Stuck underground
(I’d like to preface my review by saying apart from this experience the mini golf was somewhat enjoyable.)
My partner and I came here to do the underground golf after about 40 minutes of playing the most understaffed/ unorganised game of mini golf we (aprox.30 other people) waited for the mine tram to come and take us back up to the surface. After about an hour of waiting, no communication was made by the one member of staff that was overseeing about 60 people(this includes the people still on the course). After this time she finally made her way through the cave tunnels to tell us the tram had broken and led us back to the golf course. We were told we would be taken up the emergency fire exit for her to only stop us and say there was not adequate signage to highlight the exit. After another 15 minutes we were met in the cave by more people who had been bought down to play. It is understandable that the member of staff in the cave was alone and was stressed just as much as us however what is not acceptable is bringing more players down before clearing the small waiting area in the cave. After being told we were not allowed to use the fire escape due to improper signage and fear that we would be lost we made our way through the well lit correctly sign posted staircase back up to the surface. What topped off the experience were the sarcastic comments made by one member of staff joking about the whole situation as we passed her and another group that was being brought down. The lack of communication and improper organisation unfortunately ruined this experience for us. Luckily we were met with one sorry before we were swiftly directed to the exit.
ZipWorld DO NOT CARE
If you live a significant distance away from the ZipWorld location or if you have a child that is of a nervous disposition then do not book with these mercenaries.
My story is long so I will try to keep it brief:
We live in Hampshire, we had booked to go on Velocity 2 in North Wales, we gave ourselves 6hrs travel time but ended up getting to the location 20mins late due to traffic. They were unable to put my son (13yrs old) and I on the same ride and with that refused to provided a refund instead they would only give a 6month open ticket which would mean another 12hr round trip. With that disappointment we returned home, another 6hr or so journey.
We rebooked, we drove 6hrs up again, this time my son got too nervous and didn’t want to do it. At this point I requested a refund but again it was refused. The customer service team stated they “could not” provide a refund; it’s not a case of could not, it’s a case of “would not!”.
I paid ZipWorld £192 for what is essentially time and space, not tangible goods so a refund is not impossible/unachievable.
My advice is avoid this place at all costs as their business model takes advantage of customers and is part of everything that is wrong with the world today. There is no human touch or understanding, there is no compassion or negotiation. Added to this, I am sure the T&C’s are illegal. They want your money and money only.
Definitely worth a visit
Visited Zip World Merthyr today, absolutely horrendous weather but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All the staff were helpful and pleasant but Alys went above and beyond to put me at ease as it was my first visit, diolch yn fawr. Hopefully my next visit the weather will be kind.

Titan zip with disabled daughter
Yesterday I did the Titan zip wire with my wheelchair bound daughter… the staff went out of their way to make the experience exhilarating and made her feel so valued. I would highly recommend and gratefully thank all the staff for their patience, time, smiles and warmth. We shall definitely visit again. Thank you!

Roller coaster slow if you go behind a "braker"
Did the zip safari it's was pretty brutal so be prepared lol, did the roller coaster, woud love if they didn't allow passengers to control the brakes, the car before us braked ALL the time so really wasn't a roller coaster more a slow journey down the forest, A very SLOW journey

The team were really helpful
The team were really helpful when my Nephew had to postone his Zip due to not feeling well. They arranged for somebody to take us both down to the base in the 4 Wheel Drive. They then credited the event so we could participate at a later date.

Titan!
Titan!! Wow amazing, the whole trip was fab from beginning to end. The tour guide Rob was a really nice guy who made us feel safe from the beginning, also knew a lot about the history of the mines. Then the guys at the top who clipped us on were very friendly and also made us feel safe. The weather on the other hand was awful but to be honest added to the magic of north wales and made me realise the awful conditions the quarry men worked in back in the day.
If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare, go on this, you will not be disappointed 😊

Got the Titan 2 as a birthday gift for my younger sister. Had a blast! Med the tour guide was awesome & the rest of the staff were spot on from start to finish. Worth the money and would definitely recommend to others.
My only recommendation would be to have a hot drinks station after the first zip line while waiting for the others to come down but that's it.
Restaurant staff were lovely too and nice food.
Thanks for a great day out!

Four oldies turned up on spec to try out velocity2. Great experience and thoroughly recommend it. Staff were extremely friendly, professional and diligent when it came to safety and looking after everyone to make sure all runs smoothly. Food in cafe was very reasonably priced as well. Thank you.

