Worst experience with banking in my life!!!!!! Started an account online, 4 times the scan didn’t work to verify ID with a message coming up that it is an error on their end NOT MINE!
Then the screen comes up with message to go to a bank to verify ID- there is no banks open on a Saturday.
I call the helpline. No one to speak to and the robot has now cut me off 5 times and ended the call without a shred of assistance!
I will be cancelling and going elsewhere! What a joke

Commonwealth Bank has built a system that traps customers in loops until they give up.
I disputed an unauthorised $90 charge on 31 March. The overseas merchant had already cancelled it on their side (or so they said), and Commbank told me the money “never left my account” (transaction was pending) and that everything was resolved.
9 days later, the bank still took the $90 out of my account!!
The moment you mark a transaction as “unauthorised” in their app, it forces an automatic card cancellation. There is no option to continue without losing your card. So my card was cancelled instantly, and I’ve now been 9 days without a replacement.
During those 9 days, my money was blocked and today sent to the overseas merchant!!!
Most infuriating part? You cannot talk to anyone at their end! Their call centre puts you on hold for ages (I was 20 min on hold and still nobody to talk to). Their chat never connects you to a human. It loops you through the same dead‑end options. Their feedback form cuts you off! Every channel pushes you back into the same automated system with no accountability.
This isn’t customer service — it’s exhaustion by design.
Been with them for 13 years, time to close all my accounts and take my savings to a smaller bank

I had a highly disappointing experience with Commonwealth Bank's customer service. The claim resolution process was ineffective and did not address my concerns, which left me frustrated and dissatisfied. The overall level of professionalism I encountered was lacking, and I felt that my issues were not taken seriously or resolved in a timely manner.
Given this experience, I have decided to switch to a different bank that offers better customer support and more reliable service. I hope Commonwealth Bank takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality of its customer care and claim handling.
Useless bank. Avoid at all cost
Can’t change address, can’t link youthsaver to adult account, log in to Netbank won’t work because you need to log in to fix the issue of not being able to log in. Seriously?? Terrible bank. By far the worst!

There's protocols set up for people with disabilities and people suffering domestic violence both state federal and covered in the human rights act globally...the commonwealth do not adhere to any of them

The commonwealth bank is completely stuffed now. What the devil are they thinking? They clearly don't care about customers anymore. Every system seems to be experiencing problems, even when you try to make a complaint or send feedback, "there's a problem at our end". You got that right! Commonwealth bank is almost at the point you can't use them anymore. So many problems, so many questions, no trust in long standing customers, it is a complete joke. I bet they still report record profits though of course.
Blunderous bank Commonwealth
Commonwealth Bank's handling of my account. They have suddenly blocked access to my funds without any prior notice, leaving me stranded in Vietnam with no financial means. Despite multiple attempts to contact their customer service, I have been unable to reach anyone or get any clarification on the issue. This lack of support and communication has caused me significant distress and inconvenience. I urge Commonwealth Bank to prioritize customer assistance and ensure their clients’ funds are accessible at all times.

This is an appreciation of the service provided by the home loan department of the Commonwealth Bank, Point Cook, Victoria branch. Staff at the department were very friendly. Special mention must be made about Ms.Mridula Kukkar, Home Lending Executive, Retail Banking Services. Her customer service skills were excellent. Ms.Kukkar treated us with respect from the moment we walked into her cubicle. She patiently listened to our needs and explained in simple terms the various mortgage options available making it easy for us to make decisions. She was easy to contact even during the house hunting process whenever we needed guidance. THANK YOU Ms.Kukkar! You made our entire journey of first home purchase a stress free one insofar as the bank loan was concerned.

For the third time in a week I waited for more than an hour to see someone in order to transact business that could not, according to the bank's software, be conducted online. Result: walked away for the third time.

I'm an overseas customer trying to close my account. Website states 24hr phone service but call cut before able to speak to someone. I had my account frozen for trying to transfer money to a coinspot crypto account. I was able to transfer $100 but when I tried to transfer 20k CB froze my account. When I got in touch with the CB they verified who I was but still didn't understand freeze my account until I anwser their 20 personal questions. Why are you buy crypto?why do you think it's a good investment? What crypto are you buying? Etc etc. When I refused to anwser the questions she said she not satisfied with my answers and would reopen account. This has nothing to do with security. It's my money i invest it the way I want! DO NOT BANK WITH COMMON WEALTH BANK! move your money out of their bank. Don't trust them.
