Raife had a two week socialisation stay with Verity, going to her immediately I collected him from his breeder. He then went back a week after his 12 week vaccination. Verity is simply brilliant. Not only did Raife come back with fantastic training, throughout both his stays I received daily updates and twice weekly written reports plus photos and quick messages too. Clearly the communication that Verity had with me is replicated with the puppies. I cannot praise either Verity or Adolescent Dogs highly enough. Verity trained my other Labrador, Nelson, nearly six years ago and I knew she would be perfect for puppy Labrador Raife.

My 11 week old puppy attended a 2 week residential stay with trainer Sophie in Southampton and all I can say is I’m blown away. Not only was my puppy integrated into Sophie’s life but treated as part of the family and the training has been nothing but superb. She has really been given the best start to her training to become an assistance dog for my son. The daily photos and videos were just amazing and upon collecting my puppy, we had a very detailed handover showing me all the training so we can continue Sophie’s hard work. I can’t thank Sophie enough for all the training and I highly recommend her and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

I thought I was very clear. I STILL haven’t received the promised videos (don’t want them now - have moved on). Also still haven’t had my Red Dog Company items returned. They are an up market supplier of great dog accessories so my stuff is quite expensive. Really shouldn’t still be waiting for it to be returned.

I rarely leave any or bad reviews but I think I’ve been taken for a very long ride. Give me my property back after more than 6 months. I don’t want any offers of more training - as far as I’m concerned you don’t deliver any value for money.

We wanted to give our puppy the best start, by laying the ground work from an early age. Adolescent dogs and trainer bekki were amazing. We had regular updates and videos. It was great to see how much he was learning and gaining in confidence. Bekki is such a calm and patient person. She was reassuring on follow up session and our pup was so happy to see Bekki. He'll be going to have another residential stay in a few months. I feel better knowing he will be well looked after in a family home. It is a little costly but the company does offer special deals etc.

My puppy went for a 4 week stay as part of her bronze assistance dog award. She was really not motivated by food and I was struggling at home with training. Trainer Natalie worked exceptionally hard to build the foundations of working for rewards with her so that I could have a successful hand over and the skills to now build on that work back at home. There is such a difference in my puppy since she returned home and I have far more confidence to continue the training programme with her. I’m looking forward to her next stay with Natalie now to further develop the work put in so far.

Luna has just come home from her second stay with Katie. After her first stay we worked hard to keep her training up but had some set backs due to illness and then the teenager stage hit but throughout Katie was on hand for help and advice which really helped. I booked luna for her second stay due to needing some extra help with settling and her excitement around other dogs and i knew I wanted her back with Katie. I received daily updates along side a more detailed weekly email and my questions were always answered. The handover walk was really helpful to see the training in action and all my questions answered, Luna has come home happy, settled, calm and has been great on her walks so far and she's still her cheeky self full of love. I could see the bond she has with Katie and I know she loved her time there.

Our GSD was having trouble with daily walks he gets distracted by people and dogs very easily and pulls heavily on the lead as he is a big boy. After 3 weeks of residential training with Mike, he now walks perfectly even on busy roads in London. Listens to command well and much more focused when try to train him. We are so impressed what he has achieved and we would highly recommend adolescentdogs to anyone and their fur babies! Thank you for your hard work Mike!

My experience has been postive encouraging and even when I doubted myself the trainers and the group support has been nothing but wonderful. My needs have constantly changed Iver the two years training and Adolescent Dogs UK have been there every step of the way. I would thoroughly recommend the one to one training as it made my ad dig excel at a faster rate. The dog work shops have given me confidence and help reinforce the high expectations and a highly trained well behaved dog . When any issues arouse there are videos, guidance and weekly group chat and trainers on hand to help every step of the way. I trained a hudky if I cam you can contact them. It's the best thing I did.

I've been a customer of Adolescent Dogs for 11 months now and have taken my Poodle through their online Assistance Dogs owner training programme. I have also supplemented this with a few workshops ran in the Guildford area - 2 Assistance Dog workshops and 1 Recall training workshop, and 4 one to one sessions with Mike for med-alert training.

It's taken me 10 months to go through the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Mitigating tasks Novice and Advanced Awards, and finally the trainer assessed Public Access Test Assessment.

