10/10 customer support experience

Needed help getting back into my account as the number I initially registered with was not accessible to me. I liaised with Zenia, she was fast in her responses and had me back into my account faster than I could imagine. Absolute legend

This is a very bad bank

This is a very bad bank , they are fraud don’t ever put a large sum of money there. I use this as my main account for over 2 years and I had £3512 in my balance they lock my money asking for prove of funds I send it to them with other document they still not satisfied they close my account and promise to refund my money to me withing 28days which I wasn’t happy about I waited for 28days email them all they say is we will look into it it’s over a month now and they not saying anything specific about my money that a lot of money they are trying to steal from me . All they say is they follow the fscs regulations rubbish doesn’t fscs ask you not to release people funds . Please don’t use them it’s a scam organisation.

Thanks for your review Ola. That doesn't sound quite right, maybe I can offer some context here.

As a regulated financial institution, we sometimes need to close accounts. We never take those decisions lightly, and always have a valid reason for doing so.

We advise that in most cases, funds are returned within 28 days but we do make clear that this can take longer on occasion. I'm pleased to see that this was completed on day 29, and our team have been in touch with you throughout the process.

I wanted to just confirm as well that we've likely mentioned the FCA rather than the FSCS as you've stated here. As Algbra is an electronic money institution rather than a bank, we're required to safeguard all customer deposits, so the FSCS doesn't apply to us.

shocking customer service

shocking customer service. signed me out without excuse and cannot log in and closed my account.

Update to their reply :
I just messaged about an authorisation charge 0£ which I did not recognise ! You can block the card or close the account but you have given no access to my statements and you have my funds nor transfered to myself ! It’s a crime and a disgrace !

Absolutely amazing

Absolutely amazing. Allen and Lauren from the team were incredibly helpful. I got scammed by a company for a large amount and they helped me a lot thank you so much. Top people and support team defo my favorite

Had a problem with not receiving my…

Had a problem with not receiving my physical debit card after waiting patiently. On requesting an update, I got a reply quickly to say that a new card would be sent after reconfirming my address. Been using the virtual card in the interim and already seen cash back coming in

Closed account with no explanation.

I had been with Algbra for many years. Once I had started using it as my main account, they decided to close it.

I mainly used it as my day-to-day account for cash back. Yet when they sent me the balance of my funds, they deducted the money I had earned from them since the account opened.

I would advise others to use other Challenger Banks, as this one is not worth the cashback they offer - and then take away. Customer Service was also appalling during account closure. 'Matt' was useless.

Intrusive KYC

Wanted an extensive background check of all my financials, and even asked if I've ever held a public position of power.

What are you, the CIA?

No high street bank or any other financial institution asks for this much information.
