Total scam company
Total scam company. They send you a $300 packet of Pictures of your child. Mine came the day after I already ordered what I could afford online. I’m a single mother now I have to go out of my way to return the box of pictures of my own child that I did not open. This company is disgraceful, especially in an economy like this they should be ashamed of themselves.
An Obscene and Predatory Racket - A European Parent's Nightmare
I am utterly appalled and disgusted by the business practices of Cady, which I've just had the misfortune of experiencing through my daughter's American school. This is, without a doubt, the most predatory and extortionate system I have ever encountered for something as simple as a school photograph.
We were informed that to get any photos of our daughter, we would have to pay a minimum of $179. This is not for a lavish, multi-hour private photo shoot; this is for a standard school grade photo. It is an obscene amount of money designed to squeeze every last dollar out of families.
But the price is only the beginning of this disgraceful model. What I find truly repulsive is the exclusive, monopolistic contract Cady has with the school. Because of this deal, my daughter is EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN by school policy from taking and submitting her own high-quality photo for the yearbook. We are forced to use Cady's ridiculously overpriced service, whether we like it or not. There is no choice, no alternative.
And why does the school enforce such an anti-family policy? The answer is as cynical as it gets: they receive a substantial kickback from Cady's sales. The school is a willing partner in this scheme, profiting off its own students' families by locking them into this mandatory purchase. It's a clear conflict of interest and morally bankrupt.
Having raised my daughter and her brothers in Europe, I can say with certainty that we have NEVER experienced anything remotely like this. The idea that a school would ban students from using their own photos in order to force them into a single, outrageously expensive service for a kickback would be unthinkable. It would be considered a scandal. Here, apparently, it's just "the American way."
This isn't a business; it's a racket. Cady and its partner schools should be ashamed of themselves. Seeing they have a 1.5-star rating on this platform, I am clearly not alone in my outrage. Avoid if you can, and if you can't, know that you are being shamelessly fleeced.
My son took pictures at the Acworth
My son took pictures at the Acworth, Ga location. I called into the call-center location to pay for Graduation photos. They are telling me that I can’t purchase pictures without my son’s father permission because we do not have same last name. They have a law regarding this similar to HIPPA!
DO NOT PRE ORDER!!
DO NOT PRE ORDER!!! SCAM COMPANY!!
Pre purchased a small package for my student per the Cady instructions from school. After her digital image arrived we wanted to “add on” a change in background color. I contacted them same day the digital image arrived- I’m sure this is before the image was even sent to print.
Per customer service email, all sales are final and no cancellation or changes can be made once paid in full. This also means they won’t change the order or edit (add on) any content once the order is paid in full.
Looks like we won’t be preordering from Cady. What a scam! Terrible customer service and website, will be bringing forth concerns to school as well.
Company is a scam
The website was confusing (other parents have said the same.) It was difficult to determine what is essential and what is optional for senior pictures, so I signed up for several scenes. When I arrived, I was told it could take a couple of hours to complete all the scenes. I realized at that point that the scenes were not essential and wanted to only do the cap & gown and yearbook pictures. I asked to have my order changed before any pictures were taken, and they told me it was impossible to make that change or get a refund. After the shoot, I was told that CADY chooses the pictures they will print, not the parents or the student. I also found out that although I paid over $120, I would not be given any digital files or prints and that basically I paid for the sitting which I didn’t really want anyway. I was also told that if I am willing to pay $350, I will get to keep some of the pictures (of their choosing) but that there is no option to get less pictures for a smaller amount. Overall, I find this company to be a scam and will be letting others know of my experience. The only positive thing I can say is that the photographers were friendly.
They don’t answer calls, terrible service, scam, terrible photos
They don’t answer calls, when they do they are rude and literally lie about appointments and never know what they are talking about, they send you a portfolio without ordering it and then charge you 200 bucks if you don’t send it back, their photos suck, they are a scam and terrible people.
Horrible service
My son had his senior pictures done at his school with CADY, and the process was drawn out, but not particularly irritating. However, when I got his pictures to view online, I realized all kinds of issues. I paid for an upgraded session, which gave him more pictures/scenes/poses. The only "great" pictures were the black and white close ups. The rest of the pictures were awful, and his cap and gown pictures literally had his stole folded under on one side in EVERY picture. When I contacted CADY to see if anyone had decided to fix his stole in any picture, and asked if I could see the rest, they refused and told me I could make another appointment if I wanted. Granted, that appointment would be almost 2 hours away at their office even though their staff took ridiculous pictures. Then when you go to see the pictures and purchase...the CHEAPEST one is almost $200, with digitals being over $300. Each sheet was $50 a piece....that is ridiculous price gouging, especially considering I can purchase my underclass daughter's pictures for $30. Their customer service is extremely rude and could care less that you are upset with their shoddy work. I can't believe schools still use them.
