Extortionate fees
Lied about fees on the phone. I did not say this was an emergency. I had a problem with a lock which stopped opening from the inside. They said it was broken so needed new. They gave me a price which showed no resemblance to final bill. They took out the old lock said the key had to broken to get out! They gave me a hand written invoice which did not itemise the job or have his name on. He spend 20 minutes on the job and my bill was a touch short of £700!!!
Steer clear scammers who abuse people…
Steer clear scammers who abuse people with extortionate pricing . This is the company that is trading out there under LRS-Locksmith.co.uk (Please bear in mind this has no relation to LRSLocksmith.co.uk which is reputable same web address but without hyphen) Was initially told £45 over phone to call out and was made to believe unless difficult this would be the price . Guy managed to open the door with airbag took 5 mins and then said it would be £81+vat when no mention of vat prices over phone. He then said he would need to comeback next day and that a replacement lock would be £350-£500 . On that we told him we would go elsewhere. I looked at lock next day and checked images online to establish make and model of lock and also found that a single part was common issue. Purchased part and fitted myself for £10 yes just £10.. to add even a new lock was only £100. In short as per other reviews these guys are rip off scammers steer clear and always always check reviews and take a minute before calling any trade .
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. They are unscrupulous when you’re in need. They are extortionate and lie about their charges. I am going to find out more about how they ba stopped.

MENACING WHEN CHALLENGED
Price was a rip off
Price was a rip off. Called first locksmith we saw after the door failed, I had to go out and partner let them in, I got back and work was under way. He talked a good game and I felt compelled to follow through, showed some website prices which I now know were inflated. Job was done, but the price is ridiculous having now looked around, angry at myself. Came to pay and then had VAT added at the end. Take a moment and shop around.
SHOCKING !!!
In shock how bad this company is. Got locked out and left the key the other side of the door so was unable to open from the outside. Got told they would be with me within 30 minutes . When I asked for a rough price how much it would be I got told they didn’t know untill they saw the door.
When the man arrived he was very rude. Told me he would have to drill the door to get the key out. Literally he sprayed wd40 in the locked and then poked the key out. He charged us £208 !! Literally he was at my house for no longer than 20 minutes. When I argued the price and said it was a lot he they stood with one foot in my door until I signed the paper work to say I was happy with the work.
I've basically been charged £150 for…
I've basically been charged £150 for prising my door open. Not even a lock change and he still insisted on charging £25 for VAT. I fully understand that I have to pay for the emergency call out and the "work" done but £150!!
I wish I read the reviews before calling them. Rip off
Charged £378 for replacing a lock..came…
Charged £378 for replacing a lock..came in a Audi, not company car..told it will cost £90 to break the lock and to replace a new lock another£120.. after replacing the lock asked for £378.. will not use them and I feel really frustrated to have lost the money to a scamming company..every one be aware..
Avoid at all costs!!!!
I hadn't actually approached this company but they were used as a locum for a local company I did use. Unclear pricing and extortionately expensive. Having just had my lock cut and replaced I am sad to say I am appalled at the extortionate cost.
The chap turned up and said it would cost £120 to cut the lock. Expensive I thought as would be cheaper to just buy an angle grinder myself but he’s here so might as well proceed.. This took the whole of 5 minutes. Then when it came to a replacement he started reeling off various options, I went for the cheapest which sounds like £80. It was actually £120, then £80 for the cylinder which is slightly confusing in its own right. Totalling at worst £320 now..
Then when it came to the bill I get told there are labour costs and emergency call outs as well as VAT bringing it to £540. I did say not sure why it was classed as an emergency in the middle of the day on a Thursday and I never said it was. He did reduce this to £480 but still at outrageous price and I certainly won’t be using their services again.
Rubbish
Actually dosnt destiny stars .. scammers cost me nearly £600 as I locked myself out disgusting was there 20 mins 😡
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. I was told there would be a £45 call out fee plus the cost of the lock. When the guy arrived he changed the lock in about 20 minutes and presented me with a bill for £450. I refused to pay and asked him to take out the lock he had just fitted and leave. I paid the £45 call out fee which had mysteriously increased to £50.
