The Chocolate Smiths are just an amazing company all round. They not only, continuously provide customers with endless amounts of incredible chocolate creations… they are a company that cares and has a passionate for quality in everything they do and represent. This is applied to their company, staff, ethos and their product. I think they’re fantastic!
My only complaints would be:
1. They are absolute teases and I do not approve that exceptional chocolate creations are only available for a limited time… and
2. Although I’m told, repeatedly and often, that I spend too much money on chocolate (which is probably true as far as my bank are concerned) but I also do not have enough of it (because now everybody knows about them and I have to work to buy the chocolate duh so obvs I keep missing restocks).
Other than that…

Speed is the essence
If you enjoy the frill of the chase and good chocolate the Chocolate Smiths are fabulous and special even down to the packaging and the ethos. Be prepared when you order as speed is essential ,I had 3 separate attempts before I succeeded , but it was worth it.

Dissapointed
I was disappointed ,I bought the mystery box as that was all I could get ,I was excited to try for the first time.
Unfortunately I received two bars that contained coffee which gives me migraines,don't get me wrong I get its a mystery box but surely the packers could make sure not to duplicate flavours especially coffee, coffee is not for everyone, I feel I wasted my money

Our Mystery Boxes are designed as a lucky dip, made up from what we have available at the time — and while we do our best to avoid duplicates, occasionally it can happen, especially during busy periods. That said, we completely understand how disappointing it must have felt to receive two bars with coffee, especially given your sensitivity to it. ☕️
While we can’t customise mystery boxes, we’ll absolutely pass this feedback to the team — it’s really helpful, and we’re always working to improve how we pack and balance flavours. If you’d ever like to try us again, we’d recommend selecting from individual bars when stock allows — that way, you can avoid any ingredients that don’t work for you.

Not for me I’m afraid
I was really excited to finally get an order from The Chocolate Smiths. But I’m sorry to say I don’t particularly like the chocolate or flavour combinations and obviously quite expensive having ordered a mini bar selection box. Probably won’t order again.

We completely understand that our bars are a little different — we love playing with bold, nostalgic, and sometimes unexpected flavour combinations, and while that means we sometimes miss the mark for some, it’s all part of what makes our range unique.
We know our chocolate is priced higher than mass-produced bars, but everything is handcrafted in small batches using ethically sourced chocolate from Luker in Colombia, and we’re proud to pay living wages and support small suppliers — it’s all part of the care that goes into every bar. 🍫✨

I bought the chocolate for my wife for Christmas and her face lit up when she opened the gift.
However the nut roast was insanely salty and she didn’t like that one. She was trying to shave the salt off to eat it lol

I’ve been so excited to try the chocolate smiths. I knew I was going to set an alarm and bag some bars for Christmas. The packaging is beautiful. Every detail is just utter perfection. That alone gets 5 stars. But sadly the taste just didn’t pack a punch like I expected it to. I have followed you for years and watched you grow on social media and I see the hard work that goes into the making of the bars. I can appreciate the quality of the chocolate. But if I was to close my eyes and taste the bars I wouldn’t be able to tell you what they were. The best one I got was the French toast bar. That had some great flavour profiles. The geordie was a great eat texturally, and the stroop waffle bar also. My main find was that the caramel needed to pack more of a punch of it did the French toast bar would have been a 10/10. Some sea salt would have elevated it to a whole new level. The texture was great - but taste wise it just tasted sweet - that’s it. The coffee in the stroop waffle bar was a very low flavour profile. Could definitely add more to it. I know you take feedback on board - I post this with the upmost respect to you and your business.

Krystyna is a star
I stupidly placed two orders a few hours apart and then emailed to combine the orders.
Krystyna was super helpful, even when there was an issue with some of the chocolate bars not arriving all at the same time.
She was polite, helpful and gave reassurance that the issue would be sorted.
Chocolate itself is delicious. Favourites wonder are the fifty bar by a country mile followed by the baklava bar and coffee and stroopwaffle bar.

