I had a terrible experience

I had a terrible experience. I had 6 jobs, which SS assured me could be handled by the employee they sent. When he arrived he explained he couldn’t do 3 of them (for reasons that later turned put to be untrue). He then turned the main stopcock off to fix the shower. He left the shower unfixed, and not known to me left the stopcock turned off. When we had no water at all after he left, I couldn’t contact anyone st SS because their office is closed at the weekend. I had to get another emergency plumber out (I have an elderly and confused mum to look after). By the time he arrived there were airlocks in the system and it cost a lot for me to reinstate our water. SS, when I finally managed to talk to them, said they would not cover a penny of the extra expenditure that was caused by the negligence of their employee. Never use this company, they have underqualified staff, no emergency cover for out of hours (despite being delighted to take the booking for out of hours work), and absolutely no responsibility for damages caused by their own staff. Can’t be trusted.

Dear Susan, I am sorry you have had to leave a review of this nature. I accept that things don't always go according to plan but always try to resolve any issues that may have been caused by one of our technicians.

Again I apologize unreservedly for the stop cock not being turned back on and the stress and frustration this may have caused both you and your mum.

As you know the Saint found a failed stop cock which he was trying to resolve and he simply did not remember that he had turned off another while trying to identify the correct water supply for your property. I'm afraid it is not the first nor last time it will happen to us or any other tradesmen.

I appreciate that you had to call out a 3rd party and, at no stage, have I questioned your reasoning for this or refused to cover this cost. This relates specifically to air locks that you claimed to be having following the water being turned back on. We offered to send one of our own technicians to check the stop cock and remedy the airlocks under guarantee and without charge that same day. You refused this offer and I explained that we wont be able to cover 3rd party costs for ongoing issues which we can resolve ourselves and without delay.

I hope this brings clarity to the situation.

Silver Saints will sort it out

A leaking tap and a shower mastic renewal were needed and Marco arrived on his motorbike the same day, evaluated the jobs and had one sorted within the hour and the tap within a couple of days. Marco worked cleanly and with expertise and I would certainly trust him and Silver Saints to solve my next household dilemma.

Poor communication, but fair resolution in the end

I used Silver Saints to diagnose a hot water cylinder issue, and the experience initially became quite frustrating due to poor communication and lack of follow-through.

What should have been a straightforward repair turned into multiple visits, changing diagnoses and repeated booking mix-ups. On more than one occasion appointments were changed or not properly confirmed, which meant I had to rearrange my schedule to provide access to a vacant property, disrupting my work.

The process ended up costing me significant time and money. However, after raising a formal complaint, a director reviewed the case and handled it professionally. They acknowledged the situation and provided a fair refund, which I appreciate.

Overall, while the initial experience was disappointing, the way it was resolved was reasonable and helped restore some confidence.

Great work from Colin

Great service from Colin from silver saints. Changed some light fittings and hung some mirrors and a curtain pole I could never have done myself! Good to have peace of mind that it's been done properly. And they all look great.

Making the booking was straightforward…

Making the booking was straightforward and I was pleased with how quickly someone was available to come, at a time to suit me.
Alessandro was polite and helpful. He explained what he was doing, and showed me what he had done. He left the work area tidy when he finished. A five star experience.
