Warning – Do Not Confuse This Dealership With DZD Cars
I recently bought a car from the dealership located directly opposite DZD Cars and the experience was absolutely horrible.
The dealership asked for cash only and did not provide proper receipts or vehicle logbooks, which was extremely concerning. After the purchase, there were multiple problems and the whole situation was very disappointing.
It is very important to make this clear: DZD Cars is a completely separate and independent business and had absolutely nothing to do with this sale or dealership.
The place where I bought the car is located right opposite and the place looks very similar, which can easily cause customers to think they are dealing with DZD Cars when they are not.
Because of this confusion, DZD Cars has been unfairly receiving negative reviews for vehicles they did not sell and have absolutely nothing to do with.
Another major issue is that DZD Cars cannot respond to or manage these reviews because they are being posted on an account that does not belong to them, so the real business cannot reply to explain the situation.
To be completely clear:
DZD Cars did not sell the vehicle, was not involved in the transaction, and has absolutely no connection to that dealership or the cars they are selling.
If you are planning to buy a vehicle in this area, please double-check exactly which dealership you are dealing with before making a purchase or leaving a review.

Avoid! Not only do they take your vehicle back they will not refund you.

Update review following on from my previous post as things have gotten worse.
I had many parking fines in my car which was returned within the 30 days and all legal my side however they refused to refund me and gave me many excuses. I wasn't handing over the logbook till the money was in my account.
This never happened and they managed to get the logbook changed through the DVLA and what a surprise I'm yet to get my money back so not only do they have my car they also have my money.
They ignored all my emails for the car to be returned! So not only do they sell doggy car they will steal your money and your vehicle if you return it!!.
they have left me in a lot off stress and I'm still without a vehicle 9 months later..
Scammers
Scammers, plain and simple
I contacted Rod for a Nissan Qashqai. He told me the car is in high demand and that I should put down a deposit. Which I did.
On the day of collection he told me the car needs a service. After several attempts to contact him and weeks later the car was not ready.
He offered me an alternative car, to which I agreed to purchase. It was a Jaguar XE.
Same issue, Rod told me he was not able to procure the car. I asked for my deposit back to which he refused.
Told me that deposit is not refundable as he took the car off sale. I explained to him the car was not ready for sale anyways and he just messed me around for weeks.
Unfortunately after chasing multiple times, I had no choice but to give up. This happened last year but I am surprised that he is still trading and as it seems he is still scamming people.
Please someone get this guy arrested!

I WISH I had seen reviews pre purchase but they change their company name almost after every sale and dissolve the company.
I had bough a car for £5k being told there is no oil leaks, its got the right coolant and oil. All false.
I took it for a health check after things started to go wrong and I was quotes £3,500 for repairs.
Stupidly I went back to claim my "warranty". Which they then said they cannot afford?
The best thing I can do is split the bill with them on their garage right nextdoor- ALSO DO NOT TRUST*.
I then stupidly spent 1.5k on repairs there.
These repairs did more harm than good, they would be fine for a couple of days and then would cause more problems.
They charged me more than necessary looking back at it. Instead of replacing some parts they just did workarounds saying they have done it and charged me for parts they did not put on- verified by a now trusted mechanic.
I ended up blowing some parts such as my alternator (another £350 to replace by another mechanic) and my diverter valve which was blown by then rooting the turbo around the solenoid instead of replacing the solenoid as they promised and charged me £400 for which I then replaced for £80 by my mechanic.
My thermostat then blew which was even more money and they also caused me 2 more break downs because the "new" coils they provided me were from 2006...
They showed up late to their dealership, delayed me 2 weeks to stitch the seat which was another botched job.
DO NOT AT WHATEVER COST go to this "dealership".
Avoid Thorpe Lea Motors, DZD Cars Ltd, and Urban Cars at all costs.
Avoid Thorpe Lea Motors, DZD Cars Ltd, and Urban Cars at all costs.
My experience with this dealership was appalling from start to finish. The advertisement for the car was deceitful — the listed price excluded hidden fees of £250 that were only revealed later. When I arrived (after driving 1.5 hours), the staff were an hour late to their own dealership. The salesman was extremely pushy and rude, and the entire team came across as disorganised and dismissive.
After purchase, they admitted they didn’t have the V5C document — something that should have been ready before sale. They promised to send it along with the spare key once found. To their credit, they provided a V62 form and even covered the cost, but they filled it out incorrectly, resulting in it being rejected by the DVLA and wasting another week of my time.
When I followed up, they said they had finally located the V5C and spare key — but never bothered to contact me. I had to repeatedly chase them, calling multiple times a day just to get a photo of the document. Each time, they were rude, dismissive, and clearly frustrated that I was persisting in asking for what was rightfully mine. They promised callbacks that never happened, gave vague answers, and offered no proof of postage when the V5C failed to arrive.
This level of unprofessionalism and deceit is completely unacceptable. I genuinely don’t know how this business is still operating. I urge anyone considering buying from them to read the other reviews and take them seriously — they reflect the same untrustworthy behaviour I experienced.
Do not make the mistake I did. Stay far away from Thorpe Lea Motors, DZD Cars Ltd, and Urban Cars.
Major rip off, do NOT buy cars from them.
I don’t usually leave reviews but I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t and could’ve stopped someone from having to deal with what I have.
I bought a car through car gurus as the business was listed as a car gurus partner leading me to believe that they were a trusted and reliable business. Everything was arranged for my car to be delivered and was going well, the car was delivered and the next day I found what I believed to be an oil leak, which yes sure they payed £400 to fix. However the garage confirmed that Infact the turbo was on its last legs and would need replacing which is going to cost me up to £1400, since I cannot go without a vehicle or I won’t be able to work. I have emailed the business and sent letters which have been completely ignored.
Since this happened I did some more research and found some troubling reviews which I didn’t see previous to buying the car or I wouldn’t have bothered. This reviews all state the same thing having happened to them and that they are selling cars under multiple business names including Thorpe Lea Motors and DZD Cars Limited.
Do not waste your time or money here!
Dealing in sub standard cars
Dealing in sub standard cars. I bought a car from them. They are also know as Urban Cars, DZD cars, Thorpe Cars. Stay clear of anyone selling cars from 13b Thorpe Industrial estate. There are multiple sellers there but there all the same company, it just depends how long the cars been there. Looks like they buy cars for scrap them get a dodgy MOT. My cars engine management system came on after less than 4 days. Basically the cars a wreck and needs serious repairs. I've contacted them multiple times and they now ignore me. They have no website, no email just a phone number. I've alerted Autotrader and Trading standards. This isn't just a small operation! Walk AWAY. I urge everyone to contact autotrader and trading standards.
AVOID AVOID
AVOID AVOID. Thorpe Lea Motors Now trading as DZD Cars. Knowingly sold my daughter a car with a faulty clutch ( they told us it had been replaced). One week after purchase, the clutch failed. They refused to communicate, or accept the car back ( despite Consumer laws). Never filed the sale paperwork with DVLA either. We are now planning to take them to small claims. We are not the only ones, there are lots of other review sites saying the same about this set up. DO not buy anything from them

