Couldn’t resist buying another Tempest Original 100 Combo turnout rug 4’ 3” for my super old Shetty to keep us going throughout winter.
Rain doesn’t soak the rug but trickles off. Had some incredible down pours, and where the rug got very wet it didn’t soak through to him.
So far I’m finding these rugs are brilliant.

Good quality, reasonably priced equestrian equipment.
I have to share what an amazing and efficient company Shires are. I order fairly regularly from them on line direct to them and not via a retailer. The stuff always arrives the next day, it is reasonably priced and good quality practical equestrian equipment.

Poor customer experience
Poor customer experience. Purchased the zebtek fly mask, spending double what I did on a previous shires mask.
After a week the stitching started to fail (I was instantly told my horse must have damaged it) , classic blame the customer. The branding also started to peel, and it also rubbed my horses head.
0 apology from shires at any point. I've had to cut the mask up to get my money back. I've been a shires customer for 20 years, but can safely say I won't buy again. So much back and forth, just admit fault, apologise, and send out a replacement that isn't faulty?
I reached out on social media via DM's but was ignored.

Brand new fly mask with fringes worn once and stitching has broken and fringes fallen out. Explanation from Shires is that the horse must have rubbed on something, it is not faulty and they won't exchange or refund without me paying to send it back.
Disappointed
I bought 2 shires rugs (liner and outdoor)from Amazon (church equestrian) and the sizing is ridiculous on the liner. Both rugs are 7 ft and one fits perfectly but the other is really short on the body and nothing like the advert. Unfortunately I have tried it on my horse and tried to use it it so it is not in new condition so the seller won't help. I feel so disappointed when I thought I was setting myself up with a good combination 😭
Shires deluxe hay bag is awful quality
Shires deluxe hay bag is awful quality, £17.99 for it to tear clean across the bottom after a few uses. When complaining to derby house who then contacted shires they intimated I was lying about its use. Wouldn't buy any more of their shoddy products in future.
