I am writing this updated review under pressure. I was contacted by Marcus Miller, the Accounts Supervisor of the Investigations Team at Ace Auto Protect, who insisted that I remove my original negative review and replace it with a 5-star review in exchange for immediate processing of my refund check—six months after my initial cancellation.

While on the phone with him, I was told that unless I submitted the 5-star review while he was on the line, my check would not be mailed that day. I complied, wrote the review under duress, and once he confirmed he saw it posted, he assured me the check had been sent and provided a tracking number.

Original Review – My Honest Experience

Ace Auto Protect has effectively stolen my money. I canceled my motorcycle extended warranty in September 2024, worth over $1,700, and have not received a full refund despite countless follow-ups.

I made numerous calls to Michael Rose (the original salesperson) and his supervisor, Thomas Williams. The company repeatedly passed me from person to person, each one promising a resolution that never came. I was told—twice—that my refund was under “investigation,” yet no meaningful action followed. After six months of this ongoing runaround, I had no choice but to:

Contact an attorney

File a police report

Begin pursuing additional legal action

The company eventually issued a partial refund, but they kept over $300 without justification. They denied my claim, failed to provide the service promised, and delayed the refund for half a year. This is fraudulent behavior.

The "Forced" 5-Star Review I Was Pressured to Post

"Thank you Marcus Miller, Accounts Supervisor of the Investigations Team at Ace Auto Protect, for resolving my claim with immediate action."

This review was written solely to meet their demand and get part of my money back. This is coercion and extortion.

Final Thoughts

I stand by my original review. Ace Auto Protect is not a legitimate or trustworthy company. Their business practices are unethical, deceptive, and possibly criminal. They should be investigated and shut down. A class action lawsuit is absolutely warranted.

Horrible. They took advantage of my elderly father. He paid for coverage and makes one claim they denied and couldn’t explain anything that made sense.
They cancelled his contract and promised he would receive a refund for the remainder of his money and he sent the requested paperwork three times incurring notary fees each time and they claimed they were not receiving the paperwork. He finally sent it again certified and it came back REFUSED.
These people scam the elderly, happily take their money and then cut contact and don’t follow through on their empty promises. Absolutely criminal. We have opened cases with the BBB and the AG. I will be the loudest voice against this company. I have all the correspondence and conversations. I have his VSP number and I have the name of the person he was dealing with. They have now just stopped responding. This company is horrible and should be charged with elder abuse and theft.

They don’t approve anything. They take days to get back. They ask for information from the dealer that has nothing to do with the problem of the car. If you get ace, you will lose your money. It’s the worse thing I ever spent money on
When you out in claims they ask the mechanic for things about your csr if you ever did business with that mechanic. They ask for so much stuff and it takes them so lint before they will even accept a claim. And after you put everything in it takes another 24 hours before they will determine whether they will cover your car. Most of the time they don’t approve and it’s cheaper just to fix your car than go through a service that you pay thousands of dollars for. I’m going to the attorney general. Do not buy this service

We previously gave ACE 5 stars, because the salesman Marcus Miller was so engaging. We are lowering to 1 star because, once the sale was done, there was no service. After our first car was totaled, before the coverage start date of the policy, we of course cancelled that policy and bought another policy from him for our new car. In order to get a refund on the first car, ACE required a notarized affidavit. We submitted all the paperwork but have still gotten no response from anyone, written nor verbal, despite several attempts, after spending $4600 on these two policies. We see from other reviews that clients have had similar problems, and that mechanics do not get paid either. So, we are canceling our new policy as well.

Great service and detailed explanations

I bought a comprehensive policy at a reasonable price. The salespeople were not overaggressive, much was my experience when gathering information from another company.

Complete rip off. These guys are not honest. They want your money up front and then deny any claim. Even when they agree to cover a fraction of the repair cost as a $500 "good will", the check never came. Do not waste your time.

ZERO STARS THEY ARE A FRAUDULENT COMPANY AND A SCAM. WHEN I DID MY FIRST CLAIM THEY SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT TOLD ME TO PAY OUTTA POCKET THEN WHEN MY CAR FIXED CALL THEM BACK WTH I REPORTED THEM FOR FRAUD AND GOING AFTER THEM NOW TO GET MY MONEY BACK PLUS!!! THEY WANNA TAKE YOUR MONEY THEN U HAVE RO PAY OUTTA YOUR OWN POCKET FOR A CLAIM. THIS COMPANY IS BS AND ITS A FULL SCAM AND NOT EVEN A LEGIT COMPANY. DONT GO THRU THEM. Bought the warranty in April of 2023, and my Toyota 4runner never thought I would need to use it, until one morning my car wouldnt start, I had to tow it to the shop, and they said I had a bad starter, and wanted $596.00 for the replacement, I called my Agent Michael at ACE Auto Protect and he told me to have them upload the estimate onto their website, which they did and within an hour the claim was approved. I went later that day to the shop to pick up the truck and everything was good to go, great service and easy to use. A+ for Michael and the Ace Team

great informative sales presentation without slandering the competition only emphasizing the good point of their company, contract and coverage perks. Michael Rose is a very competent represenative with strong professional skills that did not come accross as pushy! he even provided several web sites that had industry ratings confirming Ace Warranty as number1. I feel great about my decision based on M ichaels presentation, yimely answers and product offerings, straight up sales professional I strongly endorse ace warranty and Michael Rose!

I have not had to use your services yet; but if it is as good as the customer service i will not only recommend but be an advocate for the company!!!

This company is a scam. They should not be able to be in business. They do not return calls and do not honor their own contractual agreements. I have attempted to get a refund on a policy within 30 days (I made no claims) and followed their return policy, on ly to be lied to for months that check was in the mail. I am starting a court proceeding in California to get my funds returned. Request began May 2024 it is now March 2025.

Ace was sold on false claims. They refuse to cover repairs. They sold on policy claiming a 30 day or 1000 mile waiting period. After 60 days and over 4000 miles informed me I was under my 90 probation period that was never mentioned at time of claiming. I had work done,they said it would only cover $200 of cost. Submitted invoice. They replied is was far less than Submitted and repair shop needs to submit misdiagnosed. They refuse to pay $200 .

I cancelled my warranty, sent them the documents they requested and have followed up twice since I have heard nothing from them they keep saying they will look into it. I have given them till 2/17/25 to resolve this issue before my lawyer gets involved. Having gone back and researched them with the BBB, they have very negative reviews. Some say they are scammers. Looks like this will have to be resolved in the courts costing the more than the $1285 refund I am owed. Stay tuned. Buyer beware. 2/12 is last time I contacted them, previously contacted them twice before.

Interesting they say they have no record of my contract yet when I talked to them on 2/19/25 they said the process was started on 2/10/25. VSP 5198225

All this makes me believe they are a scam company. I still have not received my refund.
