West Midland Safari Park Avis 

We took a very excited 12year old niece to see the animals but there wasn't much too see! So over priced and it's now a con! They are charging so much for barely anything. I am angry I payed and feel like I was scammed. Over priced food and the rest is not even worth mentioning. Such a sad looking place....we have wasted our time in there and got a disappointed girl back home. They should'be hold responsible

We went for a first-time visit and I’m glad I didn’t read the reviews on here before booking. With schools back after summer it was very quiet and there was no queuing at the safari, we drove round and saw so many animals up close! Seeing lions, rhinos, giraffes etc up close and personal was jaw-dropping. We then went for lunch where there were halal options, the chicken wrap was lovely as were the pizza and chips. We then walked round the rest of the zoo before heading to the rides. We wished we had bought the wristbands as ended up paying too much for rides but that was our own fault. Overall a great safari experience which is priced same as other similar places, with the summer savings offer it was cheaper than normal. I really don’t understand what people are complaining about, the animals are not there to dance to your tune and the zoo needs to pay for the upkeep of these expensive wild animals. Overall, we had a lovely day out and if we didn’t live over 2 hours away we would visit more frequently.

We have visited the safari park many times over the last 20 years and I've got to say it has really gone down hill. As the other reviews have stated, the food prices are obscene and the quality is awful.
And the animals? What animals? The park seems to be set up now solely for those staying in the lodges. In the walk through area (which I love the idea of), the viewing windows are limited and we couldn't see any animals in these areas.
Now, the drive through. What was the point? The last slot available to book for the drive through was 4-4.30. That's the slot we had and we entered at 4.06pm. Most of the remaining animals (which to be fair, most have been moved to new, smaller enclosures by the lodges) had all been put away in their houses. So why are they allowing you to book such a late slot? So we were drove around dry fields of dead grass. What's the point? Even all the deer etc were nowhere to be seen, exceptone small group jn one field.
If for welfare reasons the animals need to be away by 4.30, shouldn't the last drive through time slot be 2.30? Such a shame, this used to be such a lovely day out.

Really disappointed with my experience today. There should be a limit on how many people are let in because waiting for hours at gates between animal enclosures spoils the day for everyone. It is supposed to take 1.5 hours to drive round the safari but it took us an hour longer owing to awful traffic. There were lots of animals that we didn't see either. When we finally got out of the safari hot and tired (not WMSP's fault but air conditioning in my car doesn't work so really uncomfortable sitting there for ages and not being able to open the windows, only to find that none of the wild animals were even visible) we wanted to sit down and get something to eat. We couldn't find an indoor cafe. There was a busy mobile snack bar with almost no seating so we just ordered a drink. In fairness I think they do have an indoor cafe in another area of the park but we were just drained so came home early. When we came out of the car park there wasn't even an exit sign so we ended up turning back into the park then turning round. It would be so easy to put up a sign to help drivers. To sum up, £70 for this experience is very over priced and I would not go again.

Underwhelming and very over priced . Not worth a day out it was very disappointing. Everything was very expensive after paying over 100.00 for 2 adults 2 children and the paying over 30.00 for wrist bands. The food was over priced and poor quality. Drinks expensive too. Not recommended at all very disappointed.

Booking service awful. Tried to clarify on the phone - on the phone for 40 mins.

I took my grandson aged 11 to the park on Sunday, the 23rd of August. Before I went, I read the reviews on Trustpilot and couldn’t believe the average score was only 1.8.
We arrived at 12 after a two hour journey and found the parking very easy. We decided to do the walk first and having bought the tickets online, we were scanned in by staff very quickly. We enjoyed seeing all the animals and visiting the gift shop.
After a quick picnic in my car, we joined the short queue for the Safari drive. The staff were very helpful and we were soon on our way.
The drive around took about two hours and we saw a huge amount of animals.
There were some long delays as we waited to go through a number of gates designed to keep the animals in, however we really enjoyed seeing the animals.
All in all, we had a great day. 

