Friendly service at Triyoga Chelsea!
I had a lovely experience with one of the staff members at Chelsea Triyoga, Michele, who was friendly and accommodating. 5-stars to pleasent customer service!
Again an online class gets cancelled……
Again an online class gets cancelled… it’s happened to me about 6 times over the last month, 3 times while waiting on the mat for the link sent to go live. If you can get hold of anyone they are generally apologetic but it’s frustrating.
(I realise it must be tough for the front line staff to have to deal with this too.)
Online only members have no actual contact to discuss this with, despite repeatedly asking through individual studios by email or phone when the problem arises. The terms and conditions have disappeared from the original website.
You can’t get really get credit back either as it’s an unlimited membership, so it’s moot. It was a brilliant, brilliant set up originally and I’m lucky to have been practising with some great teachers. But the actual online offer has reduced horribly in the last year or so; initially in early 2024 then reduced further this summer. There has been no communication of any of these changes or any reasons why, they just aren’t available as an online class any longer. Or if they are, some get cancelled, often at the time the class is due to start.
I’ve suggested we get a days extension on membership each time this happens. That’s not much to ask but nobody ever replies.
Meh. We’re yogis and it is as it is, but it’s disappointing, and *really* sad because it really was a great set up.
Postscript… it’s not all the offer, there are still good teachers and classes online. But way fewer.
Just awful
Re Camden branch - This place used to be my haven. I have so many wonderful memories here. The teachers were generally fantastic, a lovely community, and decent people on reception or managing the teams. Since the merger, as others have said, it's unrecognisable and frankly horrendous. Lack of cleaning, especially in the unhygienic hot studio, half the front desk staff are rude and disinterested staff while the others are lovely and fully aware of how bad it is and try apologetically to do what they can to compensate for management. Which leads me to management - AWFUL.
Zero empathy, hostile and passive aggressive, customers are treated like they're an inconvenience, short term money fix at the expense of long term retention and no understanding of what it means to be a place of wellbeing. They treated the teachers no better from what I understand. They finally lost my rolling annual membership income, which I've had for over a decade, as a result of taking £36 out my account without authorisation or any communication and although they acknowledged that is exactly what happened they refused to put it right. Make that make sense?
I would never normally wish to see anyone or any business fail but I make an exception here. The people running this (into the ground) should really question both their competence and morals. Such a shame.
I’m an experienced yoga practitioner…
I’m an experienced yoga practitioner and I practice yoga in many different part of the world. Triyoga may not be in India or Bali, but it certainly offers some world class yoga. Sarah Drai’s yin yoga and Siri Sadhana Kaur’s kundalini classes are my favourite fixtures in the weekly schedule. However, a visit to Triyoga isn’t complete without meeting Antonia who has such a beautiful energy and is always happy to go out of her way to help.
Left me standing like a Plum
Decent enough class, nice location, front of house looked like they didn't want to be there ,want me to be there, or both.
Great class at Chelsea studio
Great class at Chelsea studio. Fab teachers.
Admin is poor since takeover
Just appulaing
Just appulaing.
Got the online intro offer and the system went down within a day, not able to book or see classes. Calling all the time is not ok. Ben at shorditch was great and gave me another month, they call it free but how can it be when what you paid for you did not get... half the classes you book into the teacher are either late, no sound or they cant be bother to even read online megages to correct errors or instruct. They say class credit for those sessions which does not apply to online package so you just lose out.
The so called free month, a few days in an no online classes visible, had to call Ben again to book as he read through a list. Awful way to have to book a class, then again today, teacher did not bother siging in the onine session and when I called she signed in and the sound dii not work again, so you sit like a plumb waiting and eventually left. Couldnt even book another vinyass class as was no more on so have to call in again 3 times in the same day for an Ashtanga which I dont even do but otherwise, nothing.
Literally the worst, most appluling online yoga I have every engaged with. Poor, sound, poor services, poor teachers, it is like they offer the trainees to those online, teachers are bad except for maybe two.
If you are ging for the online package, DONT DO IT. You will be locked in for 12 months to the worst yoga in the world and that is saying something.
A free month does not help when it is just more of the same over and over/
Triyoga, I would like to say it's been fun but I am not going to lie
Shocking
Shocking! |There is a total lack of comminication since the takeover. The cameras dont work for a lot of the classes and also the teachers suddenly leave and the reception do not know what is going on. The latest is that there has been a breach or issue with the cloud service that does the booking so you can't book online or live stream. Did they send an email? Don't be silly! Happy to take the money though!
