A life changing experience, I've you've ever came at a cross road in life and don't know what to I recommend doing this course.

Ahhhh, Bushwise, what can i say, i just completed their 23 week course on becoming an apprentice feild guide and all i can say is Amazing, the staff on ground are extremely friendly and helpful as well as the staff away from campus in the office department, the food was amazing, accommodation was really good and some days i really wish i could have had more sleep😅, but there is still more than enough time to get your sleep in😅. The course was an amazing journey and i made a lot of friends as well as memories along the way.

I really enjoyed the course!! I found the content informative and relevant. I enjoyed the extra courses that was presented to us and feel like these add skills that we wouldn’t necessarily have considered important, but is going to be of great service. The staff was helpful and open, they really went the extra mile and we all appreciated all their efforts to make the course as comfortable as possible. Sometimes the communication process could have taken place more effectively, however these were minor cases, such as training providers changing dates and times.
Furthermore I really enjoyed the South African Wildlife College and think that it creates a great opportunity to get to know different people and provides ample learning opportunities!! Thank you Bushwise!!

My experience at Bushwise

I was very excited to start at Bushwise as I've wanted to do this course for a long time now.
Once we all settled in, Bushwise became very eventful, exciting and a rewarding experience.
We had great entertainment nights, breathtaking views and sigtings. Studied together which made us motivated to do even better. I learned more than I could've ever dreamed of at Bushwise and I am eager to learn so much more.
Everyday at Bushwise reminded me why I want to work in this field, there was never a dull moment and you never see the same things twice. Waking up with a cup of coffee and a breathing view followed by an elephant or something in the road as traffic. Yes please... Anyday!

This course at Bushwise had been something eventful. The trainers are very supportive and provided us with tons of support and knowledge while also keeping it a fun and interactive learning environment. All in all it’s been a wonderful experience meeting all of the students and trainers.

My overall experience at bushwise was incredible, the training is great with awesome trainers doing their best to help us.
I would recommend bushwise too there’s as I feel it is a great bush school where the experience and training are excellent

Coming to Bushwise was an experience that won't be forgotten any time soon. The adventure from start to finish has been well worth every imperfection and the Bushwise quality and standard surpassed many expectations. Thank you Bushwise for not just giving us/me a foot to stand on, to start off in this industry, you gave us legs and boots too!

My time with Bushwise has been great. The first couple of months we went through all the modules we had to learn for the Bushwise test and they prepared us well for the FGASA test we had to take later. During the course we had ample opportunity to go to Makalali Nature Reserve and try to incorporate our gained knowledge and create a guided experience for our ‘guests’ (Which were fellow students). Being able to learn guiding in front of our friends made it a little bit less daunting to guide a drive.
All in all my experience with Bushwise has been great and would definitely recommend it to everyone trying to get into the guiding industry.

I joined bushwise I July 2021, made my decicion to leave Switzerland and make a lifelong dream come true by joining the bushwise field course. Learning about the bush, hearing, feeling and seeing what is out there and what there is to know, was a great experience. I can't wait to see what lies ahead, now six months in I'm looking forward to the placement, to get the practice for everything we got taught.
It was a very intense time, spending six months with a bunch of people I haven't met before and due to covid we weren't able to leave the campus at first. Luckily we got a nice property and sables.

The past 6 months with Bushwise have been nothing short of amazing. Of course it has been filled with highs, lows, & things that could be done differently but overall, the experiences I have had living in the bushveld of Africa will forever be life changing. From observing elephant behavior on the porch of our tents to learning from the best trainers in the industry, the knowledge gained from the Bushwise course exceeded every expectation I had. Living & training on a reserve in Greater Kruger provided an opportunity that not many will get to experience in this life and provided lessons that simply can't be taught from reading a textbook. One can't say enough about the trainers we had in creating this environment and the patience & efforts they exerted to ensure everyone succeeded during this course.

As an international student, there are many frustrations of trying to get the opportunity to crack into the conservation industry in South Africa but the staff at Bushwise offer patience, insight & support to help give you the best opportunity possible.

Being quite an analytical person, I had gone into a lot of investigation when I was looking for a training provider. This I had to do to ensure that I get the right level of training and make the big shift in my career path.
Little did I know that I would leave the training program with one of the best experiences of my life and fully prepared for the guiding career ahead of me.
The Bushwise community is very close to my heart and I would be proud to carry the Bushwise flag going forward.
We started as strangers and left as family, thank you Bushwise!!!
