I dealt with Leigh at the Cardiff branch. He was supportive. Everything went smoothly. The placement was really good.
The pay was good. We were paid on time and correctly. The payslips and timeshares were self explanatory and easy to navigate.
I would definitely work for them again.

Harry was very keen to get me started with a Home Office vacancy that had I had applied for. After sending all the necessary documentation that was needed, I had to continually chase up for an update. Then, finally he said the position was oversubscribed. Total waste of time. He did offer an alternative position, but obviously paid no attention to my CV or what I had told him the position he offered was in fact my previous employer!
I tried to contact him again re further vacancies and he actually blocked me from contacting him - totally unprofessional!
If you can, avoid using this agency and apply direct to Government Department's where possible and most of all swerve Harry at all costs.

Very unorganised… not a reassuring sense of professionalism when trying to apply for a job with them. Very long slow and testing process to get even close to starting work.

The worst company I have worked for. Firstly, I was given a start date when I first received my offer for a role which then was delayed for a week because the person I was dealing with did not sort my documents in time, despite me sending them weeks before my start date and I had to resend them again. Also, this meant I was unemployed for a week and had no income. Secondly, and most importantly, the company that hired me through Brook Street informed us we were entitled to a pay rise and Brook Street promised it would be backdated to the start of the tax year when it was introduced. I never recieved my backdated pay and once I left the company, I had to chase them up for six months to receive my backdated pay which was around £200. They repeatedly would promise me it would be sorted in couple of weeks but nothing happened for months. They were not even apologetic when they finally sent the money 6 months after I was entitled to it.

I would like to say a humongous thank you to Ella Mai, she was so helpful, polite, friendly she totally went above and beyond for me to find me work. She kept me updated every step of the way hopefully I won’t have to use her again as she found me the perfect job but I would highly recommend her to everyone. THANKS ELLA X

I was in contact with Shilpa who approached me. My CV was of interest to a particular client of hers, i was firstly after a week sent quite a rude email as if her waiting for their response was my fault. The 3/5/2023 I was told id have a reply by the end of the week from herself. Well its now 3/6/2023 and nothing…….
Unprofessional. Avoid.

Best advice I'd ever evr give is to NOT use this agency.
The recruitment staff do not care at all, you are just a number, they tried to tell me my BIRTH CERTIFICATE was not a valid form of secondary ID, yes it was the original too, then made me travel all the way to Bristol ( I do not drive) so it can "authenticated" I was in the office for 2 minutes where they just photo copied it. They do not help/advise on new assignments after your placement is done and most staff I interacted with were rude and incompetent. Trust me, do yourself a favour and go else where, anywhere but here.

I made a call to Brookstreet and my contact was Darren Dymek. I like to say he was very prompt in acting for me. He asked for all my relevant personal details and my CV. Within days Darren put me forward for a perspective job role that suits me and the employer wanted to see me immediately for an interview. Darren was very confident in me. He contacted me throughout and when he promised to make a call the next day at a particular time, he did. I am grateful for his service. All should be working like him. Thank you DARREN.

Would just like to say a big thank you to Danielle H (Holborn Branch) & Anisa K from the Compliance team. Both have been fantastic with my on-boarding at Brook Street.
Initially had a chat with Danielle regarding a temp role on 30.03.23 & had an interview on the 31.03.23. I have been offered the role & due to start next week.
Anisa, my compliance coordinator was always on hand with any slight compliance issues & things were resolved very quickly. Considering there were two bank holidays during the on-boarding process, I really didn't think I'd be starting the role so quickly!

I’ve worked for Brook Street since June 2019 (Croydon) and I have never had anyone looking after me as well as Lynda and Jessica have! I don’t have much communication with others but everyone else in this team seems as lovely 😊

I was approached directly by them regarding a remote job, they found my CV online. They discussed in detail how my experience was 'highly suitable' for a particular role & were interested in the 'vast knowledge & experience' I had! I agreed they could proceed & forward my CV to their client. A day later they called back & asked if I was eligible to work in the UK.I am as I am a British Citizen. They asked if I had an valid DBS check (required for the role).I confirmed that I had this. They then randomly asked if I had a passport...I dont as I do not travel. They then claimed they were not able to progress any further as I did not specifically have a passport & stated that I could never have had a DBS check done without a passport....erm I've had checks done over the last 15yrs & never needed a passport, other ID has always been accepted, plus I had already told them I have a current clean check! They then switched tact & stated I didn't have the correct experience for the role & wouldn't proceed any further. What a disgusting set up! Brook Street dont know what they are talking about & really do not know about the legal side of recruitment. They are unprofessional, ignorant & running an illegal set up. Avoid at all costs

From my CV they contacted me. It was for a remote job which I was ideal for having recently completed 20 months in a high pressured remote job. They then asked me a number of questions to further the application and I awaited word as to when they would want to interview me. I have just been turned down was it because I did not have the experience and was not suitable. NO !! It was purely because I have not traveled abroad for many years and DO NOT HAVE A PASSPORT. Totally illegal and Leigh Passingham I will be taking legal action against you.

The agency found my cv online and called me to ask if I could start a role the next day. They led me to believe that I was signing up to a 3 month role. It sounded ideal.
They then came across a pushy and made me sign the contract.
I went into the company office and did 2 days of training. The company then told me that it was only a temp role.
The agency then contacted me next day to tell me the role was fulfilled by an external candidate. This was not told to me on initial sign up.

I found her quick response effective and professional. I have deleted my previous review due to her kind and sympathetic approach and for this reason, I am giving this company 5 stars.

I wrote a review previously little did I know it was going to hit me in the face! Waited 1month for a start date the whole application/verification process was time taking as well then I received a phone call saying the clients are not taking any more on what a joke I refused other employments because of that and then I was told someone from the team in Newport would get back to me to discuss available roles and yet to date no communication from anyone.

It's absolutely a joke,I applied for a job providing my right to work document in the UK(definite leave to remain), and they said we can't accept it as it has an expiry date (all definite leave to remain has an expiry date of December 2024), then they ask me for a share code that I provide and they said sorry we can't accept it because it has an expiry date, knowing that the share codes are valid only for 30 days, and all this information are available in gov.uk website.
Normally they should now this information or at least do some search and you will get information you need, really lack of professionalism.

Not good experience with Brook Street Ashford, supposedly I done wrong whilst on a temp assignment so this organisation contacted Brook Street telling them they don't want me and Brook Street claim they contacted me on a friday but not left a voice mail (they do NOT contact me no miss call text etc from them) only for them to tell me very very late on a sunday evening not to attend work next day !!! Great communication or what !!!! Not Happy !!! Also on google 2 out of the 3 5 star reviews are workers that work at the Brook Street Ashford branch - very misleading so yeah not everything is always black and white as it appears to be, never going to use them again !!!

I have plenty experience of good and bad agencies, unfortunately brook fall into the later. Incompetent doesn't come close. Three weeks to get back to candidates then not even bothering to respond to a reply I sent re another position you offered. I'd call this a lucky escape, when you are incapable of getting the basics right you are not a business I want to do business with. Even spoke to a team leader expressing my concerns and said there was no way I'd want to work for such a company then she tried to sign me up!
Brook please don't patronise we with you faux concern. It doesn't wash.
Absolutely useless as. Agency. They have completely gone downhill. I use to work for Brook Street back in the early 90's and I can tell you, the staff were a lot more professional, and kept me regularly up-to-date about suitable job vacancies or temporary positions, and give feedback if I attended interviews etc. All changed now. Staff need better training. Would NOT recommend !!!!!!!!!
