Have to pay a cancellation fee
Have to pay a cancellation fee because I passed my driving test 2 weeks before the insurance ends and they didn't send me a year no claims until a week after I got insured on a full license.

Absolutely rubbish insurance provider
Absolutely rubbish insurance provider , stay away from them . Once you pass your test , they will try to rip you off from money , ( after 1.5 months they asked me to pay for half of year insurance ) . STAY AWAY FROM THEM . If you want to be safe

They scam you with cancellation fees when you pass your test, whereas leaving the policy to expire would cost you nothing. Avoid at all costs.

Don’t take out learners insurance via…
Don’t take out learners insurance via Collingwood. When you pass your test and cancel they charge a fortune with cancellation charge and pro rata annual charge, which if you are 17, you may not fully understand. May be reasonably priced when you take it out but it’s a massive con with hidden charges.. which they will argue were clear. Only had it for 2 months and cost so much. Told us not to pay the outstanding amount whilst our complaint was being reviewed but then demanded money. Paid this money and then they also deducted the same money the day after in error, without notification or permission from the bank holder and then advised it will take 2-5 days to refund. Steer clear!

This company is great because there are…
This company is great because there are honest with the product that they are providing, quick with the service when the customer needs them, they are always looking for the best deals for their customers not for their company, I was personally impressed and with one of this company’s staff (Sarah) she always tried to find the best service for the customer. She is very knowledgeable, quick, speaks clearly even with with some costumers who are the English is not their first language as me. So I’m grateful to have her in this company.

Absolutely appalled by Collingwood…
Absolutely appalled by Collingwood learner insurance. When you cancel (which you have to do by law when the driving test is passed) you are hit with huge costs. The policy was cancelled after 6 months and 6 days from the start date...and we "OWED" them money. I'll never use this company again.

Be warned!!!
Like many other people on here. Took out temp insurance for my son whilst learning to drive. Paid full premium upfront. Passed his test, informed them and they charged us £40 for cancelling. Even though the full amount was paid upfront, they still charge a £40 cancellation fee.
Be warned !!!!

Scam Clause
Bought my daughter's car insurance & paid in full for the year. Hidden in their terms & conditions is that you pay them £40 to cancel the policy or allow it to expire.
Disgusting hidden clause to catch people out. Will be making a complaint to The Financial Ombudsman.

Spoke to Nick on the phone, was so helpful and pleasant. Ran through everything with me and was as helpful as he possibly could've been and created a policy when no one else would insure me in an unusual situation.

If you pass the driving test and not to ask then, then will cancel your policy and block your account and your to check base on what term to cancel your policy and ask you ro paid £40.00. its very bad. they will want to direct debit form your saved card. be careful. They block my account, so I cannot check the terms and I talk to then via email, but they not tell me base on what terms! I request the charge detaidls, but they don't give me.