Visited today with my family and all I can say is how sad that it looks more like a deer park and a very dilapidated. It appears to me it’s all about the lodges. I used to visit this place as a child and every birthday this was my choice of venue. Not now it’s just not worth the money, unless you’re willing to stay in the lodges. The cheetah lodge starts at £200 for one night!!!!!!! How times have changed

Such a disappointing safari experience. Safari in name only as there were so few animals . Spent most of the time in a traffic jam seeing nothing but cars with the odd occasion an
animal. Some in the distance you wonder if they were real or statutes. Reptiles section had more missing windows. Waited so long for rides that only managed a couple . Had to work hard to look like it’s fun for the sake of the kids.

Worst day ever. We travelled 3 hours to get there which was good.
It took 2 hours 20 minutes to go around the drive part, so many idiots driving and stopping in the right lane which clearly says not to do. Rangers ignoring them. Rangers should park in right lane to stop the idiots.
I don't know why cars were stopping so long as there were no animals to see. We saw deers, Rhino, Giraffe and sad lions. Not worth the time let alone the cost.
The walk through was as bad, we paid £22 for 3 baguettes. The Sea lions were nowhere to be seen, most lanes to things were closed so, we had to walk up steep hills just to see.. Well, nothing. No benches at the top to sit down. I'm OK with walking but it almost killed me.
Total waste of time money and sanity.
The highlight of our day was The Larch Wood Farm pub for a rest, food and charge the car, a couple of miles away.

Rubbish.. Deserted "Safari", horrendous queues, snotty attitude by staff, extortionate food and drinks.

Poor experience and customer service. Don’t buy a gift voucher. We were given one for £75 which didn’t work on the website as it was supposed to, I couldn’t get through on the phone so we decided to go anyway and ask the staff at reception, who took ages to find a solution. Even though they could see we had a valid voucher and the website wasn’t working properly, they wouldn’t give us tickets since the voucher had to be used online on the website, we had to wait over half an hour while they figured out what was wrong with the website. Ridiculous. And once that was finally sorted, the day certainly wasn’t worth the money anyway.

Went yesterday 13/08/26 to take our Grandaughter.Firstly,the drive through safari was terrible......the system they have letting people through security gates is totally inefficient meaning you are stuck in qeues for most of the time.Also,the rule of not blocking the right hand lane is totally ignored by many causing further issues but nothing is done by staff monitoring the drive through.All the gates are rusty and enclosures look tired.
Entering the main walkthrough area you are greeted with very high food prices......our baguettes were also stale and hard......and tired looking enclosures and exhibits.This place has really gone backwards to what it was years ago,instead of investing in luxury lodges,invest in updated facilities for the animals and those that pay good money for a day out.I wouldn't recommend the park to anybody anymore,it has gone downhill compared to what it used to be years ago unfortunately.Such a shame.

Paid an arm and a leg to book a lodge with a hot tub. This was an additional cost on top of the already extortionate cost of the lodges. A couple of months before my visit i went to have a look at what i'd booked online however there were no hot tub rooms showing. I contacted them via their booking form, as its the only way to get in touch, to ask whether there were still hot tubs and after waiting several days for a reply discovered that in fact none of the rooms now have hot tubs. So basically the thing i paid extra for had been removed and no one bothered to tell me. After i pointed this out i was offered a £100 refund, which is less than the additional amount i paid for a hot tub room. Absolutely disgusting and outrageous. I am now trying to cancel but due to it being less than 10 weeks before we were meant to go i fully expect that they will try to charge me the 50% cancellation fee. I will never come here again, especially after reading other reviews which say the animals have all been moved for the benefit of the lodges.

Had a lovely day at the park, skipped the fair and opted for a walk around and a tour in a truck later in the day. We saw pretty much everything except Cheetahs, cats are always tricky as they do cat stuff and sleep but we did see a pride of lions asleep on top of a huge rock which was lovely. The tour guide/driver was excellent and made sure we saw Giraffes up close ( we had seen them on the walk round too) by doing a detour before they were bedded down. The Painted dogs were up and lively and beautiful. I have seen many people complaining about seeing nothing, that's the luck of the draw, they aren't circus animals and are doing what animals do. We took our own food anticipating ( after seeing reviews) nothing we would want. We paid cinema price, for a cold drink, but with an eco cup rather than a plastic throw away. Booked online so free return visit in the next 6 months, and we will be going again.

