Today we are Wheelbase.co.uk, Wheelbase Lake District, Wheelbase Darlington and Wheelbase Yorkshire. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and friendly store for everyone who loves cycling, whether that be road cycling, mountain biking, touring, commuting, family riding or e-Bikes.
We are a team united by a passion for bikes and we have a wide range of cycling experience amongst our sales staff, mechanics and mail order team.
Our passion for cycling is invested back into the sport through the sponsorship and support of our British Elite road race team Wheelbase CabTech Castelli.
Now in its 12th year, we hold our annual MTB demo weekend in April, attracting up to 250 riders to our Lake District store, often in spite of the wet Cumbrian weather. We have a great community of cyclists here in the Lake District and there are plenty of events going on throughout the year, including the 3 Valley Challenge in June, our Tour de Staveley in July and the Wheelbase Spring Classic in March. We offer backing to local organisations where possible and are great supporters of Kendal Cycle Club and Fix the Fells.

How it should be done.
Very pleased with Wheelbase.co.uk. Fast dispatch and bike exceptionally well prepared and secured. It was first time for me using this store and I'm very nicely surprised. Bike came super secured in the box, no chance for any transit damage. All setup nicely, no need for me to do make any adjustments or tightening bolts, which happened with other major players in the industry. Highly recommended.

I took my bike into Wheelbase Ilkley....
I took my bike into Wheelbase Ilkley, to have the gears looked at as they were not working properly. My issue was resolved really quickly, plus Liam did further tweaks, checks and alignment on my bike proactively which was much appreciated. Thank you!

Excellent service,explain you everything, bring wheels close your car and you can see how looks,some discounts apply at the end.On fitting was damage rear rim but they ordered new one still waiting for arrival and fitting.

DT Swiss Recall
I have had a recall from DT Swiss and they told me to contact my LBS and they would arrange for the wheels to be sent to Madison for quality checks. I have been a loyal customer of Wheelbase for many many years and always recommended them to the guys in my cycling club. On this occasion, Wheelbase told me that they cant help me and to ring around other LBS's to see if they can help !!!!!! - I contacted The Edge at Lancaster and they were so helpful and they are dealing with my Recall. Its a sad day today but my Long Term Relationship with Wheelbase is finished :-(

We spoke on the phone about this recall yesterday. I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed by the time scale we were able to offer you for this recall.
Unfortunately, as we explained on the phone we are currently assisting a very large number of customers affected by recalls to get them back on their bike as soon as possible. We are working on a first come first served basis, prioritizing customers who purchased an affected item from ourselves.
Whilst under normal circumstances we do everything we can to assist all riders; with our current workload through peak season we couldn’t action your request for assistance on an item purchased from another dealer for several weeks. This is why I suggested you may want to try calling around to see if anyone else may have a shorter lead time.
I hope you are able to get back on the bike soon.

Excellent
Excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff and quick response times. I bought a new Gravel bike and it was delivered when promised. There was a slight problem with some damage during transit but the guys at Wheelbase were straight on it and helped to get the issue resolved.
Over-all, very happy and would recommend.
