Have had a good experience so far. They’ve delivered on the things they commit to, and do a nice job of supporting members.

I was a member over a year ago and found them to be useless and unprofessional. Over a year on and despite repeated requests to be removed from their database, they still haven't complied.

I joined Connectd earlier this year to support my transition into board advisory, and I’ve been impressed thus far.

The onboarding was quick and straightforward, supported by a friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable team. The community felt welcoming from the start, and the advisor certification program was a valuable refresher on best practices that helped build my confidence.

One of the biggest benefits has been the quality of the network. I was paired with a highly experienced mentor in my field and region, and I’ve been struck by the caliber of advisors, operators, and founders on the platform. The mix of B2B and D2C companies across various industries creates opportunities to learn from different perspectives.

As a U.S.-based advisor, I've also found Connectd's international reach valuable. The platform provides visibility across both the U.S. and U.K. startup ecosystems, helping me expand my network and connect with founders I otherwise wouldn't have met. I have recently completed the Board Advisor programme with Connect'd and have found it useful in transitioning from an executive to a portfolio career. The main benefits from my perspective were (1) the training/webinars which put clear definition around terms such as board advisor/NED/fractional etc. which the industry uses interchangeably; (2) the chance to try out the role with a company and (3) the mentorship I received throughout the programme. I've had an excellent experience with Connectd as I transition into advisory work. They do a great job of helping experienced professionals translate their corporate and operational experience into something valuable for founders and startups.

What impressed me most is that they don't just match advisors with opportunities—they actively prepare advisors for the areas where startup environments differ from larger organizations. I've worked with Connectd for a little over a month now. My advisor is Emily, and she's fantastic.

Originally, we weren't ready to work with Connectd. Emily told us what we'd need to do, she booked and managed follow-up appointments for us, and when the time came, she was able to connect us to advisors who jumped on board within a week and started to transfer our business in ways that would have taken us months to do.

Definitely check Connectd out. They are a great company to have on your business venture. I've met Emily and James in person, and they are the same lovely people you e-meet online. In fact, they are better.

The title says it all, and I’m sure I’ll echo much of what’s already been said in the 1‑star reviews — but a few points are worth highlighting.
(For context: I signed up for the 2-year Transition to NED Programme.)

- Very aggressive sales tactics. This included outright lying, pressure to purchase through a company (don’t — you'll lose Consumer Rights Act protections), and a stream of spammy follow‑ups about “special prices” and “limited time only” offers.

- For those based in the UK - Their “terms” breach the Consumer Rights Act (CRA). If you ever see their terms before signing up — they’re buried on the website and often deliberately omitted during outreach — you’ll notice they don’t comply with the CRA. This is intentional. Their justification is nonsense; the CRA applies, and their behaviour should raise immediate red flags. Deception is baked into the model.

- Training content is AI‑generated slop — so generic it’s effectively useless. Much of it is either obvious or publicly available.

- Their definition of “startup” is absurdly broad, meaning effectively anything and everything qualifies. There is nil vetting.

- Forget what’s advertised. Once you have paid, engagement will drop to almost nothing. The only proactive outreach I received (aside from a poorly run advisor‑placement process) was an agent aggressively pushing me to introduce them to VCs/PE houses in my network — which I declined.

Although I eventually got my money back, Connectd repeatedly lied during the chargeback process in their attempts to block a refund. Thankfully, the banks (mine and their own) saw through this and forced the chargeback through.

Avoid. This is a business that preys on people navigating an increasingly uncertain employment landscape, selling snake oil while pretending to be your “mate”. They’re not.
