Claire Austin Hardy Plants is a specialist mail order plant nursery that's built it's reputation on supplying quality hardy perennials. The range spans everything from classic cottage garden favourites to more unusual specimens and includes hundreds of different varieties carefully selected for their garden performance. Decades of hands-on growing experience, propagating, trialing, testing and tending to plants has resulted in the knowledge that every plant we offer is worthy of it's place in the garden. We hold Plant Heritage National Collections of hybrid herbaceous peonies and bearded irises and have received numerous medals and awards at shows including gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The National Collections include hundreds of irises and peonies, including unusual varieties not commonly found in local garden centers or at other nurseries. Our careful, effective and secure delivery packaging using recyclable materials ensures the plants arrive in excellent condition and will thrive after planting. Plant Perfection Found! (Claire Austin, You Rock!)
Fellow plant enthusiasts! Embarking on a "Modern Perennial/Plant Communities" project? Yeah, me too! My winter was a deep dive into plant suppliers, and let me tell you, Clair Austin Hardy Plants were a breath of fresh, well-categorised air.
Their website is a dream – gorgeous photos, genuinely helpful descriptions and advice. It made the whole research process actually enjoyable! Ordering was a breeze and felt totally secure.
Over the past month, my house has become a temporary plant sanctuary thanks to four fantastic deliveries. My phone kept me updated every step of the way, and the packaging? Seriously impressive – my plants arrived looking like they'd just enjoyed a first-class flight. Plus, they use lots of recycled materials – win-win!
And the plants? Oh. My. Goodness. Top quality, healthy, and just waiting to explode with life in my garden. I'm practically giddy to get them planted this week.

We would have replied earlier but we had to interrogate each team member and scan their bank account for suspicious cash transactions to ensure it wasn't a paid endorsement or team member induced review.

Glad the plants arrived safely. The plastic packaging is made from recycled materials and is recyclable again and a large percentage of our pots are taupe coloured so can be identified by machine for recycling. We do still have many black pots as we re use them until such time as they need replacing which is then done with taupe pots. Thanks for your order and we're glad the plants look good.

Excellent plant quality.
I have now purchased two sets of three plants from Claire, and they have always arrived in excellent condition, even if the carrier has turned the box the wrong way up. All the plants have taken in the ground one of the sets were put in during the winter and they have new shoots this spring.

Healthy thriving plants by post
I ordered 4 sedum plants and they arrived a week later very securely packaged in individual plastic coccoons which protected them extremely well from the rigours of postal delivery. They were all in very good condition, healthy and hydrated and ready to plant out for life's journey. It is a pleasure to receive plants by post that are as good if not better than ones purchased at a garden centre.

Excellent plants
I bought 3 Alchemilla plants from Claire Austin as they offered a different variety from the more common “Mollis” variety and also the delivery charge was not too expensive unlike some other nurseries. When the plants arrived they were in excellent condition and well watered. They were really well packaged in order to protect the plants and I am pleased to say that I’ve thoroughly satisfied.

Great range of perennials in stock in 9cm pots
Stumbled on the site via a blog post when i was googling questions about perennials and was so glad i found it. Claire Austin had in stock in one place all the perennials I wanted, all in 9cm pots that I wanted, which makes it really good value, website was simple to use, delivery came in the time frame given, the plants look healthy, looking forward to planting them this weekend!
