Awful service ! My daughter and her friends were treated with complete disrespect from the moment they walked in. Their requests were ignored, the consultation was careless, and the stylist clearly lacked basic skill and professionalism.
The haircut was badly done, uneven, and nothing like what was asked for. It looked rushed and amateur, as if no training or attention had been applied at all. When concerns were raised, the staff were dismissive, defensive, and showed no interest in fixing their mistakes.
This salon delivers a disgraceful level of service. Unprofessional, incompetent, and utterly unacceptable, especially when dealing with young clients. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

first of all the pricing are there to pull you in then you read the fine print and everything is actually a lot more expensive than it seems. I wanted highlights that were advertised as £60 turned into £120 because apparently it wouldn’t show up on my hair. I paid the money, but had to go get cash out as they only accept cash which is very dodgy. The job was good but faded after literally a few washes. Can’t see it at all anymore it was only a few weeks ago. Guy who did my hair was EXTREMELY rough and it really hurt. He was brushing my wet hair with a tiny comb. The girl next to me complained because he highlights looked blue. They told her it didn’t look blue at all - it looked so blue I felt very bad for her. Overall avoid this dodgy place.

Terrible experience. I believe that the guy who butchered my hair may not have received professional training. I complained to the company and I heard nothing back. Terrible service terrible atmosphere and terrible ‘professionals’.

My wife lost her hair through cancer but it regrew after extensive chemotherapy. She went to Cellys in Portsmouth for a trim but it was a disaster. Uneven, straggly, embarrassing.

She was still unwell and couldn't hang around at the time but went back later to complain.

The staff were unhelpful, showed no sympathy, refused to give any kind of refund.

Customer service was appalling, almost non-existent.
They seem to use amateurs to make money.

A sales professional would welcome complaints because they tell vendors how to improve. But not Cellys who have lost a family or potential customers forever.

I went into cellys and asked for some layers. My layers aren’t even and one side is shorter than the other and the layers aren’t even blended in. I wouldn’t recommend.

Sharmila did my hair before Xmas and I go there every month and I have never been disappointed. I like to have multi coloured hair and this time it had the wow factor. Sharmila is always really helpful and nothing is too much trouble for her. Keep up the good work.

I have been going to Cellys for a number of years and although more than once the hairdresser has cut it a bit shorter than I wanted, I have never left feeling so very upset and so very angry as I did this week in Hastings when Tina totally ignored what I asked her to do. I explained how much I wanted taken off the back, leaving the front and sides as they were. It had taken me many months to get it to the length I was happy with and just needed a bit off the back. She cut it all off! She insisted on cutting the sides as well. She was going to do what she wanted and I was pretty much told that she wanted people to see what a great cut I got from her at Cellys. In other words, she knew better than me what I needed. I am so upset. So angry. I will never go back there.

Went to cellys Horsham was a young girl was maybe a trainee ? I wasn't told but she attempted to put layers at the front of my long hair , obviously didn't know how to do it as she said I'll just cut the ends so they turn in , I said no I want face framing layers , anyway attempted it cut a big chunk off my hair then walked away , owner had to try and fix up
Didn't do a great job had to get it fixed up else where , shame everyone seemed experienced and my Freind had had a good experience earlier I would suggest the girl needs a bit more training if dosnt know how to do face framing layers .

When for my first trim after my hair, grew back after chemo. It was the length, I wanted it, just touching my shoulders. She couldn't hear what I wanted, what with the radio playing so loud! I should of got out while I could! She didn't listen to me at all. I look like a Baison, was put on my head, so short I am so depressed.

I had an extremely talented hairdresser called Marta in Exeter. Marta goes out of her way to look after her clients and she is a perfectionist.

Walked in today all staff very pleasant and welcoming considering busy and the hot weather. Got a cut by Mia as always done amazing job friendly and professional recommended!!

I've been going to Cellys for my hair cut and colour for well over 8 years. All the ladies are so friendly, do my colour perfect and also I love the option of a walk-in dry cut as I have a short, blunt bob meaning I do get my hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks! Would never go anywhere else, highly recommend!

Walked into Cellys today requested a restyle hardly anything cut off then it was blow dried to make it look like she had done something with it once I had brushed it out it was the same length with no style very expensive for what they done so won’t be going back

Yesterday Saturday 9th of August 2025, I went to Cellys to have my hair done, and once again I had a wonderful experience. Although they were short of staff, due to the holidays period. The staff, who were multitasking attended me prontly.
Teresa Maria Veronica looked after of my messy, thick, greish and dry hair, leaving it smooth, moist, looking healthy with a lovely color and cut. Thank you Teresa for you professionalism, I am very pleased with your work.

I popped into Cellys the other day with an inspiration picture on my phone. I wanted a haircut to suit my face shape but also wanted it to be practical for me. ( i have wavy, thick and dense hair, can get very frizzy in the heat and humidity).
I showed my inspiration to Sam. He straightforward told me that won't suit my face. First I was taken aback. I even thought for a second that he is rude. Thankfully I trusted the process.
Once he examined my hair. Listened to me what I expected from the hair cut, then very professionally told me why the inspiration I had won't suit me. He also discussed what would be a better style.
In the end, I am thankful that I trusted his judgement, knowledge and professionalism. I liked how he was transparent with me and helped me make a better choice.

Had my hair cut and highlighted in Cellys Taunton by the outstanding Cherene. She is highly professional, lovely to chat to and always does an amazing job . There is usually a wait for her and she is worth every waiting minute. I would give her 6 stars but it only goes to 5! Highly recommended.

I asked for a trim, saying I only wanted the split ends removed. This was in Bexlyheath. My hair is now shorter than it's ever been. I hate what she did to my hair. Definitely not what I asked for. I will go elsewhere in future.