Prices are outrageous for seniors
Prices are outrageous for seniors. I paid more than $60 for a photo session. I only wanted the digital files, no prints. If you want digital prints, you are forced to purchase a package. The lowest package they have (with no digitals) is $180! If I want digitals, I would need to spend $400 (and get prints I don't want). The pictures were okay, but I can take better ones myself (which is what I'll be doing). I lost more than $60 to this company just to get my son his senior portrait in the yearbook. I am very disappointed in Cady for their outrageous prices, and at the school for using them.
Rip off they have cornered the market
On picture day Hillgrove HS
On picture day, our grandson came home very disappointed in the process. The photographer didn't even take time to let him smile. His picture is a half smile. She didn't even let him know she was taking the picture. I would expect more from a professional photographer. Would not recommend and unfortunately you don't have a choice with school pics. Will also let the school know how bad it was.
Very very disappointed
Very very disappointed, no one answers the customer service line. Robot AI has 2in wait time. The booking process is brutally long and they hide at High School portrait session for seniors. Bad choice HS!
Pricing is not transparent
Pricing is not transparent! It was very difficult to find pricing information. I feel like it is deceptive and they take advantage of families.
I would give a zero if possible
I would give a zero if possible. Sent senior drape pics but will send cap and gown later??? Why? Very expensive. Picture were not even good quality.
Prices are insanely high
Prices are insanely high, the way the website is set up kinda tricks you in buying stuff you don't need in order to buy the picture that you actually want. They charge $7.99 SHIPPING for pictures! Called customer service to ask for a promo code, called lasted more than 20min all for saying they didn't have any promo code at this time. Total RIP-OFF. I hope my son's school changes this supplier!
If there was a 0 star
If there was a 0 star, i would give that. I totally got scammed on this and I believe most , maybe all parents get duped into buying form this is because doing it for their kids. I hadnt seen it was a 1.3 rated. The pricing they gave me when i reached the studio was so confusing and all the person was trying to do was tell me in circles but not divulging the real price. So they send you a portfolio and expect you to come back in person and return or else they charge you $250. Now all said and done, as we all do, for our kid, we bite the bullet and buy the package, BUT the worst is that the photographs are so BAD that my 12yr old will click better photographs than this one. So AVOID them IF YOU CAN !! What i am surprised is How did the school allow to have a contract with them seeing their 1.3 rating ? Something not right.
Cady false advertisement
Hi, I am highly disappointed due to the fact CADY did not edit my daughter picture. Yes I PAID for the wrinkles to be taken out of the oversize drape that was placed on my daughter due to CADY not having a size small. The drape left a huge wrinkle down the center of the front drape causing her pictures to look like she has split breast instead of flat in the front. Its wrinkles at the shoulders of the drape. CADY did not provide great services and I had to pay out of my pockets to remove the wrinkles that could have been avoided if the proper size drape was used in the pictures. I was very specific about the wrinkles and hairline watermark needed to be remove which it was not. I had to go un select my daughter yearbook picture because the issue has not been resolved.
Here's the deal
Here's the deal. The pictures are great and we purchased the elite package as I wanted to have my daughter's hair and makeup done. It was not unreasonably priced. What was unreasonable was the price of the photos. They won't sell individual digital images so you have to buy them ALL if you want them. The price of all the digital images is $1799.99 plus tax. So be aware.
Customer Experience Feedback
Customer Experience Feedback
Our experience with Cady was overwhelmingly negative, turning what should have been a memorable milestone for my child into a traumatic and disappointing event.
Lack of Communication and Accommodations
First and foremost, the lack of communication and willingness to accommodate our family's needs was unacceptable. As a split-parent household, we were never given the option or the information necessary for both parents to have a separate photo session or purchasing opportunity. The most critical failure in communication, however, was not informing us that we would be required to purchase photos at the time of the session, and that any unpurchased images would be destroyed. This policy was never disclosed at any point during the scheduling process or prior to the photo session itself.
After discovering this, I immediately requested to speak with a manager, hoping for a solution. Unfortunately, the manager was unwilling to make any accommodations. We even offered to pay for a second viewing session so that my child’s other parent could select their own photos, but this request was denied. This refusal to work with us, even when we offered a solution that would generate additional revenue for Cady, felt punitive and unnecessarily rigid, and it left us with a feeling of being held hostage by the company.
Unfair Pricing and Lack of Transparency
Secondly, the pricing structure is both unreasonable and completely lacking in transparency. The costs were not disclosed until after the photo session had already taken place, leaving us feeling pressured and taken advantage of. The lowest point of entry for a product was an astounding $179 for just two photos. The cost of a USB flash drive with all the images was an exorbitant $799. These prices are not only inappropriate for senior photos but were deliberately withheld until it was too late for us to make an informed decision. The pricing should be clearly and prominently shared with clients before any services are rendered. It's ridiculous that my child's senior photos cost more than my own wedding photos.
In the end, I feel that Cady's practices are predatory. The company deliberately creates a situation where parents are emotionally invested after the photos are taken and then leverages that emotion to force them into purchasing overpriced products under a tight deadline, all while holding the child’s memories for ransom.
I will not recommend Cady to anyone and will actively share my experience with other parents to encourage them to seek a transparent and fairly priced photographer.
