They are extracting money from my bank with threats of force.

Stay away from Dunelm in Swansea. I will not forget this event.

Avoid Tanners Lane Car Park / TPS Kettering

Someone paid for 3 hours at Tanners Lane car park, Kettering and left after 2 hours. I as car keeper I was later shocked to get an aggressive PCN demand for £100. Their online appeals form requires me to admit liability BEFORE outlining my appeal. They refused to supply the information requested by letter and they are now threatening me with debt collectors. I am an OAP and scared of what they will do to me. I am so scared that I have used someone else's account to let people know how terrible they are and have changed the date for fear of reprisals.

Signage in TPS carparks is too small

Signage in TPS carparks is too small. They served a penalty notice to my disabled 85 year old dad, charging him GBP40 for overstaying, but the 2 hour rule was, in my opinion, not adequately displayed, and they should remember that people with disabilities can't just walk all over the carpark on a whim to read the text on a small signage board. The directors of this company clealy have a lack of ethics. Nasty, mean behaviour from TPS.

A Shocking Example of How Broken This System Is

My experience with Total Parking Solutions (TPS) and POPLA has been nothing short of appalling. I have never dealt with a process so confusing, inconsistent, and fundamentally unfair and I say that as someone who provided every piece of evidence imaginable to show I had paid correctly for my parking session.

I parked in a courtesy vehicle while my own car was at Audi for repairs. The PayByPhone app auto-filled my usual registration, and I unknowingly paid for the wrong plate but I DID pay, and I provided the receipt, timestamps, and even official proof that my actual car wasn’t even at the location.

Despite this, TPS chose to ignore all context and treated this as “non-payment,” even though they explicitly admitted in their own correspondence that this was a recognised major keying error under the government’s Single Code of Practice. They originally stated the charge should be reduced, then inexplicably pursued a higher amount and left me to navigate a system that seems designed to confuse and exhaust the motorist.

POPLA’s involvement was just as disappointing. They appeared to simply rubber-stamp the operator’s position, dismissing clear evidence and ignoring the operator’s own earlier acknowledgement. Their conclusion felt detached from the facts, detached from fairness, and detached from the very guidance they are meant to uphold.

The entire ordeal highlights how broken this private parking ecosystem is opaque processes, inconsistent logic, zero proportionality, and no genuine consideration for motorists acting in good faith. I’ve been left with the firm impression that these systems prioritise revenue over reason, and procedure over fairness.

I will be sharing this experience widely, because no one should have to fight this hard when they have done the right thing and paid for their parking. If you ever find yourself dealing with TPS or relying on POPLA for a fair assessment, be prepared: this process is slow, stressful, and shockingly unsympathetic.

Avoid parking on land managed by TPS where possible, because even paying correctly isn’t enough to protect you.

Horrendous company with terrible…

Horrendous company with terrible customer service.
Just make it up as they go & ignore all the facts while making threats of fines, charges & court action.
Hope they lose any parking accreditation they advertise as having!
They won’t admit they’re wrong but reduced a £60 fine to £20 to bring an end to this. Why reduce the fine if I am in the wrong?!

I was fined for a supposed ‘all day’…

I was fined for a supposed ‘all day’ parking of my company vehicle by Total Parking Solutions.
The fine went to the company secretary who paid it immediately but once I was informed of this I was able to PROVE that I had actually been into that car park twice on the same day with each visit being in the permitted 1hour window! We requested a refund and this was refused on the grounds that the fine had been paid in full and THAT closed the case! Total con!

horrorful company

I went to park at one of them parking because my 8 years old daughter needed a eyes checked at the hospital . I did try to put money on the app to get more parking time but the app didn't worked . the result is I was parking 20 minutes over time . 2 weeks later I have received a fine of £60 . total parking didn't wanted to know anything , according to them I should have leave my daughter with strangers at the hospital to go at the car park and put more money if that app didn't worked . completely cold hearted peoples . my advice is if you see a car park named total parking please leave that place to find somewhere else

Total Parking Solutions - AVOID COMPANY

Total Parking Solutions have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The only way to contact them is via email which they don't respond to; The only thing i got was an automated response to a PCN they have issued incorrectly. I have spoken to Halfords staff that use this company and they say they don't even get a response as their customer. If you are a company or organisation considering using Total Parking Solutions, then I would avoid at all cost as their association will paint your company in a bad light.

Bristol Royal Infirmary

My wife visited her father who was seriously ill at Bristol Royal Infirmary several times during a one week period. We setup the 'trust app' on her phone to pay for parking, and set 'Autopay' for her vehicle to 'on'. This appeared to work fine and the funds were being taken automatically from her account. However, 3 weeks later we received a notice from TPS stating that she had not paid for one of her visits. When we checked we found that indeed, the payment for that visit had not been taken. However, this was confusing as the 'Autopay' was still set to 'on' for her vehicle. I challenged the fine but stated we were willing to pay the actual parking charge. TPS wrote back to me and said they had checked their technology and all was working fine, and the parking fine would stand. My message to anyone is do not trust the 'Trust' app if parking in the Infirmary car parks. There is no way to prove the technology is at fault, and you are at the mercy of TPS (who from other reviews do not appear the most ethical of companies).

