Claire Austin Hardy Plants is a specialist mail order plant nursery that's built it's reputation on supplying quality hardy perennials. The range spans everything from classic cottage garden favourites to more unusual specimens and includes hundreds of different varieties carefully selected for their garden performance. Decades of hands-on growing experience, propagating, trialing, testing and tending to plants has resulted in the knowledge that every plant we offer is worthy of it's place in the garden. We hold Plant Heritage National Collections of hybrid herbaceous peonies and bearded irises and have received numerous medals and awards at shows including gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The National Collections include hundreds of irises and peonies, including unusual varieties not commonly found in local garden centers or at other nurseries. Our careful, effective and secure delivery packaging using recyclable materials ensures the plants arrive in excellent condition and will thrive after planting. Initially I tried to order on line…
Initially I tried to order on line where I had to use Link for my payment, but it did not work properly, which was annoying. I then had to make several phone calls to get through to the sales office, where I eventually did get through and the person I delt with was absolutely charming and efficient. The plants arrived very promptly and in very good condition.

Great Support
Everything relating to my order, its dispatch and delivery was as promised and honoured. The only problem was that the delivery agent failed to follow the instructions on the package; this resulted in some items being damaged.
Having contacted the Claire Austin team the problem was resolved with the utmost expediency and to my entire satisfaction.
Not the first time I have used the company and certainly won’t be the last.
Highly recommended.

The web site is easy to navigate and has good pictures & useful information about what conditions various plants need.

Excellent quality plants, quick delivery, very well packaged
Always tentative to purchase plants online but this nursery offered plants I was unable to source locally. The plants arrived promptly and well packed (no damage in transit) - small but very healthy plants (as stated on the website) - all planted up and doing well. Would certainly purchase from Claire Austin again!