Been a customer since the early days!
I have bought chocolate from these guys since they first started and buy it as a treat to myself every now and again. Never disappoints and for a bit of self love - worth the money. Yes it’s a bit more expensive but isn’t all the things in life that matter! Postage costs are a bit of hit but hey that’s just the way it is now. I’m now a subscriber again as I once was in years gone by so yeah give them a shot!

Krystyna was amazing. Bought a ticket for an event as a Christmas present. I got a novelty ticket printed and sent it to the Chocolate smiths who wrapped it up in a bar of the coffee and stroopwaffel chocolate like something from Charlie and the chocolate factory.
The chocolate is incredible anyway which is why I asked them to do this but Thankyou Krystyna for going the extra mile and helping me out with my request. My wife loved it.

Totally worth it!
This company takes a while to deliver because they are small but it is so worth the wait!
I've had a couple of orders from them now and the quality of product is exquisite. I can recommend the black forest and nana's biscuit tin.
Great as a fancy treat or as a gift, I highly recommend!

Over priced and over hyped
This was my first and last time buying anything from the chocolate smiths. I purchased the dunk cookie collaboration bar. It took 3 weeks to arrive from date of purchase. The bar was a cookie slab, covered in caramel and coated in the thinnest layer of chocolate possible. €20.95 plus shipping for the quality that you receive is disgusting. With the price being so high I thought the shipping might be free, but nope, that’s an additional charge. And before I forget the expiration date is ridiculous. January was the expiration on the label. Not the end of January but the beginning. Very short shelf life.
The cookie was a bit oily with no real flavour beyond that. Now I’m not the biggest lover of biscoff to begin with but the biscoff spread was palatable. Better than what I expected in terms of flavour.
The chocolate was absolutely vile. Tasted like cheap, low quality ingredients. Wavy, tangy and sugary is the best way to describe the flavour. I’d go as far saying American chocolate tastes better than this. If the ingredients list are to be believed there was 48.6% cocoa solids in the recipe, so I’ll commend you on that. Also the chocolate portion of this bar was wafer thin, which broke way too easily. A toddler would be able to crack the layer of chocolate. To fill the gap, caramel was pumped in. Obviously done to cut costs and drive up profit margins.
The box presentation seemed to have gotten the most funding as it was actually well put together. The wrapper was cheap paper and printed from a cheap printer and ink. The gold aluminium foil was very thin and not at all sturdy.
It is clear as day that this company is all about producing the lowest of quality, while charging extortionate prices to have the biggest profit margins possible. Price per gram, I can get 100 times the quality for half the price from other companies. Oh and those other companies don’t add on shipping as an additional cost.

Firstly, the chocolate used in our bars is Luker Chocolate, sourced directly from Colombia. Luker is recognised globally for its exceptional quality and ethical sourcing. It supports smallholder cocoa farmers and pays significantly above market rates — values we’re proud to support, even though it comes at a higher cost to us. This is not low‑quality or budget chocolate — it’s some of the best available.
The Dunk Cookie bar was part of a limited-edition collaboration, designed to celebrate another brilliant small business we carefully chose for the quality of their products. Our collab bars are handcrafted in small batches and are intentionally indulgent — with textures like cookie, caramel, and chocolate in balance. The thinner chocolate shell is a deliberate design choice to complement, not overpower, the other elements — not a cost-saving measure.
We understand the shelf life felt short, but that’s actually a positive: our collaboration bars are made fresh and contain no preservatives, which naturally limits their best-before date to around two weeks. This speaks to the quality and freshness of the ingredients — not a flaw in the product.
Shipping is charged separately at cost, and always made clear at checkout. As a small independent business shipping handcrafted items internationally, we don’t build postage into our pricing — we prefer transparency.
Taste is, of course, subjective, and we fully respect that our bars won’t be for everyone. But to say we are driven by high margins and low quality simply isn’t true — we’re deeply committed to working with ethical suppliers, paying a living wage, and supporting other small makers who care about quality as much as we do.
