We were about to buy from a high street / industrial park well known retailer but we're so pleased we found SW James in our online searches.

For not much more ££ we've acquired pieces of furniture that are miles better quality and value than the cheaper built foreign imported sofas.

We bought without actually sitting in them (200 miles from showroom) but with fantastic pre sales support we were confident on the dimensions and comfort and upon arrival they were perfect .

Even the delivery was excellent with sofas carried in, unpacked and sited .

Compared to the mass retailer who just wanted to sell warranty upgrades and didn't seem to mind the product didn't have more than a years warranty, SW James are a breath of fresh air and their products truly are craftsman built with the best materials and super comfortable.

When I decided to invest in a handmade Chesterfield, and living too far from the showroom to be able to visit in person, I was looking for two key things from the supplier - trustworthiness and a top quality product. After doing my homework I settled on SW James and I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. My gorgeous new sofa is a piece of real craftsmanship as well being genuinely comfortable and beautiful to look at. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from them again.

We definitely would recommend this company. From the day we ordered our sofas to the point of delivery it was a very efficient service. We were kept informed of progress at all stages Our two Archie sofas are fantastic, albeit when they arrived they had the wrong cushions on them. Rang them up and Warren sorted this out and now our Archie chesterfields are perfect, good to sit on and look absolutely amazing.

After researching the best "In-UK" sofa manufacturers over several months, we finally chose SW James and how glad we did. Warren's on-going personal service and the obvious delivered quality of the product were excellent.
Now that we've had it a few months, the seat cushions have relaxed and have become so wonderfully comfortable. It's become one of the family.

The craftsmanship of an handmade product using skilled professionals and quality materials is very impressive. We wanted to replace our existing leather sofa with a "Chesterfield" but couldn't find anything suitable locally in Kent. Then we found the SW James website and the story began.. We chose the "Kempster" 2 seater sofa in dark brown vintage leather as it was a similar size to our existing sofa, then placed the order after speaking with Warren to confirm our exact requirements. Warren kept us updated throughout the various stages of construction, and around 8 weeks later our new sofa was ready for delivery.
The delivery was accurate and fuss free. Sure enough there was our beautiful hand made sofa, oozing quality and English craftmanship.

We have been researching sofas for our lounge for some time and to be honest dismissed Chesterfields as being a bit on the firm side and too large.
Then we came across SW James's claim of Chesterfields, hand made in Britain AND built for comfort.
We met Warren at the showroom and voiced our other concerns about size and style and he reassured us that, being hand made by craftsmen our wishes could be achieved.
On the 20th June our new Chesterfield was delivered with great care.Unwrapped and the feet that we had requested fitted.
To say we are pleased with the service, delivery, attention to detail and now we have had the opportunity to experience the comfort, would be a gross understatement.

First up, I rarely leave reviews, however, S W James is such a great company to work with, I feel they deserve the feedback. From my first contact with Warren to the sofas being delivered, I couldn't have asked for more. I chose to visit the showroom and learned from Warren, just what goes into making S W James Chesterfields so special - a classic Chesterfield design brought up to date, designed for maximum comfort not just looks, and carefully hand made in Cheshire by old school craftsmen, using only the very best materials . I didn't expect them to be so comfortable, to me, you don't sit on an S W James sofa, it feels as though you sit in it, it is just so comfortable. I must have spent two hours chatting with Warren and before I left, placed an order for 3 x three seater Huxley in Honey hide - they are fabulous. In conclusion if you are looking for the very best design, comfort, quality and service, then give S W James a call, you will not be disappointed.

I shopped around for sometime before ordering from S.W.James and definitely made the right choice. Superb craftsmanship producing a very high quality product, first class service with excellent communication throughout, on time delivery. Coupled to this a thoroughbred UK business, unlike other companies S.W.James do not have items manufactured in low cost centers like China, Vietnam and India to then assemble in UK but make everything by hand in their UK workshop. Price wise they are competitive and managed everything including delivery to our home, the delivery company will also remove and dispose of your old furniture. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

We were looking for the perfect chesterfield leather sofa for some time. I'm 6' 2" tall with one artificial hip and the other dodgy :). So, it had to be high enough and firm enough to provide sufficient back support and easy to get up from. Thankfully we came across SW James and made a viewing appointment with Warren. There was no selling pressure - just listening to our requirements and informative answering of our questions. Warren suggested the 4 seater Huxley which has ticked all boxes. As well as being aesthetically beautiful we love it's sturdiness. Sit down with glass of whisky, rest said glass on the back of the sofa, stand up, sit back down - and there is barely a ripple in the glass. It is that solid. As far as service goes, Warren explained the manufacturing process, told us the leadtimes - and contacted us at each stage to update on progress. It was delivered on time, the delivery team were great - and the after sales service excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to go to S W James again - a great customer experience.

My wife and I were looking to replace our old sofa and chair which we had in our dining room. It was really important to us that both the new sofa and chair were an exact match in colour. We didn't want odd coloured leather furniture! Believe me we tried other companies and ended up with shocking colour matches. We researched and came across SW James and Warren. We had swatches sent to us and we're assured that what ever leather is used for the sofa will be used for the armchair. We also wanted the legs to match the colour of the wooden furniture in our dining and Warren very kindly had them French polished to the colour we wanted. Our new furniture sits proudly in our dining room and we are so pleased with them. We've had them several months now and you can still smell the leather. If you want good quality furniture then I would highly recommend S W James. Another great thing is Warren gets in touch to see if all is well with your new purchase. Where else would you get that attention to detail?

On Friday last week I received my brand new beautifull set of Mini Monty Sofas and Clementine Chair of SW James. I have to say I am impressed about the quality of the product and high level of overall finish. It was very well spend money for this beautiful piece of furniture which makes my living room really special. One of the best companies I have ever purchased from! We got our leather Chesterfield more than 5 years ago and when we realised this year that some buttons were missing, we thought we might give S.W. James a call to see if they could help - we weren't expecting much to be fair! But boy were we surprised when we got a prompt email from Warren within less than 24 hrs from me calling, asking for photos of our Chesterfield and providing not only great advice on how to bring back to life our Monty but also offering to send the missing buttons so that we can have them replaced by the service company they work with.

It is customer service like this that differentiates S.W. James from any other provider. I am very happy we got our sofa from them, they are the best!