Payment machine not working neither was…

Payment machine not working neither was the scan payment app - no intercom to speak to someone no cameras to show how many times we tried to pay, so we had no choice but to leave, but they made sure the number plate recognition camera was working.

We appealed ponting out how could we possibly pay when the machine wasnt working or the app, and there is no way of communicating with them. But of course this was all ignored, get a letter back stating its well sign posted all around Wicksteed Park so there for in contravention of their rules not to pay, what dont they understand when you tell them - your machine or app wasnt working, its down to you to maintain it.

They must have made an absolute damn fortune that day and many others I dare say, making sure the machine is out of action but the number plate recognition is working absolutely fine, coincidence I think not. Absolute cowboys

Absolutely THE Worst Company EVER

Total Parking Solutions (TPS) is, without exaggeration, one of the most appalling businesses I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. It’s truly baffling that they are allowed to continue operating with such blatantly unethical and predatory practices.

I made a mistake - I parked at one of their car parks and received a fine for leaving the site on foot. Fair enough. I accepted the fine and paid the reduced amount the very next day.

End of story? Not even close.

Two weeks later, I received what turned out to be a duplicate fine for the exact same incident. I assumed it was just a clerical error or a follow-up letter. I’d paid, so I ignored it. Another two weeks passed, and I received a final demand—threatening escalation over a fine I had already settled.

I contacted TPS to explain. Instead of acknowledging their error, I was told I had to appeal. I did - but was informed that my appeal was submitted outside of their arbitrary 28-day window, and therefore “didn’t count.” They then demanded £120 and threatened to involve debt collectors.

I wrote to them again, spelling out clearly that this was a duplication on their part - not mine. Their response? They doubled down and told me the debt had already been passed to a collector.

At this point, I escalated the case to the British Parking Association (BPA), who thankfully agreed to investigate. A full month later, TPS finally wrote back to say they were “dropping all further action” as a so-called “gesture of goodwill.” A gesture? No. This was nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to save face after their own incompetence was exposed.

TPS’s conduct throughout was disgraceful - disorganised, heavy-handed, and completely lacking in accountability. They attempted to bully me into paying a second fine for a single mistake that I had already rectified. The stress, time, and energy wasted dealing with this nonsense was entirely their doing.

How many others have been tricked, intimidated, or worn down by this company’s tactics? How many just pay up out of fear or frustration? TPS thrives on administrative errors and technicalities - then hides behind robotic policies to avoid owning up to their mistakes.

Avoid this company at all costs. Their business model is based on coercion, not customer service - and the sooner regulators step in, the better.

SHAME ON YOU

I appealed on behalf of my husband who was taking his 88 year old mother, who is no longer able to walk any distance awaiting a knee replacement so needs a wheelchair, for her appointment at Weston General Hospital when the parking charge was issued. When he arrived at the hospital there were no marked parking spaces available so he had no choice but to park in an unmarked bay and had to leave his vehicle in order to push his mother in her wheelchair to get her to her appointment on time.

The appeal was unsuccessful and he paid £6 to park.

I paid for parking – and they still tried to fine me. Avoid at all costs.

I had a genuinely frustrating experience with Total Parking Solutions after visiting Wicksteed Park in February 2025. I paid for parking and even have the bank statement to prove it. Despite providing this evidence, they’ve insisted on issuing a fine – first £30, now threatening £80 – claiming I didn't pay.

Their so-called "appeals process" is a joke. They ignored the evidence, assumed user error without proof, and are now aggressively demanding payment for something I clearly already paid for. Judging by other reviews, this seems to be a pattern of behaviour.

It’s such a shame, because this experience has completely put me off ever returning to Wicksteed Park. I would expect better from a family attraction than to work with a parking company known for targeting genuine paying customers with automated fines.

Shame on the companies and institutions that choose to associate with and use the services of such a company.

Let me start by stating clearly: I have a valid parking permit, and I pay for it monthly - yet I was still issued a £75 fine. A company focused solely on exploiting poor users and extracting as much money as possible from customers. I’m surprised that institutions like the University of Reading use the services of such a ruthlessly operating company. Even though the university has a portal where users' vehicles are registered – I have two cars registered there and use them alternately depending on the situation – I still received a fine for not displaying the red permit card. The card must have slid off the dashboard while driving. I don’t keep it permanently attached because I switch cars, and it’s simply not feasible. Besides, many users’ cards are faded from the sun and unreadable anyway. After submitting an appeal, I waited a month – A MONTH – for a response, which basically said, “Well, you should have had the card.” So why did I even bother registering my vehicles on the portal?
