Brook Street Avis 

It's absolutely a joke,I applied for a job providing my right to work document in the UK(definite leave to remain), and they said we can't accept it as it has an expiry date (all definite leave to remain has an expiry date of December 2024), then they ask me for a share code that I provide and they said sorry we can't accept it because it has an expiry date, knowing that the share codes are valid only for 30 days, and all this information are available in gov.uk website.
Normally they should now this information or at least do some search and you will get information you need, really lack of professionalism.

Not good experience with Brook Street Ashford, supposedly I done wrong whilst on a temp assignment so this organisation contacted Brook Street telling them they don't want me and Brook Street claim they contacted me on a friday but not left a voice mail (they do NOT contact me no miss call text etc from them) only for them to tell me very very late on a sunday evening not to attend work next day !!! Great communication or what !!!! Not Happy !!! Also on google 2 out of the 3 5 star reviews are workers that work at the Brook Street Ashford branch - very misleading so yeah not everything is always black and white as it appears to be, never going to use them again !!!

I have plenty experience of good and bad agencies, unfortunately brook fall into the later. Incompetent doesn't come close. Three weeks to get back to candidates then not even bothering to respond to a reply I sent re another position you offered. I'd call this a lucky escape, when you are incapable of getting the basics right you are not a business I want to do business with. Even spoke to a team leader expressing my concerns and said there was no way I'd want to work for such a company then she tried to sign me up!

Brook please don't patronise we with you faux concern. It doesn't wash.

Absolutely useless as. Agency. They have completely gone downhill. I use to work for Brook Street back in the early 90's and I can tell you, the staff were a lot more professional, and kept me regularly up-to-date about suitable job vacancies or temporary positions, and give feedback if I attended interviews etc. All changed now. Staff need better training. Would NOT recommend !!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of dealing with Clare who I can not thank enough for helping me find a job she definitely is a credit to the company & if anyone has the pleasure of dealing with her then you are in safe hands.

Avoid this agency & go through a different one if you can, really regret ever contacting them & sending my personal details over. Unprofessional.

I applied for a job in October and still did not start.First they had to do some checks but when I got them I was told that they wait for a start date.I tried to call them but there is no reply.
Last week I received an email with start date on Monday but is Thursday now and I have no information about where to go and no reply from my emails.

I work there. But I have never before been employed by such a not-carrying and ignorant agency. They always have problems, first not paying on time or wrong pay, un-reachable when you need them because then phone system not working, and then website not working, they employing people but not carrying for it, they prefer be in holiday as be available.

They will always pay you the wrong amount, they will never care about your problems and ignore any solutions you will offer, they will never take responsibility for their mistakes and ignore questions that will show they are wrong. You exist to fill the spot, no proper training will ever be given, you will be aspected to do overtime every time they need and they will insist calling you several times no matter if you are on sick leave or holidays, if they pay you wrong which is very often you will have to wait for your money to get paid next week making you loose money by paying higher taxes and often get you trough financial hardship or overdraft. I am still working at the moment at Sevington (Ashford branch)where you will rarely be treated like you should and never be appreciated and heard.

Sarah from Brook Street contacted me about the position of order processor coordinator, and she was fantastic. She explained everything on what was expected to do in the role, giving me a thorough understanding of what the job entails. Sarah is incredibly. Also, providing me with techniques and support while encouraging me throughout the entire process. Thank you Sarah Smith, you are a star.

I was initially offered a role with this agency, they pestered me to give my notice before my current contracted ended, which stupidly I did!!
After which it was a constant battle with forms and jumping through hoops(never had problems with other agencies)
Any way my new job was supposed to be starting 19/12/2022.
The stress with this agency is in towards, I have now left my current role, Brook street told me they had everything they need, but then Wednesday 14/12/22 they now asked me to send proof on my NI I offered to send a wage slip, that was not good enough, it has to be done on a government gateway you need a p45 which I have not even got!!
In the end I signed with another agency that took an hour and was offered a role to start January and also better pay!!
Needless to say I have now declined any work with them and I will never deal with them again the whole process is just one big stress ball, I would advise not working through this agency people have also commented on they cannot even pay you correctly.

I contacted Brook Street seeking employment and spoke to Colleen who was absolutely fantastic and she helped me get a Job in my chosen sector. She provided me with interview techniques and kept in contact with me through out the whole process. I recommend Brook Street and colleen to anyone looking to take the next step in their career.

Brook Street Recruitment were brilliant.

Very poor towards the people that earn them their commission. Colleagues haven't submitted timesheet, through various circumstances and Brook St Point blank refuse to help. Leaving people in financial difficulties. When Brook st overlook processing wages, again very unhelpful, for some bizarre reason they don't use BACS, so when they don't process wages, the contractor is left for 3 days with no money.
Currently sitting on a huge pile of backdated money. Been aware of this for several months, but not paying out to the people that are owed, despite many contractors leaving . This is now bordering on illegal, retaining monies owed. Are Brook st, going to pay out the interest they are earning from our money?
Claiming its too big a job, to sort out quickly. This is untrue as a Colleague managed to collate relevant info from approx 16 Colleagues in 10 mins. Surely BS have several payroll / techs that can use spreadsheets and sort this quickly and efficiently instead of fobbing contractors off? The intervention of several highly placed managers has made no difference & they continue to retain money that is not theirs.

Colleen my adviser from Brook St Belfast was brilliant from start to finish. From updating my C.V to organising a interview for me all done within a day. Advice on the interview like dress code and what I could expect to be asked was invaluable plus a text wishing me luck was very much appreciated. One week later I got the job.

I joined the Agency ( Newcastle branch ) approximately three months ago but could not complete any shifts until I had completed certain mandatory training. Now finally this is complete ( great training and trainer Danny thank you :) yay I’m now raring to go ! Throughout my experience to date Rebecca Brown my coordinator has been friendly, polite, professional, understanding and approachable. Plenty of work available and sent out to me regularly. She understands my limited availability and I do not feel pressured in any way, just encouraged and valued. Thank you :) Erin B

I can’t complain about this agency, others have said how they feel and fortunately that’s not how I’ve been treated in the Newcastle branch. Both Matthew and Becky have been upfront and only offered the type of work I’ve asked for. I don’t feel pressured to take work, nor do I feel I’m left at the back of the queue when I turn work I feel unsuitable for down. All in all I’m happy picking up shift as and when I need them. (This is a part time job for me not my only job!)

My coordinator has always kept be up to date with hours and new vacancies. Really positive and proactive to my cause.

I have been with this agency twice now and should have learnt the first time. My initial role was case handler which transpired to cold calling elderly near retirement age to invest their pension... The 2nd was and interview and offered the role on the spot for a higher pay, numerous documentation for ID requests was sent across, then they wanted a video call showing the ID, then it was decided that my current enhanced DBS certificate was showing a different address to my bank statement (it wasn't) numerous emails and calls the original position was withdrawn " business interests" in the space of this I had been successful in 3 other roles which I had turned down directly with employers... I was then offered a min wage role which was to be followed up by a phone interview which never transpired. I'm now with a very hands on agency who have found me a role (the role that Brook Street said had been withdrawn)
