I have always found the team at town and city highly professional and trustworthy. Having dealt with a few companies over the years I would chose town and city every time.

Incompetent. Having lived in a property managed by Town and City for over 3 years, I really don't see how this company is still afloat. We have had multiple issues that are half heartedly dealt with months if not years after they are brought up.
At the moment I've been ignored by multiple people including directors over a parking issue.
Feels like they are solely a bank account where funds dissappear, as a freeholder you should avoid!

I’m one of the residents on the estate, I reported spilt paint in my car park numbers aren’t visible / bays. Area is always very untidy with litter. The light for the car park has been out of use for a number of weeks now after I’ve reported it and nothing has been rectified. I’m paying service charges and seeing nothing improving in my area, very disappointing.

Where to begin, This has got to be one of the worst property management companies around, one director was good her name was Joanne, but as for the others we personally had no dealings with them, emailing their top man received no response what so ever.

Their property managers were dire to say the least, one just was always out of the office or on inspections etc and didn’t reply to emails, we paid a large sum of money yearly for a service which was not provided, flats with leaking roofs and gutters, flats with damp problems and damp creeping up the walls, and as properties go were relatively new maybe 30 years old at most, the services we received for our fees, gardeners once a fortnight, cleaners to vacuum hall and stairs 1 to 2 weekly, and window cleaners about every 3 weeks, any repairs took forever if they were ever done at all.
We never knew what the money went on to warrant the prices they charged and they wanted to increase it even more.
To put it in a nutshell they were abysmal a good company builds good relations with their customers and those very customers spread the word, sadly this company did not, quite the opposite if maintenance was kept up with then clearly the flats would have been much easier to maintain and problems wouldn’t have arisen as they did after years of neglect, and these problems didn’t pop up overnight, so sorry I can’t really say anything good about them, I note after every negative review given they suggest the author emails them,we tried that before and they never bothered why should anyone believe that they would do so now….

My name is Michael and, together with my wife Heather, live at Bermerside House, Skircoat Green. A property managed by Town and City.

Bermerside House recently suffered a major, very major, drainage and waste disposal problem affecting, I believe, several of the apartments on the ground floor. However, we lived in very difficult circumstances for three days. So much so, that we were on the verge of moving out whilst waiting for the issue to be resolved. Fortunately, by the skin of our teeth, we didn't have to resort to this.

The purpose of this review is to say how magnificent was our contact at Town and City in dealing with and sorting out the problem. At all times professional.....calm and collected .....on call.......regularly in touch with us {even out of normal working hours)......addressing each and every problem that raised its head (and there were many!!!!).......we really could not have asked for more. Difficult though the circumstances were, it was so comforting to know that she was slowly but surely dealing with everything and that, eventually, life would return to normal. This, of course, was the case.
A job well done. Thank you.

Town and City have managed our flats now for 7 years. Sue and the team have been great and always got the jobs done.

Absolutely useless. Would give zero stars if i could. The out of hours team are incompetent and pretty much being paid to say 'we cant help with your issue. The main office will be open at 9am to help you'

Joanne and her team at Town and City were of considerable help in obtaining various items of information and helping deal with some of the offbeat and peculiar questions raised in connection with property transactions. Joanne in particular was always willing to help, responded very quickly and her knowledge of the property and business meant she knew exactly what was required. She was very patient and understanding. Having interacted with several different managing agents for other properties over the last two years, Joanne was by far the best, the most helpful and the most pleasant to work with. It has been a pleasure liaising with her.

I always receive good service and find staff approachable.

Shocking customer service. No replies to emails. Not sending information when asked. Vague responses on the phone asking to send another email.

This company managed a property I owned and I was delighted when I sold and was rid of them.
On their website they state they have 4 core values the first of which is honesty. They say "No long term relationship can be built on lies or broken promises". Interesting because in my view they are built on lies and broken promises from the person handling my property to the Director I dealt with in Darlington. No honesty and certainly no service.
I also saw on one site review a positive review from a man called Wutt. He just happened to be the person working for them handling my property. A great example of them being honest or could it be lies.

Honestly, I don't know where to begin this review. Town and City have been disastrous - from mishandling and losing information regarding building maintenance money to not responding to emails about service charges and even the most basic form of help. I had to take out a mortgage and Right to Manage to get rid of them, and even then there were problems - I'm still trying to get a final service charge account statement.

worse managing agent I have come across,they are happy to charge you for stuff yet nothing gets done, roof been leaking for over 18 months,damage to internal walls cased by the leaking roof also problems with communal lights took over 3 months to fix!!

So glad i stuck with town and city and gave them an extra year. the manager left and a new one has replaced him. Great attitude and she has lots planned for this year. finally feel cared about

I have contacted the company in August 2021 to point out that a leak in an external pipe was causing damage to the internal walls. They have decided not to resolve the issue, despite several reminders from myself and other tenants. Now (Jan 2021) the internal wall is full of mold and dampness.

This is just the worst example of a company that systematically ignores our requests, but then sends us infuriating happy new years messages.

Do not use as the management company of your building.

I find it curious and interesting that all the good 5 star reviews on Trustpilot are quite brief, and they have been written on the same day.

I live in a small apartment block managed by T&C, the intercom has broken for the second time in two months, this means you cannot let people in the building remotely, in my case I have had to go down the stairs with an injured knee to let deliveries in, what if I needed a doctor? T&C just see this as minor inconvenience. They also will not send someone out to fix a problem unless more than one person complains, as in the case of my building everyone is affected, sadly only 2 other people have complained, on the emergency no over xmas. I am seen as a "Karen" as I am the one ringing up all the time, even though the people on the other end of the phone have been polite 95% of the time

As with other reviewers, they do not seem to wish to address any problems whatsoever and lack integrity. They do not understand simple issues and seem to always want to fix something other than the problem at hand. Communications are rude and quite shocking. Avoid.

I just wanted to leave a review as I always feel that people are quick to criticise but never as quick to give praise. I have had a leak into my flat from the roof and Town and city have been really good on getting this sorted for me, they have kept me up to date throughout and the decorators have left today and everything is like new again. Thank you to the team for your help.

Never had a problem with this company from head office down to the property managers. Have always paid us on time & have great communication whenever issues have been flagged up

Since arriving at my current property I have found the level of service and attention to detail provided by Town & City to be of high standard. Their approach to dealing with any issue I have raised has always been professional, which has resulted in timely resolutions. It makes a difference dealing with managing agents that care about their tenants.
