Dylan if a customer briefly asks to borrow a biro to record the ending dates of a new contract you are selling to them in their diary, you really shouldn't reply by saying 'as long as you don't take it, we don't have many'. That's very bad etiquette and judgemental. I've never had a shop assistant speak to me like that before, especially considering I am a paying customer. Perhaps you need to have extra training here. Some of us are a lot more educated than you perceive.