I have been member of Triyoga since…
I have been member of Triyoga since past 7 years and a place which was like a sanctuary and home for me has now become a pathetic studio full of rude service, class cancellations all the time and without any notifications, teachers not logging in online for a live streaming class, unhelpful new teachers, to extremely unhelpful, careless, rude, offensive and attacking staff. I used to love Triyoga especially for the teachers but most teachers I liked left since the take over in 2022. They don’t have any feedback system anymore, no place to complaint other than sending email to the same studio that you had problems with and the staff is so rude it is ridiculous to pay all this money and get a cheap gym brand and pathetic service and classes. Today, Triyoga Chelsea cancelled a class, not informing anyone and I am waiting there online 10 minutes into the class wondering why teacher has not logged in. Upon calling the staff Amelie told me the class shouldn’t have been online as they moved it into small studio and no apology. Upon me asking for managers full name, she hung up on me rather than taking my complaint. Amelie’s attitude was rude, offensive, unhelpful and uncaring. It is unacceptable. Day before yesterday Triyoga Ealing class - the teacher didn’t login to the class on live stream until I had to call the studio and they were baffled as why I am calling. It seemed a joke the way they run their studios. Then a sound started coming on live stream and we all the people online complained and teacher didn’t pay attention to it. Until I had to call Triyoga myself. And he said he went into the studio and didn’t read our comments or try to resolve the issue or check with us if the sound is gone. And then after a while he said he can’t do anything about it. I had to come out of the class as the sound was so disturbing and it was meant to be a gong bath class. I am just appalled and disgusted with this level of service. I never had such problems until the 2022 take over. And I now have to look for better studios like Mission E1 which I have heard, is build from all amazing ex teachers at Triyoga.
Since Triyoga merged with those other…
Since Triyoga merged with those other studios to become MindBody, nothing works anymore. It's impossible to access their website, to sign up for classes or access your membership in any way. Most disorganised corporate merger I have ever seen.
The fall of a great space
Oh it's so sad to see how this place has changed. It used to be one of my happy places for years and recently got an annual membership without visiting the studios - i thought, what would have changed? But OMG! All the good teachers have left, the space (Camden) is not what it used to be, not even close. And what frustrates me the most is that I pay £112 per month for unlimited courses but if I cancel a class, I am charged AGAIN £10!!!! Proper cash cows to save a deteriorating space
Triyoga is dead
I’ve been a loyal Triyoga member for over 8 years, attending classes 3–5 times a week with an unlimited membership. I’ve spent over £15,000 on classes and teacher trainings, and the studio used to feel like a second home.
Sadly, things have significantly declined since COVID. The AC didn’t work for the entire summer, mats are often dirty, hot yoga mats are no longer dry cleaned, there have been repeated issues with males entering female changing rooms, a high turnover of reception staff, and many of the best teachers have left. Still, I remained patient, hoping things would improve.
The final straw came last week. After a short vacation, I returned to find Studio 2 had been turned into a Reformer Pilates space—without any prior notice or communication. While I actually enjoy Reformer (I practice it elsewhere twice a week), I was shocked that such a major change was made without even a newsletter informing members.
Now, yoga classes are squeezed into Studio 3, right between the noisy Reformer studio (with loud music, microphones, and heavy props) and another yoga class. There is zero sound insulation, and it’s incredibly difficult to concentrate, even for an experienced practitioner like myself.
When I politely raised my concerns at reception, I was met with complete disregard. The staff member replied, “So wacchu want?” while chewing gum and applying lotion. It was disrespectful and dismissive.
At that moment, I realized that Triyoga is no longer the studio I once loved. It breaks my heart to say it, but the spirit of the place feels gone.
P.S. I tried the Reformer classes here—unfortunately, they’re below average. Barre is good, though.
Triyoga Chelsea: not an oasis of calm anymore.
