Stayed in Liverpool Z Hotel
Stayed in Liverpool Z Hotel, I cried when I walked into the room! It was so small, the ‘bathroom’ was two frosted glass panels, no privacy. It was so so hot, on the eighth floor and the window was sealed, there was air conditioning but it was very weak. I am asthmatic and I thought I was going to pass out with the heat. Wouldn’t have minded so much, but we paid £250 for two nights stay, through booking.com. Won’t use them again either. The mattress protector was disgusting, covered in loads of blood and ‘other’ stains! Ironic as there was a hanging on the door saying cleanliness was next to godliness!
Stylish value for money hotels in…
Stylish value for money hotels in really handy locations. I have stayed in 2 locations many times in London and my stays have always been excellent. Would fully recommend for business or city break.
I stayed in the z hotel Glasgow
I stayed in the z hotel Glasgow, Paul and Carolina served us all night, they made us feel so welcome and couldn’t have asked for a better set of people during our stay in Glasgow. When we come again we will Definitely stay here again.
Trafalgar z hotel
Trafalgar z hotel. Small room but £50 for a night in central London I couldn’t fault it. From the cleaners to the receptionists, they was all so friendly. Clean room and lovely white towels. Plus the added bonus of feather pillows. 10/10
We were finally heard!
We bought 2 double rooms at The Z Hotel Trafalgar through Booking.com for the night of 20/11/21 to celebrate our daughter's 20th birthday. The plan was that after dinner and drinks, she would go clubbing with friends and we would see a show and reconvene at the hotel.
She was due to travel down to us in London from Bournemouth first thing on Saturday when we received a call from a friend to say that she'd become unwell; he'd called an ambulance. I called the hotel straight after he'd rang (approximately 9am) to speak with them directly but reception explained I'd need to email their duty manager. In emailing I noted that the hotel was fully booked and felt that they may hopefully have enough time to resell the bookings - check-in wasn't until 3pm. They replied to say that they have a strict policy regarding refunds but that I would be allowed to rebook as long as I made contact within a week.
By this time we were at the hospital and learned that our daughter was seriously ill. We stayed by her bedside for almost 24hrs before checking in to a local hotel exhausted to get some sleep. I managed to reply to Z Trafalgar updating them on how grave the situation was, how much stress we were under and that I would submit hospital records to substantiate what I had informed them of already; requesting that I be refunded under theses extenuating circumstances.
The hotel replied that I had until March '22 to make a booking or could gift the rooms to friends or family.
Our daughter is currently a long-term patient in a hospital over 100 miles from where we live; we will be travelling this distance regularly to see her. We really don't need the extra stress of re-organising our booking, never mind gifting the rooms. We feel that Z Hotel Trafalgar are displaying an utter lack of compassion in not refunding us. We've enjoyed a previous stay at Z Shoreditch and this will be the last time we'll ever stay or recommend this hotel chain again. I feel shattered by their lack of humanity.
UPDATE - I received a full refund and a really kind email. Thank you so much.
Rude Awakening
We stayed at Z Hotel City in London. We were woken at 3am by a very noisy alarm in our room. I ran down to reception to work out what was going on. My wife started to dress our young children. We assumed it was a fire alarm but I quickly realised there were no alarms elsewhere. The man on reception said he would come to our room. He arrived and proceeded to use various tools to try and silence the alarm. I recorded this bizarre scene on video as proof of our experience, a strange man on the floor next to our bed in a very small room struggling to silence the alarm. The man finally succeeded and said it was something to do with a faulty gas alarm. He was apologetic and said to talk to the manager in the morning. My son had been seriously ill in hospital in the lead up to this get away so we weren't sure about travelling with him. However we decided we all needed a break from reality. This rude awakening was absolutely awful and quite traumatic for both our son and daughter but the manager assured us that something would be done in terms of compensation. I have written to Z Hotels directly twice and had no response whatsoever. The staff at the hotel were very sympathetic and we really felt like they cared about us. However the management at the company have certainly displayed no empathy for our experience whatsoever. We really would have appreciated at the very least an apology in writing.
