Just got charged nearly £3000 to change the door lock after I got locked out.

I was quoted £120 labour which I accepted. This is what was charged but then a replacement lock was charged at £189+VAT. I later looked it up and these locks are £12! This company is a scam. Do not use them.

I contacted this company because it was said to be local. We had completely lost our only key to the back door so urgently needed a new lock. They phoned me and said they would arrive between 2 and 3pm but were over an hour late. I expected a van to arrive with the company name on the side but instead a young man arrived in a BMW . He had very limited English with a strong Eastern European accent and when I asked out of interest what his nationality was he said Spanish. I was slightly taken aback because we visited Spain extensively over a long period of time and I speak some Spanish and know the accent very well. He had his wife in the car and told us a if we wanted the same type of lock (high security) it would cost £280 which we thought was fair. After what seemed like a very long time of him dismantling the door handle he told us he was missing a part and his boss would be able to bring it in 10 minutes. 40 minutes later, his boss and another chap arrived. Both had similar Eastern European accents and a poor command of English. With the job eventually finished we were handed an invoice for £672! At no point were we informed what the final bill would be and genuinely thought we had been quoted £280 for the entire job. Too late, I googled reviews and my stomach sank when I saw all the bad reactions. Mostly one star. Feeling a bit sick and stupid to say the least.

He already fitted it before could say no..

Our front door lock seized and we couldn't close the front door. Called this company who said they would be with me in 30mins to an hour. They didn't actually turn up until about 3 hours later. Took the front door locking mechanism apart and told me the gearbox and lock was defective. Replaced both and charged me a whooping £984 for the work. Later I found out from a local locksmith it should have been around £200-£250. A complete rip off organisation. SHAME ON YOU!!

After disputing the charge he took 20% off how kind bill was still £1078 stay well away!!! Do not use!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! And if you do, when you inevitably get ripped off fight back! I foolishly used them for their locksmith services, and got charged 4x the going rate. The “technician” also proposed leaving my door unable to close let alone lock for up to five days! I gathered evidence, threatened legal action, and after standing firm received a refund. DO NOT LET THEM BULLY YOU! They will fold when faced with legal action

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I'm taking action and reporting. I just had a lock changed booked through Freedom Lock Bishopston in Bristol. The receipt is from BS Security Maintenance Limited with a London number that I just called and the company is registered in London and not under security. I was calling to complain that I'd just been fleeced on the lock having tried to call the Bristol number the repeatedly now gets cut. I asked who they are and told a subcontractor to freedom lock when they're busy. The person on the phone sounds the same. I cannot find a registered company for Freedom Lock. I only needed the barrel changed, I was told an engineer would call to advise. I'd bought an entirely new lock myself which was then the wrong size and not needed and they didn't stock Yale - on the phone I was told that they did and they charged £2 more for the entire lock so order myself. The barrel that costs max £12 incl VAT was charged at £45 + VAT Which I'd already challenged when the guy was here. I nearly stopped the guy from starting work he was already making excuses about not being able to come back if I got the correct lock and something seemed off when I said someone hadn't called me.

A representative arrived from this company taking advantage of my mistake after I thought I had phoned a trusted local trader. He charged us £654 for supplying and fitting a lock which I later found out to be available for £38,00 on line. He broke our window (vehemently denying responsibility) and then under pressure knocked £200 off his so called bill. Don’t use this company! They are complete fraudsters.

The costs were astronomical, they take advantage of people who usually desperate. AVOID, AVOID at all costs as you will be scammed into paying a ridiculous amount for a relatively quick job. We got stunned for over £1000!

Unfortunately my 89 year old mother in law called them out to her flat when the lock wouldn’t work. The locksmith was quick to arrive but then fleeced her for £450 by drilling out the lock. Charged £130 to fit a new lock which was provided by the building manager. Absolutely disgusting that they call themselves professional!

Same as others. They just insist on drilling and spoiling the lock and door without thinking about any solutions

I was saying there is key there on otherside of window. Can you just pull it and they deny.

I was impressed with how quickly they came after I locked myself out of the house and they did a good job, I thought, until I saw the bill. £622 when my insurance company's emergency locksmith would have done it for £250. Why did they give me no option for the replacement lock but just install the most expensive? I wouldn't use them again.

Complete crooks. Despite telling us on the phone they wouldn’t need to damage the lock, they drilled it out before we could even discuss it and then tried to charge £200 for a replacement. I bought a new one for £18 the next day at a locksmith. Never use these guys.

This company is a fraud and don’t know how to do a simple job. Tell you it is £45 charge, knowing that you are desperate and need to get into you property and then hit you with other charges. When the guy turned up he couldn’t use the plastic card that all my previous locksmiths have used to gain entry. He said he has to drill the lock and replace it, what I wasn’t told was that there was a £39 charge extra for callout!. Then they hit me with a further £50 charge for lock replacement. Do not use this company I learn’t the hard way and only paid because of my mental health issues, I am in touch with my bank to get my excessive money paid.

Called out to pick a letterbox at my flat where I had lost the keys. Said couldn't be picked and need to drill it out. Said I can do that myself as Im a tradesman with drills and bits. £54 call out, spoke to the lad for about 2-3 min. Sent a link via mobile to pay, each time i try and pay the link doesn't work.
I happend to bump into a proper locksmith who was doing work elsewhere in the flat complex about a week later, and he picked it in 30 seconds, no charge! He said if I was to try and drill it out, then I would never be able to get the lock out as it would ruin the pins inside.
Still not been able to pay for the original call out, BTW.
