But hé its all down to the wrong tablet......

I called them for my father in law to ask for support but was told it was the device its fault. They refuse to check anything other than saying there are no reported issues. HELLOOOOO, I am reporting one (or more if they would listen)!

But ah well, they do not care about their customers. When I then asked to cancell the subscription the lady made us wait because she wanted to check something to be sure (LOL, so they are able to move when you want to stop paying their fraud). All futille though, we were still told it was our device its fault. Cancelled subscription immediately but they still make my 83 year old dad pay one extra month, that is in the regulations you see. They do not care their service does not work. He needs to pay an additional month not being able to use the app properly before his subscription is really cancelled. However I fear I will be back complaining the subscription was not cancelled by them.

Please, anyone, do not ever register for a paid subscription! Absolutely utter shocking and bad app development and support.

Son subscribed to watch one race back in November but forgot to cancel as he doesn’t use it. So because one month passed he is now tied into a 35 euro payment for a year. Tried to cancel by email and phone but no. This is nothing short of extortion. Their customer service is pathetic.

Rejoined in November after employing discount code Big mistake as the app terrible and there’s much less racing on racing t.v compared to before when a regular customer,. Use through fire stick which causes issues with buffering and automatically goes to last race watched even if that was days before - for a company that’s so popular the app must be improved upon certainly wouldn’t want to be paying the full price