I’m still in shock about yesterday and what’s happened to Triyoga Chelsea. Turned up yesterday for my regular class of “restorative” “yoga” and had to leave the place. It ruined my whole day, and I wasted rehab time for my Traumatic Brain Injury (yoga does wonders for the brain). I will never get this precious time back. This makes me angry. Tri”yoga” no longer is a place for calm and contemplation in Chelsea. I couldn’t quite believe it. I was gobsmacked. What a sea-change, business and ethos transformation. This is not yoga, and definitely not very Chelsea. It’s as if yoga clients like me who used to enjoy yoga classes in their spacious studios, in a “vast” landscape of calmness, had been taken over by studios filled with machines and music (what?!) forcing yoga clients to move into a shrunken, completely different landscape (deforestation of the Amazon comes to mind), cramming yoga clients into a ridiculously small, loud, crowded space. A space that no longer feels like yoga in Chelsea. I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, I thought I’d walked into a gym for hipsters in Shoreditch! One thing is certain, Triyoga Chelsea no longer is a healthy place or space for yoga, nor serves yoga’s ethos or philosophy. Yoga? “Restorative” yoga? There is nothing “restorative” - who could argue with me? - when a “restorative” or any type of yoga class takes place in a crammed, crowded, noisy, stuffy environment like that. In fact, quite the opposite, it’s an insult to one’s well-being, which is a choice of words I never thought I’d use to describe a “yoga” environment, “any” yoga environment. By the time I got home, I was deflated, felt cheated, let down by Triyoga. I was in fact, fuming. I still am. There’s nothing “yoga” about that! Namaste. 🙏🏻
I have been visiting Triyoga chelsea…
I have been visiting Triyoga chelsea since it opened and with the change in ownership it has gone beyond down. The high turnover in staff and lack of community feel followed up by the personal calls to ask if I want to sign up for packages coupled with their ability to loose some of the best teachers in London - I will avoid from now on. Such a shame. They ruined a wonderful brand and community.
Im not writing to complain about the…
Im not writing to complain about the customer service at Triyoga, as many others have done here. Although i too have experienced off hand and abrupt behaviour, inppropriate anywhere but particularly unfitting for a yoga studio. My main gripe is to do with the prices which are exorbitant and only acceptable, perhaps, to a certain demographic.
Because i like the environments in the Ealing and Camden studios, i was prepared to pay the £20 drop in charge for a single class as an occasional treat. I
have hever purchased a 'discounted' bundle of classes primarily because you are required to use them within a limited, short, time frame. This is just not realistic if leading a very busy working life. Why cant Triyoga provide greater flexibility??
However, in the last 2 weeks, I note, the cost of a single class has increased to £25!!! I mean, how can that possibly be
justified?? This is the cost of a monthly membership at certain London gyms....Utterly ridiculous, but hey, the market will vote with its feet....Goodbye Triyoga
Culture painfully limping
Having been a visitor over the almost 25 years Triyoga has been around, above all, the culture really isn’t anymore what it used to be, in spite of some staff members’ good effort, and I’d like to call out Haddi and Nikesh in Camden. In addition to a number of operational and maintenance issues, I particularly noticed over a few visits some staff acting quite entitled or outright rude, having mobile phone conversations on loudspeaker, berating visitors, or underutilised therapists occupying the most comfy seating area for an entire afternoon, to nurse (and spread) their cold whilst talking loudly across the community space, before leaving, not even clearing their dishes away. Whatever happened to the 8 limbs of yoga, some have evidently gone a bit limp!
Avoid TriYoga at all costs
Avoid TriYoga at all costs. I tried to cancel my membership due to a parental DEATH. Even a death wouldn’t stop these blood hounds from cutting me a break and cancelling my membership. I have to give 30 days notice, I gave 28 and therefore they wouldn’t cancel it and charged me. I would fully understand if it was a whimsical reason and I was maybe 4 days away from being charged but this really showed their true colours.
Are they a yoga studio or a bailiff company? Truly awful people. Having returned to London I have joined 3Tribes and Down to Earth. Beautiful people and worth every penny.
Sad as the teachers at Triyoga are wonderful but haven’t spoken to a few other yoga teachers I’ve been told Triyoga take the biggest staff fee cut! So sad. Business ethics and morals are so important for growth.
I am so disappointed by the customer…
I am so disappointed by the customer service at this studio - really not good at all. The classes aren't that good and its so expensive - not worth the hassle and the money. Read their T&Cs if you intend to buy class passes, there are there to catch you out and take your money.
AVOID AVOID !!The worst yoga centre…
AVOID AVOID !!The worst yoga centre I’ve ever been to ,and I’ve done yoga for 20 years . The classes are empty and still they put fans on in the ceiling in a freezing cold room. I did a week trial for 49£ which is not really cheap , after 3 classes I got so sick as once you sweat a bit your clothes and skin becomes freezing . I suggested I could postpone the rest off the trial until I was not sick but they said no and just wanted more money . The staff and the vibe is the most unfriendly I’ve ever encountered.this is a good example of what the essence of yoga is NOT and please do not let yourself be fooled by the impressive selection of classes this place has apparently had new owners recently and is truly awful