Zipworld was amazing and staff were very patient. My brother was very scared to do a zip wire and initially pulled out but changed his mind at the end, and staff were kind enough to retake.him with the next group, which they didn't have to, so it made your moneys worth. I would definetely come back to do more.

Stressful experience when using public transport
I had 3 hours to wait between trains in Blaenau Ffestiniog with visitors from Nepal so phoned about a deep mine tour. Lucy was very helpful. I said, as we were traveling by train, we had to be back in Blaenau Ffestiniog for the 2.57 train.
I told her the Ffestiniog train arrived at 11.55 and I could book a taxi at 12.00 to get me to the caverns for 12.10.
We booked on the 12.20 tour.
I asked if the train was late could we join the 12.40 tour. Yes, she said, as it wasn't busy.
The train was 10 mins late and we arrived at Zip World at 12.18.
I ran to check in but there were longish queues with people discussing the height of their child etc.
It wasn't clear which queue was for which activity and all was busy.
After managing to get our wrist bands, we raced to the deep mine tour entrance to find no one there. But by now it was after 12.25
No information, no meet and greet.
Eventually someone turned up to greet some golfers.
We were told to wait for our tour at 12.40.
We sat and waited.
At 12.40, a young lad appeared and said come back at 1.00pm.
I asked him to check how long that tour would take.
He replied 1 hour 10mins.
I asked him to double check that we would be back in time for our taxi which was booked for 2.20. Absolutely he said.
At 1pm our tour guide Rob arrived - there were 7 of us waiting.
Then 6 more turned up.
I was getting worried that we would miss our taxi.
At 2.15, we were still on the tour and I reminded Rob that I had a taxi to catch at 2.20.
He seemed completely unconcerned and, naturally, wanted to give the other people in the group an unrushed experience telling them to take as long as they liked in the cabin and keep asking questions.
There was no signal for my mobile so I couldn't phone the taxi company.
When we eventually got out, it was 2.35pm and the taxi had given up waiting and returned to town.
I appreciate that most of your customers come by car and do not have the stress of a very limited train service but I feel that Rob could have helped the situation by offering to get a message to the taxi company that the tour was running late so we would not have been stranded taxiless in Llechwedd.
We did eventually get back to Newtown at 9.09pm.
I appreciate the desire to attend to enjoyment of the majority (who came by car) but I felt that Zip World didn't care whether I missed my train or not despite at every opportunity I mentioned the tight schedule. If check in had been more efficient, if the 12.40 tour had run as expected or if Rob had offered to get a message to the taxi company, my review would have been more positive as the tour was interesting.

I couldn’t recommend Zip World enough. It was a super fun experience and had lovely staff to help and guide you around. We went on the tower flyer and it was amazing. I felt super safe which was great . Would definitely recommend .

UNSAFE and Terrible customer care at…
UNSAFE and terrible customer care at Velocity, PPE on 11 year old boy not checked prior to flight, helmet and goggles came off head at 113mph 500ft up, he was terrified and because I have reported the incident to HSE they consider the case closed and have said they will not refund the £118, they will of course once the HSE are involved. Horrible people, avoid!

No Refunds Watch Out
My family had a wonderful time but I wasn't too well on the day but at £60 they wouldn't refund my ticket. They do state this on their refund policy but in today's economy when it's all about the customer experience this is a very outdated model. Left a sore taste on what was an enjoyable experience for my family. Please have a look at how you treat customers.

Our guide Med (who said it was his firs day) was spot on, he made our experience all the better. His whit and knowledge was very impressive, would highly recommend.

Just to say iam not usually a keyboard warrior but iam raging .I brought two vouchers for velocity 2 at £112 each .I told friends we were going and seven asked to join us so we rang to book them in .I rang to book them in.as a group booking they would would be charged £73.72.a single booking would be £89.I rang zip world to ask how they could justify charging me £112 .because you can redeem it any time they said ,and I can ring any time and book anytime I said.it’s just the way it is they said.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.feeling mugged.

We went to zip World Fforest for our sons 13th birthday treat .He has non verbal autism and we didn't know how the event would go. We booked the forest coaster for him as he loves roller coaster. When we went to check in the staff were amazing and said happy birthday to him.There was a lady behind the counter called Tanya who walked up to the ride with kian and his dad and ensured he had no queuing and could go straight on the ride and would not have to get off and queue again for hisn2nd and 3rd ride .A big thank you to her as kian had an amazing time with no stress or anxiety it was very much appreciated would definently visit again x