Dealing with the people at z hotel has…
Dealing with the people at z hotel has been the worst experience I've ever had in all my years of booking hotels.
Be careful when booking this hotel the service I received was shocking and I lost out of my booking fee and apparently even if it's their error they refused to refund you as it's company policy it's very risky booking with these people.
Take this as a friendly warning especially with z hotel strand. You will get ripped off!!! Stay Away!!!
Sad to say the worst hotel I have ever…
Sad to say the worst hotel I have ever experienced and such a shame!
I spent one night at the Z Hotel Covent Garden last night and the experience was nothing short of awful.
I was given a room in the basement of the hotel, which I was fine with, the room itself was fine (basic but clean and efficient). However upon climbing into bed I was met with continuous bang and stomping sounds coming from above me - as though people were moving furniture around. It was so loud that even putting in headphones and playing music did not drown out the racket coming from above. And this continued all night - from 1am all the way through to 6am. Upon asking the next morning if there were any rooms on the ground floor of the hotel, the reception told me “no there are no guest rooms on the ground floor” - so the sound being made all night was coming from the Night porters/staff.
Now being able to sleep when in a hotel room is probably the most important aspect of the function of the room. And being kept awake all night due to actions of the staff is just totally unacceptable.
Sad to say I won’t ever be staying with Z Hotels again. The experience left me understandably exhausted and drastically effected my ability to work the next day.
Tiny little overpriced rooms. Rude staff
Really disappointed with this hotel- location is amazing but NOT worth £350. Would have preferred a Travelodge which just up the road. The room is tiny, pokey bathroom with no privacy, no wardrobe or fridge.
Staff are lazy and don’t want to know. Couldn’t even give us a few cubes of ice.
Book a Travelodge and save some money!
Would book again!
Super friendly staff! Really lovely room for the night! Great TV and channels, coffee selection, big shower, towels and soaps/shamps, middle of town! Very easy check in and check out :) thank you for a great stay!

We stayed for 2 nights at the Z Hotel in Kingsway. It was a great location and the room although small was clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly Adam the night manager.

This brand of hotels provides excellent service and the staff are very accommodating. They really cater for the need of their guests. I.e I had been travelling for a business trip a week ago, they had food available for guests at 12 am, and the staff also helped with local amenities.
Stayed in Bath Z hotel
Stayed in Bath Z hotel. For the price I don't think you will beat this hotel. Rooms are small but how big does it need to be? Great location, big comfortable bed, big tv with sky sports, sky tv and powerful shower. The free cheese and wine in the evening is absolutely brilliant hopefully they keep doing that! Would defiantly use again.
Disappointed I didn't find them sooner!
Such a wonderful hotel group, they have got everything right in my opinion. The rooms are small, but perfectly formed, with comfy beds, big TV's and excellent showers and towels. The added bonus of complimentary cheese and wine between 5-8pm makes my heart sing! I have stayed in 3 different London locations now and have loved them all, can't wait to go back and try more. Well done Z Hotels, I love the customer-centric vibe you have produced.
basement room 200 metes away from hotel !
I am massive fan of Z hotels but put in a basement 200 metres from the actual hotel !!
The noise from the main road and pedestrians was unbearable but too make matters worse the floorboards in room above were squeaking with every move and no noise insulation for the plumbing
Sorry Z but got no ZZZZZZ sleep before an important meeting.
If you are going to convert basements into rooms suggests your CEO stays there first to test it before clients use - may be they would be up for it as a challenge ?
Stayed at Z Gloucester Place in London.
Stayed at Z Gloucester Place in London.
Warm welcome and only £79 on a Saturday night. We used the room service facility at 2am and it was delivered swiftly and food warm and good.
Rooms are immaculate shower is fantastic.
I am a bit baffled as to how they can offer such great value for money.
