Unethical Behaviour
The NHS sent carers to my mother three times a day after a fall. She never knows when they are coming and they are never the same people. What is worse however is they sent a supervisor to ask my mother questions whilst she filled in a form. My mother is partially sighted and so the supervisor filled the form as my mother answered the questions. Some of the questions were very personal: "have you made a will" "what are your wishes after your death" none of which is any business of Caremark. My mother declined to answer these and some of the other questions but when she was asked to sign the form these questions hadn't been struck through they had been left blank. She asked the supervisor to strike through the unanswered questions before she signed but the supervisor pressured her into signing without doing this, saying that she would fill the form in later. This is completely unethical. Anything could have been written on the form that had already blankly been signed by my mother. Preying on the elderly in such a way when you are supposed to be the very carers looking after them is not acceptable. Caremark is a business and were they to have an ounce of professionalism they should take this incident VERY seriously.

Horrific company
Horrific company , they were supposed to look after my mum with morning and evening visits , carers stayed on some occasions for only 5 mins of a 45 min allocated visit , if you want your loved ones looked after steer clear from Caremark in Worthing , currently going through several complaints about them with West Sussex county council

The clue is in the word "care"
Caremark Twtm looked after our mums needs up to 20/5/25 for a few years. They looked after her after her dementia diagnosis. Every member of the team, both the carers and the managers pulled their weight to make this stage in mums life as comfortable as possible. Their care ranged from her daily care to liasing with hospitals and GPs and keeping us in the loop. No complaints. Quite the opposite. A very conscientious group of people all round.
Great company to work for
Great company to work for. Very supportive and the work is enjoyable.
Couldn’t even turn up
Couldn’t even turn up! Used them for less than a week due to shear incompetence.
Started couldn’t find the house, then going at 8:30pm for what should have been 5pm visit. Proceeding to scare my grandmother, not even an apology. More concerned about we got the local managers mobile than the lack of care they were providing. Emailed and now told they won’t speak to me as I was never the one who arranged them. Totally useless. Wouldn’t trust to look after a goldfish let alone another human.
This is my honest opinion from start to…
This is my honest opinion from start to finish.
I want to make people aware of my mum’s experience with this care service. Unfortunately, it was a nightmare from beginning to end. The way the care coordinator, care coordinator , treated my mum was absolutely appalling. She lacks professionalism, patience, and basic manners. When working with vulnerable people, compassion and communication are essential — and sadly, this was not shown.
Care coordinator made an agreement with my mum that she could pay her direct payments monthly, but once my mum was locked into the contract, she suddenly changed it to weekly payments. My mum asked several times for the written agreement to confirm monthly payments, but it was never sent. This felt misleading and unfair, especially as my mum is disabled, not working, and lives on limited income.
The care itself was very poor. Many of the carers who attended had little experience, communication was extremely difficult, and some were rude and disrespectful. One carer broke my mum’s window and never apologised. Another repeatedly refused to give my mum her morning personal care, saying she “doesn’t get paid overtime.” That is completely unprofessional and takes away a person’s dignity.
On another occasion, a carer put a whole toilet roll down the toilet, almost blocking it — again, showing a lack of basic common sense or care. When we raised these issues with the coordinator, her response was always defensive. Instead of addressing the problems, she blamed my mum, saying the issue was that she was “going overtime.” My mum is disabled and needs full support — overtime is not something she can control.
This agency has shown a complete lack of accountability, empathy, and professionalism. They seem more focused on money than the wellbeing of their clients. The management fails to take responsibility, often siding with carers regardless of their conduct, and hires people who cannot communicate effectively in English.
Overall, this was the worst care experience we’ve ever had. I strongly advise anyone considering using Caremark Hammersmith & Fulham to think twice. Vulnerable people deserve kindness, patience, and quality care — none of which were shown here.
Not recommended
I was given the contact details of this company by a reputable respite care centre in relation to the care of an elderly member of my family. I called them twice and left two messages with a woman from their office who, on both occasions, promised to ask her manager to return my calls but, after over a week, I still have not heard from the manager. The first time I called, the woman told me her manager was very busy and would call me back. Having not heard from them for a few days, I called again and the same woman said she was going to call me to give me an update and that she was going to remind her manager to call me. It’s been over a week now, and I still haven’t heard from the manager. This is not a good sign and a good start.
I have had Care provided in my home…
I have had Care provided in my home from Caremark Bristol for past 4 years. They have some excellent carers especially Ella who has been my main carer and is excellent. She really is compassionate, caring and gets to know your needs really well. I would also recommend Hilary and Tracey who are great carers. They have a lot of new staff that still require a lot of training and learning to understand clients needs. They provide weekly timetables which is really helpful.
The bullying and ill treatment of…
The bullying and ill treatment of carers is ongoing and rampant. There is inherent abuse of carers in the form of , daily harassment, victimisation, bullying by restricting hours to keep the carers in perpetual poverty, systematic underpayments including mileage claims, threats of safeguarding staff for matters beyond staff control, flouting immigration/home office rules when recruiting immigrant personnel, fraudulent claims, including mileage expenses from local authorities, at the expense of carers. The list is endless. These complaints are from across the franchises, however, there are specific franchisees that we are monitoring, collating and authenticating the complaints so as so submit tangible evidence to the relevant bodies.

