Easy booking system communication excellent would recommend classic cottages

Beautifully appointed property. Comfortable and spacious, a short drive to beaches, shops etc. local shop a 5 minute walk away, and pub that sells food. Ideal for family holidays or bunch of friends getting together. Highly recommend.

Have used several times now - always easy to book, everything is very clear on website , and plenty of info available .
Good communication at all times

I have rented from Classic some 18 or 19 times over 7 years and always found their properties to be of a consistently high standard, and some of the very best rentals available in the respective areas around the UK. What prompts this 5 Star review, however, is how the Company handled my first ever negative response to a rental.

The exact details are not important, but as can happen with any rental, one or two small things were not quite right and then these compounded to make the holiday less enjoyable than I had come to expect from Classic. On raising the matter with Classic they just could not have been more helpful. They apologised, explained how what I was complaining about had come to happen, decided to initiate a thorough review of the property and offered some minor but appropriate compensation (although this wasn't necessary in my opinion). All in all, it was a very warm and supportive experience - and one that totally reinforced my already exceptionally high regard for the Company. Well done Classic.

From my personal experience, you can really trust this Company, even when they very, very rarely get things wrong. Book with 100% confidence.

Being from the East of Scotland the Isle of Wight has not really appeared on our list of possible holiday destinations due to the distance. My brother in law recently turned 60 and my family and I were invited to join him and his family on a houseboat in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight called ‘Fortune’. The boat was just amazing! Where do I start, stunning views, beautiful location, delightfully decorated and quirky accommodation. The boat is like a tardis, very spacious with all 4 bedrooms being a more than ample size (the main bedroom is a sight to behold with its shape, size and decor) with large beds and the comfiest of mattresses. There is an upstairs toilet and 3 other bathrooms offering 2 showers and a bath so no fighting over whose turn it is for the shower. 8 adults were onboard Fortune for the majority of our week and at no time did we feel cramped or that the boat was over inhabited. We cooked comfortably in the delightful kitchen most nights and ate at the outside table (the views are idyllic) or the dining room table with both seating 8 adults without any problem whatsoever. I would thoroughly recommend this houseboat without hesitation and to any fellow Scots who are reading this, the journey is very doable. We flew to Heathrow. picked up a car and drove for 1 1/2 hours to Portsmouth to get the car ferry or you can fly to Southampton and get the ferry from there. My family and I will certainly return to the Isle of Wight and would love to book Fortune, a home from home on our return trip. Thank you!

We have used Classic Cottages three times now and found them to be really helpful. They give good descriptions of their properties and seem to choose properties of a good standard. We would happily use them again.

Had no problem at all using Classic Cottages. It was straightforward and the venue that we used was beautiful and as described.

We have used Classic Cottages since 2006. We have booked with them 11 times so it’s fair to say I have been happy in the past. I think the problem this time lays with both the owner and Classic Cottages but both will happily take your money with neither taking responsibility. We stayed in The Old Dairy in Gorran Haven for the 4th time in July 24 with both our dogs. Our 2 week stay cost £1696.00
On arrival at 4pm our cottage was still not ready the cleaners were blocking the driveway so we had nowhere to park. One of our dogs had become very unwell and we needed immediate access to the property. The property should have been ready. We should not have walked in on the cleaners and it was not a positive start to our holiday. As this was our 4th stay in the cottage we have noticed the door which is the only fire exit still had a faulty lock as it did the year before. This is a health & safety issue. We have seen a decline in the property over the 4 years and it is in need of some redecoration and replacement of simply cheap things like the shower curtain, bath mat, provide wine glasses, clean unstained tea towels, unchewed furniture, marked mugs and plates which have been the same for 4 years! The toaster and kettle are cheap and do not match. The cleaner did not put the bins out for 3 weeks, they had the week before stay in them then ours for 2 weeks. I expect a premium cottage for a premium price paid. It’s all the little things which start to annoy as even the old TV and DVD player were not fit for purpose. When I go on holiday I expect the same level of facilities I have at home. We booked this cottage for the 4th time because we love Gorran Haven but both myself and husband both agreed this would be our last stay. One of the main issues which we were not informed about at the time of booking was a new build project that was in progress next door to our holiday cottage. We are talking scaffolding inches away from the The Old Dairy boundary you could actually touch the scaffolding. We were informed a long time after booking by which time it was too late to find another suitable property in Gorran as people book a year in advance in this popular location. We had to sit in the outside area with our dying dog for a week while we could see workmen and they could see us. This was was intrusive and we had no privacy. We live in a semi rural area with beautiful countryside views but paid almost £1700 to look at workmen and scaffolding!! This turned out to be the worst holiday we have ever experienced as our beloved dog passed away in the first week of our holiday and we were unable to leave the property as she was so ill. We left part way through the 2nd week. We had a fly and ant infestation which I reported to the housekeeper before 6pm she didn’t get back to us until late the next morning by which time we had tried to fix the issue. We were left 2 bath towels for a 2 week stay these were not replaced. The bedding we changed ourselves as the housekeeper turned up unexpectedly to do this at a unsuitable time. On returning home I kindly filled out the feedback email and this has now resulted in us being banned from any further bookings as the owner feels we are ‘not the right fit for the property’ which really means they were annoyed we left both positive and negative feedback which they aren’t willing to take on board. But were happy to take our money for 4 years. Classic Cottages have made us so angry and I have wrote to the director and received no reply. The common complaint is when things go wrong Classic Cottages do not want to know they are a middle man and are more concerned with keeping the owners happy and not the customers. Either way they get their fee and then ban you. We supported this company from humble beginnings since 2006 on our first booking but it’s clear they do not value our custom. Will be taking our business to one of the other hundreds of other holiday companies in Cornwall next year.

Great website, great host

We had a fantastic experience with Classic Cottages for their space The Loft in Mithian Cornwall. The refurbished barn was fitted out with the most high quality fixtures and fittings I’ve ever had in a holiday home and it made a huge different. Things like a TV that worked and connected easily for the children and high quality warm showers. That along with lovely fresh and crisp quality bedlinen and fluffy towels made us feel truly spoilt. A washing machine that wasn’t the cheapest brand on the market made such a different when you have two active boys. Such a help. We had a fantastic holiday and enjoyed the cottage hugely. So quiet at night and such a brilliant place to walk from and for day trips out to all our favourite places. We have been coming to St Agnes and surrounds for over a decade almost every year and this cottage has been one of the best we’ve stayed in. Thank you!!!

Gorgeous cottge in a beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful, the perfect place to relax.

Dannett House is a wonderful location for a family holiday. The house can be split into two independent living spaces or opened up into one very large property. The grounds are designed with children of all ages in mind. Easy location to get out and about in Cornwall. The hosts are considerate and thoughtful people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend this lovely property.

Beautiful house, very comfortable and well equipped. Just a short walk to the beach which was great for the grandchildren. A very good base for exploring the island.

Excellent holiday home for families or couples. The environment is excellent, the views are absolutely stunning.
The cottage was cosy, comfortable and well equipped.
Location is good for exploring the west coast and so many great beaches close by.
Our 2a year old, 6 year old and our dog was very at home.