For each award you submit videos of your dog performing the required task, which Jenny then assesses and gives you feedback on - if more work is needed its always constructive and helpful. The online training programme is amazing, there's over 400 short videos to watch covering a huge variety of topics. As other people have mentioned, there's also 2 weekly expert-driven WhatsApp sessions for members for training tips and Q&A. Monthly challenges keep the training fun, I particularly liked the Toy Story one and had visions (for a day or two) of my dog becoming the next famous film dog.

My dog loves training, even though we've gone through the awards together I will still carry on dipping into the videos and user community as he is still relatively young, and being a poodle needs the reinforcement and stimulation of learning and receiving positive feedback.

If you're looking to train your dog this is a fantastic service, residential training, face to face workshops, online videos & discussions with experts - you have plenty of options and a community of like-minded people to discuss and pick you up when you have those challenging days.

It's not just for assistance dogs, its for anyone who want to train their dog whether for the basics, or more advanced behaviour. Thank you Jenny, Mike and the team I think you've created a fantastic service, and your insights and feedback in behaviour of both the dogs and the humans help people form amazing partnerships.

I have sent my poodle on 2 residential training stays so far (3 weeks each) with Adolescent dogs and i've already booked the 3rd one for this September. I was very unsure initially about sending Freddie (toy poodle) to her stay but it was the best decision I made. The training is intensive and tailored to what I prioritised, Freddie is intended to be an Assistance Dog with medical alert as her primary focus and it was important to me that the trainer and environment was right for her. Initially I intended to just do the basics with the 'junior trainer' and then the mitigation and assistance work would be trained with a 'senior trainer' but quickly changed my plans after realising the 'junior' was not the same as 'less capable', after that first session and seeing the quality of training and the bond that Freddie had made with Charlotte and the family we now have a plan to take Freddie from bronze to gold and public access as a team. I can't recommend Adolescent dogs, and Charlotte specifically, enough. It may seem expensive but having done weekly training sessions with other dogs I can say that its a lot cheaper and effective doing intensive courses. The feedback from trainers during and after the stays are detailed and there is a hand over to ensure that as a handler we reinforce and continue the training at home plus the trainer is always at the end of a whatsapp to answer questions.

Best thing I did was to bite the bullet and book Freddie in with Charlotte and the team.

I decided to send my puppy for a short residential training stay while on holiday. The service and experience I had with the company and specifically with my trainer Charlotte has been excellent.
In such a short stay I saw great improvement in his basic commands, lead walking and recall. Aswell as other aspects in his behaviour such as socialisation, settling and food drive. Charlotte was very knowledgeable and shared advice and tips throughout and after his stay which I found super helpful and insightful. I also received regular updates, pictures and videos which was brilliant to see. I have received regular check ins post the stay and appreciate all the resources provided which has all made me feel well equipped to carry on the training at home.

Reggie stayed with verity for 4 weeks as part of his bronze award for assistance dog training, during his time he made a special bond with verity which was so important not only for Reggie but for me as an owner, with that and the daily updates, photos and videos it made me as an owner feel very comfortable with verity. Over Reggies 4 four weeks away he made such a huge difference in his behaviour and also learnt some highly valuable skills as part of his training. I am incredibly grateful to verity for the time and effort she had spent with Reggie and we are very much looking forward to her carrying on Reggie’s training all the way until his fully trained. Taking 7 month and 6 month old puppies, Cooper and Skye on for training is no easy feat - as we discovered! We were recommended Adolescent Dogs by a friend who had had a very good experience with the company. Entrusting our beautiful pups with someone who knows how to deal with the challenges ahead was key to us making a decision to engage with Adolescent Dogs for some intensive training. We chose Petra Maggiore, one of the companies senior trainers based near Crawley.
Our journey started with a handover meeting on a short walk with the pups, Petra was learning as much about us as owners and our ways of handling the pups, as she was about the pups themselves. It was hugely rewarding watching in that short period, just how much relies on the psychological interaction with the dogs, and Petra's instant impact on behaviour.
After waving goodbye to Cooper and Skye for a four week residential stay with Petra, we were saddened by their absence, but also excited for the future. Petra sent us regular updates via WhatsApp, weekly reports on email and photos and videos of their progress, which was substantial. Petra quickly identified their own little quirks and was able to adjust the training for each of them accordingly. This was carried out on a one-to-one basis so that there were no distractions from each other.
Upon the course finishing, we had a handover walk with Petra and each of the dogs separately, so that we could observe their own progress and little traits.
Cooper and Skye continue to make good progress now they are back home, and we have had regular contact with Adolescent Dogs about Cooper and Skye's continuing training journey with us. This is supported by the Adolescent Dogs training portal, which we have access to as part of the package.
This company is very efficient, extremely engaging and I cannot speak highly enough of our experience.