Stay well clear of these
Seems I have to echo all the other many comments with my post. My mum is 83 and found she was unable to close her back upvc door. She called what she thought was a local family run locksmith to see if they could help. They said the call out would be £90.00. They advised they would attend at 7pm. She then got a call from a London number (she lives in Devon) to say they were running a little late. Two men arrived at 9:30pm. They had a look at the door and removed the strip lock. Then said they needed to replace it which would cost £1300.00. These strip locks can be purchased for around £70.00. Fortunately mum refused stating she didn’t have that sort of money. They kept on pressuring her trying to get her to agree, eventually an hour or so later she asked them to leave. They then tried to say as she a pensioner they could reduce the cost to £600 + the £90 call out. She again refused and only paid them the £90.00 and got a handwritten receipt after insisting she needed one. I live 150 miles from mum but drove there today. The lock they removed had been thrown on the floor and left. I re-fitted the lock and it was working fine. The problem with the door was being upvc the packers that square the door had slipped. I adjusted the packers and the door closed and locked without any issue. These guys are simply charlatans who prey on the old and vulnerable. I will be contacting trading standards to ensure they have the incident recorded. STAY WELL CLEAR
RIP off merchant
RIP off merchant. Made the mistake of contacting this locksmith. Charged £576 for a job that should have been £200 max. Charged £180 for a part worth £12.99 on Halfords. Have reported the company and urge everyone else to as well.
Avoid Rogue Trades in your area
These guys are just parasites of the industry we have been to many jobs after these so called locksmiths have visited and have seen receipts for unnecessary works done at 10x the price it should of been drilling locks when not needed refusing to gain access the correct and non destructive way we have all been trained to do, totally unacceptable for example yesterday lady was locked out keys inside upvc door very quick and straight forward job it should of been with no parts required , these guys told her all sorts of rubbish drilled out a perfectly good 3 star dimple lock taking over a hour to get through it and replaced it with a standard £4 lock costing her £516 when it should of been £59 2 seconds gain access. We have come across this a few times now and have taken screen shots of these invoices as we are starting a case against them with Citizens advice & Trading Standards hopefully they can take against these Rogue Traders.
We called this company out on a Sunday…
We called this company out on a Sunday as we couldn’t open our front door he turned up in a car which should of rang bells but we were desperate to be able to get out of our house. After an hour or so he had drilled out the lock on our door and said we needed a new mechanism and gear unit for the door he didn’t have the part which we have since learned is a part usually carried in the van. He left us without being able to lock the door and said he would get the part for the next day and charged us £642.00 for the privilege. After a sleepless night he called later the next day and said he could get the gear box and it would cost £350.00 and we would have to go another night without locking the door. We decided to try another locksmith and he came out within twenty minutes and fixed the door the part costing £59.00 this company overcharged us massively and have terrible customer service do not use !!!
Estimate given was £49 if straight forward bill was. £202!
Estimate given was £49 if straight forward. Took 20/25mins, no new parts. Bill £202. Booked through Book a Local Locksmith ( which has high Trustpilot rating).
Locksmith worked forBSSecurity MaintenanceLtd.
He arrived promptly but the above tells the story. I would not recommend this company.

My elderly dad was locked out,his key would not turn in front door.
He called what he thought was a local locksmith, he had to wait 3 hours outside in the cold( they are not local to canvey)
It was a Sunday but during the day, the locksmith drilled out the lock and replaced with new lock and keys.
For this they charged my elderly, cold, distraught dad a disgraceful £1229 !!!
Unfortunately he paid without argument
This is not a fair or reasonable price and clearly took advantage of a distraught 84 year old man
Totally disgusting
No Stars. Extortion.
NO STARS! Trustpilot can you please provide an option for no stars or some other method that signals an outfit that is not merely subpar, but actually extortionist bordering on criminal as these BS (BullS**t) people are. It's beyond outrageous, they need to be stopped. If anyone on this thread knows a where BS can be reported with effective ouput, please share. There is the Trading Standards Board, not sure how effective they are.