How they have the audacity to call this a safari park I don't know. Another money grabbing company there are no animals left in the drive thru they've all been moved to their high end lodges and walk around safari completely inaccessible in a wheelchair I turned up with relative documentation to confirm my free carers place only to be told I needed a nimbus pass which I don't have neither do I have a leg so because I haven't got card does that make me any less disabled the whole thing is a scam from beginning to end. I should be called a zoo and a crap one at that we paid nearly £100 and saw 5 animals. They need to sort it out if it was half the price e it would still be to much.

Total waste of money. I have given it a one star. I wish I could give it lower. I used to come here as a kid, and I brought my children here in the past was always a good Day Out.
Now, you are not allowed to feed the animals and even if you could, there are no animals to feed. No Tigers, no leopards. No longhorn cows. No wild African dogs, no wolves. No long horn sheep, a few dear scattered around one zebra. You do see rhino, but the elephants and giraffe are kept over by the holiday lets. The whole place is really run down and way way way overpriced you spend over 2 hours sat in the car, basically looking at open fields with nothing in them. After leaving the safari.
We walked through to the amusements and smaller attractions. The dinosaur statues are really run down once again. Souvenirs, so overpriced, it's crazy. A small soft toy no bigger than your hand £22 rides and food once again crazy prices. Then on to more no show animals, no Red Pandas ,No leamers. No Tigers. Tropical fish area closed. Used to have crocodiles in the reptile enclosure. Now gone used to have a lots of goats to feed and pet. 2 remaining. Not allowed to feed once again.
So in summary, I would never return to the safari park again. It's a total waste of money. I would think a family of 5 would pay somewhere in the region of £300 for an awful Day Out. I would think that this place will go bankrupt and close within the next 5 years. Unless they do something to address the problems I have stated. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere but here.

Primitive booking system, couldn’t book different types of tickets on the same order. Refund policy is non existent.

Phone lines open at 10am, couldn’t get hold of them. Ticket was submitted online and ignored.

Food at the dino dino was a fortune, took 50m to come for 3 meals and the fish used is not cod. Despite our starvation, the food was half inedible and left. Soft drinks are £5 for a pint. The healthy option is plain pasta, and some bolognaise out of a tin.

The park is half empty, and there is no indication if the cages are empty. You spend a great deal of time looking for things that aren’t there.

The safari was hell.. slow, empty and stuck in traffic like a motorway. God forbid you get hungry or need the toilet for that hour. The kids were bored to tears.

Do yourself a favour and go anywhere but here. You won’t see anything unique or special without a mortgage.

This park group booking does not have any option to book online and email communication is very worst ever and don't receive phone call ever. It looks no one managing and monitoring the park ticket purchasing system and worst authority. 100% disappointment.

Don’t bother with the safari, not many animals to see and you will spend most of your time sat in your car wishing you were somewhere else, with kids saying they are bored or crying and asking where are the animals. If you’re lucky, you may get the opportunity to escape down the ‘moving’ lane but I expect that’ll be backlogged with cars too. Don’t bother asking for a refund because they state on tickets you could be around 2 hours in safari, that I expect is because of the volume of cars not because you’re thrilled by seeing so much wildlife. We were so long that we ended up eating our food we had planned for a picnic. If I wanted to sit in a queue of cars I’d get myself up to the M25 on a busy day. I have given two stars because the kids managed to get on a couple of rides. What would have been useful would be if the owners of the park would put their fat greedy hands in their deep pockets not only to provide some sort of canopy shading where you queue for rides due to the extreme weather that’s going on but also, employ more than one member of staff per ride so that everyone’s not hanging about waiting for staff to check everything and getting everyone on and off rides and kids getting a fairly decent ride time. They also need to invest in the safari, you should be ashamed of yourselves WMSP owners. Much better places to visit than this run down park.