Our daughter is medically complex, so much so that medical equipment is not readily available to help us keep her safe.

Adolescent dogs have helped us train our beagle Hattie, to such a high standard that she has saved our daughter’s life 3 times already and she hasn’t even passed gold yet.

An incredible support network, with a team of trainers that are second to none. When I joined, I was drowning in anxiety fear and extreme fatigue. Training Hattie has changed our lives, and I am able to rest.

The training structure is perfect, you can jump right in, or go as slow as your life needs you to, because there’s no time constraints, deadline or pressure.

Help is on hand via weekly Q&A live sessions, Facebook groups and WhatsApp. There’s monthly challenges to mix up the training, and residential training programmes to take the reins too.

The community feel to the programme, means there’s a team of people I can call friends rooting for me and my dog. Congratulating us when we succeed and picking us up when we fall.

Our one year old poodle has just come back from a two week residential training stay with Bekki. We were really worried about how Nelie would settle. Bekki offered lots of reassurance and talked through various options she had to keep Nellie happy and settled.

Throughout the stay we were kept really well informed about how Nellie was settling and how her training was going via what's app with plenty of photos and videos.

Nellie was treated as part of the family whilst away staying in Bekkis home. We received pictures of Nellie getting lots of cuddles on the sofa and going out on adventures everyday, she looked so happy Throughout.

Bekki provided a comprehensive update half way through the stay about how Nellie's training was coming along, what progress Was made and what Nellie was working towards.

The handover session at the end was fantastic, Bekki answered any questions and ensured we understood the ques that had been used.

A full report was also recieved at the end with all the information written down so we could go back and refer to it when needed.

Bekki has followed up after the stay to ensure Nellie is doing ok and offered ongoing advice if we have struggled.

Nellie is looking forward to her next holiday away with Bekki.

Katie our trainer was amazing! Patient, knowledgable, achieved so much with Butler and on hand over explained everything we needed to know to continue the good work. We had regular updates throughout his stay with pictures and 101 questions answered. We cannot recommend adolescent dogs or their trainer Katie enough!

If I could give Adolescent Dogs UK 10 stars I would. They helped me train my little Dog Dave from scratch to be fully fledged assistance dog . He passed his ‘Assistance Dog Public Access test in December 24. Jenny & Mike’s understanding of dogs is second to none- I can’t recommend this company highly enough.

I honestly am so grateful for the training and care that Hector has received! His barking has improved immensely and if his barking does escalate I now have the tools to deal with it and de-escalate the barking. As for his training, it’s coming along nicely as he is generally more calm and able to focus a lot easier! The residential program has changed my life completely and for the first time in a long time, I can see his potential and that is just everything to me! Can’t thank Sophie and the adolescent dogs team enough! You’ve truly changed my life! I’ll never be able to repay what the team has given me, but THANK YOU!

Really pleased with my experience with Adolescent Dogs. My 4 years old cavalier king charles spaniel went to in total 12 weeks of assistance dog training, over the course of 6 months with a trainer Petra who has been absolutely incredible. The owners have been supportive in sorting out all the official forms and have provided assistance with all bureaucratic matters.

Kassie did a really great job with our dog who stayed with her in June and July.

He is a very, very reactive boy to everything - frankly only relaxing in his own home. We live in a city so there are plenty of joggers, bikes, scooters, running children, motorbikes etc as well as a very high density of other dogs. He has now been back with us for just over a month and we can see that not only is he far less reactive - particularly to people and bikes - but much more importantly he has maintained this improvement. We are back enjoying having him around rather than fearing for every new encounter.

Kassie has given us tips on training but also helped us understand him as she clearly came to understand him really well over the time he spent with her. Our dog who is frankly not keen on anyone who is not his family, also clearly really loves her and Martin as he was very pleased to see them when we met up again yesterday. The time and effort Kassie and Martin must have spent getting to know our dog in order to predict and then modify his actions and reactions is a real testament to just how good Kassie is.
