Don't buy or sell to them
I bought a coin from the company for £495 – it was sold as “Aethlered II Helmet Type Wulfwine London”. This was 8th February 2023.
In October 2025 I wanted to sell it back to them. They offered me £110 for “Alfred II” coin, not an Aethelred coin. When I queried this, I was told that the valuer had handwritten the valuation, and the email sender had misread it. This seems extremely careless.
When I queried the price, they said they’d get another valuer to look at it and “I will be in touch by the end of the week”. That would have been 10th October, but still no communication.
I saw a similar coin recently on their website also for £495. I understand that companies need a decent mark up in order to make a profit, but the difference between £110 and £495 is huge.
I’ve bought sovereigns from them in the past, till I discovered coin companies that offer better prices and at least as good service.
I don’t recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am very sorry that your recent attempt to sell your coin back to us has been disappointing and that our communication has fallen short of expectations.
You are absolutely right that the misreading of the handwritten valuation was careless, and I apologise sincerely for the confusion this has caused. We have already reviewed our internal process to make sure valuations are recorded and checked more clearly going forward.
We also appreciate your feedback on pricing. Our offers are based on current market conditions and, for hammered coins, assessment by an external specialist. That said, we understand how frustrating it must feel to receive a much lower offer than anticipated.
As context, we now seldom buy or sell hammered coins, as the full-time member of staff who specialised in this area has retired. This means our valuations in that category are more limited than they once were.
I am sorry again for the experience you have had, and I appreciate the opportunity to learn from it. We are grateful for your past custom and hope that, despite this issue, you will consider us again in the future when purchasing modern proof or bullion coins, where we continue to offer competitive prices for both buyers and sellers.

Really good company. Good range of stock. Quick delivery. Never had a problem so far. Slightly higher premium than other, but probably get a bit more service for your money. Recommend.