The carers don't wash my mum and the toilet needs when you get them .they put a black sling onto the toilet that's the one to sit in and they but her on the commode and pulled it under neither her .they should know the blue sling is for the toilet use. They also use tried to break into the shed for no reason . Going upstairs to route .they pulled the plaster of my mums back they should not do that .they don't even wash her at all a bed wash . They not trained in the right way .only one person to use the hoist it supposed to be two people .only one person said I can do this it's a health and safety issues.they are breaking protocol and data protection to from district nurses passing pictures to them with out my mum's consent .the nappies is soaking wet they don't care are about people .also they put dirty cloths on the radiators .we have phoned the office up and they don't care .so we had enough they not listening to us . It all comes down to money you have .if your on social paying they don't give a shit.

After my brothers wife passed away he…
After my brothers wife passed away he went into a care home but his one wish was to go back to his home to see if he could cope. He was offered 24 hour care with a live in carer. A carer turned up at the care home to see him unannounced no one knew who she was, not very professional. The social worker took him home and left him bearing in mind he’s 90 partially sighted and deaf. The next morning he had his usual boiled eggs for breakfast for lunch he was offered boiled eggs toast or cornflakes for evening meal he was offered cream crackers. The carer didn’t know what a potato was or how to cook it. After two days he wanted to go back to the care home but they said he had to honour his one months contract. When he had a visitor the carer stayed in the same room cross legged watching an Indian film. He ended up in hospital with a bladder infection where he stayed for a week then went back to care home. He had lost 12 kilo in weight as a man that never carried much weight the loss was dramatic. He has since passed away.

Caremark basingstoke cared for my mother in an emergency situation whilst my dad who is her full time carer was hospitalised due to ill health. The care package was arranged the same day as our enquiry and the care was immediate. The whole team were amazing and I had no concerns that my mother was well cared for everyone went above and beyond. I would highly recommend the team to care for you loved ones. Excellent value for money

Caremark Cheshire east what an…
Caremark Cheshire east what an absolutely disgusting company . Especially the owner. They were given the care plan from the council which advised no care provided on a Monday for my elderly grandmother . They also met with us in person and it was noted that we did not need carers on a Monday and was also advised we would receive a care plan within48 hours and 7 weeks later it has not been received .
We have just received a call off the so called owner of the company who has advised he is absolute “flabbergasted “ that we have kept letting carers in on a Monday keep in mind they were provided a code for a key box to let themself in as the person they are caring for has dementia and doesn’t know what day of the week it is . We are currently on holiday as it’s the only break away we get a year . The owner has spoke over us and shouted and called us a liar . And told us this was not working and hung up the phone . We are now abroad and concerned no carer is going to turn up for a lady with dementia . I have rang the council who have advised they will be in breach of contract if they do not arrive and the fault is at their end . I will be making a complaint to the ombudsman about this . Stay well clear
Most carers don't listen
Three or four of the carers are excellent. Most of them are not and some are absolutely useless. We are also starting a formal complaint about one of the carers who claims that my 96 year old, very polite and fully "with it" mother said the carer was a prostitute or lewd because she had tattoos. My mother would never say this, though she doesn't like tattoos on anyone. She actually liked the carer who thought she'd said this. The carer reported it to the office and the office decided to stop supporting my mother. The carers also complained that they were not allowed to clean the kitchen. This is because every time they have done so they have thrown things away that were not recycling or rubbish, they have put rubbish in the recycling bin, they have washed dishes that are still dirty after they have washed them (& in any case we have a dishwasher which had been running our waiting for me to empty it when the carers have been here. Today they have thrown away several purchased freezer boxes that were drying on the draining board and they were not told to do anything in the kitchen just to empty a box of papers that was in mum's room. They are meant to reduce my stress by helping with mum but instead have made my life a lot worse. They do not listen when mum tells them what to do or how to do it and she is a retired doctor. She knows far more about care and hygiene than the carers ever will. They have given mum her granola in a pasta bowl ignoring the notice on the cupboard door that the bowls in that cupboard are large and not for breakfast. They have given her a tablespoon (from the drawer clearly labelled "utensils") to eat her breakfast when there were plenty of dessert spoons in the drawer (clearly labelled "cutlery"), even after a large notice saying "do not use this drawer" was put on the utensils drawer. They have also rinsed the commode bucket in the kitchen sink. They have sent carers at 830pm when her call is down on the rota for 9:40pm and we have told them we will not pay if they send someone before 9pm.
I informed them that, while my mother was in hospital a rat got into the house but the council pest control department were dealing with it. I didn't need to tell them because there was no chance of them ever seeing it but it appears that several of the carers have a phobia of being anywhere near where a rat has been, even though no one is ever less than 3 ft from a rat. As far as we know the rat is no longer in the house nor able to get in.
Worst company to work for
Worst company to work for , ( Cheltenham & Gloucester) dismissed me having appointments for cancer scare !!!!
Still affected by the short experience…
Still affected by the short experience of employment I had with Caremark Bristol. This was a few years ago. The franchise owners operate, frankly, in a way of complete lunacy. I am convinced they are not mentally sound to run a franchise that revolves around the care and support of vulnerable people, or people at all. On day two of the job, the office manager went for lunch and never came back, yes really, she quit! Another staff member was expected to be on call for an entire week while her elderly parents were both in hospital on ventilators suffering from covid-19. Staff were in tears daily, franchise owners spoke to them like utter dirt. I was verbally reprimanded for not responding to harassing WhatsApp messages out of my working hours about work related tasks, before being fired on a whim of one of the franchise owners one day, after I declined to work a day off (literally refused to give a reason for firing me and stared at me until I left the room, knowing full well I had relocated for the role). Staff on the field didn't stand a chance, and poor practices were going unnoticed, uncorrected and without further training offered. I still think back and shudder at the experience I had. In ten years in the sector I have never come across individuals like the franchise owners, and that's not complimentary. These people ARE STILL RUNNING THE FRANCHISE - and appear to have given themselves 5 star ratings on google reviews - crazy.