How to find Thorpe Car Centre?
Hi, we have been frauded as many of you by these scammers. Does anybody have their post address?
We naively bought a car from this…
We naively bought a car from this garage for £4500 and had to spend £1500 to get it road worthy and the next day we were alerted by our trusted garage that it had serious corrosion, brake issues and many other faults but they got it safe and road worthy as we needed a car for hospital appointments. We immediately called Thorpe Car Centre and the owner verbally agreed to pay towards the repairs however quickly after that call he stopped answering my later calls and emails. Just 6000 miles later the MOT expires and has now been condemned as unsafe with 13 major issues. The previous MOT mentions none of these long term deterioration issues. We have filed a case with citizens advice bureau and will be seeking legal action as we have been driving a death trap with a new baby. Reading this I am disgusted and these criminals need to be held accountable and monies repaid. If you are one of the below please write a comment that you have seen this and we will work out how we can get in touch to join forces and seek compensation.
Do NOT purchase a car here
Horrible experience, bought a mercedes and i've spent over £4000 on repairs every month since purchase.
Dishonest people and complete liars. Was promised money back after certain replacements and repairs but all I got was them not answering anymore of my calls after I paid them.
Do NOT purchase a car from them.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If I could give them Minus stars I would shocking after sales bought a car from these people got delivered on a flat bed took it straight into a local garage to have it looked over needed over £1000 worth of repairs also sold with 2 bald tyres at the front didn't notice till they had gone and various scratches on the windscreen an extra £220 for a new one spoke to Adam numerous times assured us that the warranty would cover most and they would come to some arrangement with us lucky for us or unlucky the warranty covered just about £550 so we were about an extra £800 or so worse off this is when they stopped picking up the phone and took down the website avoid at all cost
Jaguar Purchase
Unprofessional outfit,Car sold to me was not as advertised, delivered in a filthy state, covered in diesel, car was scratched on every panel, complained to the management, who agreed to reimburse me partial costs.Despite numerous e mails, forwarding bank details etc,i am still waiting for the refund.Would not recommend this Car Dealership to anybody, steer well clear.
Very dissapointed, complete waste of time
My wife called the garage 1 hour before to confirm it was ok to test drive a Mercedes B Class (reg LM62 BZD). The garage responded that the car was available and we will be able to test drive it. The place was difficult to find and each road getting closer to the garage was like going into a slum, massive potholes, cars parked everywhere and closed down businesses. When we arrived they couldn't find the car, the yard was crammed with cars and we thought as they are almost piled up it would be blocked. After 10 minutes we are told the car was given in courtesy. There was no other car available or any alternatives. I would avoid this cowboys as they have no control over the cars, very poor customer service and can't imagine what could happen if anything goes wrong after buying the car. Complete waste of time despite we were eager to buy the car and agreeing to pay this dodgy admin fee (so it shows in the search results with other with lower prices).
Uncaring, unprofessional and uninterested.
Uncaring, unprofessional and uninterested, sums up my experience of Thorpe Car Centre.
The staff don't return telephone calls and respond to emails if and when they can be bothered. This was at the initiall enquiry stage. Needless to say, I didn't continue with my enquiry. Their attitude stinks, and I wouldn't buy a pair of rollerskates from them. What! a bunch of amateurs!
Firstly could not find the place
Firstly could not find the place, happened to see one of the cars advertised on side of road not in a very nice condition.
Stopped to ask a guy in a really rundown part of the industrial estate who said yes what cars as they are dotted about all over the place, literally got out of there definitely not a very encouraging place to want to buy from.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
Avoid this so-called 'company' at all costs! I purchased a £15k BMW from them 2 weeks ago, and within 2 days of it arriving, the vehicle wouldn't start. I thought this was just a simple dead battery but after taking it to the garage I was shocked at their diagnosis. First of all, they informed me the vehicle had been in an accident at was a Cat S. This is despite the 'salesman' at this dump of a 'dealership' telling me the car had no accident history. He showed me a HPI check on the Autotrader listing, and that stated no accident history. How they've managed to do that I'll never know. The garage has found multiple errors with the car, with cables being unplugged from the battery, water damage etc, which explains why the car won't start unless jumped. The most shocking diagnosis came from the garage when they test drove the car, and the throttle cut-out at 40mph. Almost causing a serious accident. I've been in touch with the company but to no avail, they just do not want to know. AVOID
