John Banks Big & Tall Menswear Avis 

I kept seeing the 5 star reviews and thought can it really be that good?
Well being 5 foot 21 inches I have lost count of how many times I buy stuff online only to send it back as either too tight, too small, not long enough or wide enough footwear.
This shop is just over an hours drive, so thought we should go, needed smart clothes for a wedding.
On arrival, we were welcomed by Sue, who was really good, knew the stock and I actually found the 1st pair of trousers were too LONG! and needed a shorter pair.
Also the shirt in extra tall was massive, never experience such quality and very keen prices. Nothing was too much trouble to get the outfit just right. And even added an extra couple of holes in the belt.
Ian, another store member helped out as well with some shoe purchases, again nothing was too much trouble.
Would really recommend a visit, if like me you struggle with clothes.
ps. The store which is family owned has been there since 1964

I visited the store today with my son who needed a suit for an upcoming family wedding. We were instantly made to feel comfortable by staff member Sue. She turned what we were expecting to be a nightmare shopping trip into an enjoyable one and we came away with the perfect suit for my son. She even convinced him to go with a pink tie which really sets the suit off. Her help was very much appreciated, I would highly recommend shopping here.

John Banks is special. We’ve been going for over 5 years now and as a tall guy the stock, service and quality is second to none. I particularly like the staff who take care to make sure you choose the right things which fit straight away. Particular thanks to Ian for his help in our recent visit.

Been to the shop for a few visits now to get suits for my wedding there was 4 variation of sizes we needed and nothing was any trouble even when I come to ordering in the team we felt with went above and beyond and made us all feel very welcome and comfortable no judgement on the large size too (myself) I would recommend these to anyone I know such a great experience especially as we had travelled all the way from Bedfordshire but definitely felt worth it I can’t thank you all enough for your great service/communication/support and friendliness. Massive shout out to Andy and sue there was another lady we delt with on other visits to so massive shout to her as-well unfortunately I didn’t catch her name.
Great range of clothing and suits I definitely spent a lot and walked away with a lot thank you again you will be remembered as a massive help and part of our big day to come on the 11 April 26!!!!

I've ordered from them many times. Alwaya excellent service. T-Shirts in the past. This time around 4 pairs of trousers.

A warm welcome into a shop is rare these days, but we were very warmly greeted by staff on arrival. The personal attention that we received also made the shopping experience fast, focussed and easy. Nothing was too much trouble, we felt valued as customers and the quality of the advice and clothing was excellent. I dislike shopping for clothes intensely, but John Banks make it, if not a delight, at least painless, simple and successful. A dying breed of retailer with standards of service not seen elsewhere.

Banks B&T is the no 1 retailer for extra tall imo. Good range of clothing, some decent bargains in their discount section. Reliable service, easy returns and easy to get hold of Customer Services ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Easy purchase, reasonable price

I have purchased my suits for office wear at this shop for a number of years & more recently have purchased more casual wear. Clothing sizes are now so variable that once you get beyond XL it is difficult to understand how a 2XL in one brand can be the same size as a 5XL from a different one. This shop is fabulous from the time that you walk through the door. The range of clothes is much better than some department stores & the staff are incredibly friendly & helpful. The same is true of the shoe dept located 30m away in the next building. Great news, you can try things on there & then & if it is not quite right the assistants are there to offer help & guidance. In addition to the suits & extra trousers available if required, I have bought Ed Baxter chinos & shirts for summer holidays etc. I have recently also bought Skechers trainers & shoes. There is an internet site for convenience but personally I just like going to the shop. Parking is right outside on a service road.

2XL jumper came up small, and no substitutes available

I live in Northern Ireland and despite Brexit difficulties , my orders always arrive by Post Office within a few days of order.
Similarly, returns are deal with just a quickly.

Thankyou for your insulting comments. I DID NOT ENTER YOUR SHOP AGGRESSIVE. Your managers behaviour on continuing to say the hem on the one pair was altered. IS TOTALLY INCORRECT. I came in to express concern on the fabrics flexability. Your manager along with the bodily support of your 3 staff behind you, intimidating in its self. And his lack of curtesy when walking to his kiosk followed by his support team. And turning his back on me, mumbling. All very intimidating and showing off to his staff and 2 customers in the shop. I was an elderly lady on her own, at this stage feeling nervous and intimidated, by his smug attitude. Then he Excellerating the situation by infront of your audinance showing me the door and shouting down the shop and previous to that insults of Youre Mad. Then sending out your a member if staff to take a picture of my car with me and my disabled husband in. The trousers were of no use to him, and again I categorically state were not altered. Your excuse for the rude approach of saying they were shortened. I wonder how you would feel if this was your mother or relative in the same situation. Bully tactics. YOU WOULDNT HAVE BEHAVED LIKE THAT TO A MAN, would you. Look at some of your other reviews on faulty or any complaints.
Shame on you, and a shame for the lovely lady who works for you. Who fully understood what I was trying to say about the fabric. I have spent a lot of money with Banks and intended to purchase a coat and some tops. Hence me saying I will not use you again. I still stick with what I have said, and may I suggest that you look a customer in the face and not turn your backs on them.
