**COVID-19 Update 2/22/2021** Container Inventory and Pricing remains in a highly unstable environment. Our published pricing is based on our prime suppliers' inventory availability. Pricing and delivery times are subject to rapid changes based on market conditions. If your needs are critical to a specific timeline, please contact our support specialists in advance of placing an order. As of today, shipping container pricing has officially doubled in the last 120 days in some of our key markets, with rapid and unannounced price increases daily from our suppliers. This inconsistency is particularly problematic to our ability to project up to date pricing in our web-store, and the shortage of supply continues to cause delays on delivery lead times. ContainerDiscounts.com was built to be a marketplace for consumers to easily find and purchase containers online. Our platform is disruptive by design, and often not welcome by some of our competitors and suppliers. Our business model was developed to give some level of transparency and data to the consumer, to help make faster and more informative purchase decisions. Prior to this rapid change in market conditions we were executing that plan very effectively. The last 90 days has been challenging to manage supply and more importantly customer expectations. So what are we doing to correct some of these issues? - We have reduced our margins to help offset price increases. This includes setting markups at a flat rate versus pct% to better control consumer price increases. - In areas where stock is not available by our supply partners, we are offering referrals to local retailers that may have stock on hand. - We are verifying stock immediately after purchase, and presenting our consumers with available options if the exact stock is not available. - We are processing refunds as soon as funds are received from our merchant in the case of cancelled orders. We remain committed to the transparency Trustpilot offers our consumers. And while we have had some upsets over the last 90 days, we feel this platform remains the gold standard for reliable information from real customer experiences. Great condition and excellent customer service
The unit arrived in excellent condition. Well worth the premium for a one trip container. This particular unit had not one single ding or dent that I could find, paint in great condition, interior nicely finished with no scuffs or gouges. As an aside, Arielle was able to expedite delivery to a much sooner date than expected and Jose placed the unit exactly where we wanted it. Really well done guys!

The price was reasonable and the delivery was quick. However the container smells so bad we are unable to use it. When we called to find out how to get rid of the smell we were unable to talk to anyone and no one would call us back.

Really sorry to hear your container was not up to par. The feedback you've provided is critical to us learning about the experiences our customers have post delivery. And will hopefully allow us to improve our customer service techniques as we continue to grow our business model.
So what about your actual issues? Let's talk about the odor first. Over my 20 plus years selling containers, this problem has popped up occasionally. The cause as you can imagine is spillage of various things inside the container, that seeps into the wood floors. This is just a part of a Shipping Container's life moving cargo for sometimes 15+ years before it's retired and sold into our resale market. We have no standardized answer for how to cure this. We've personally had some success power spraying the floors and using aggressive cleaning agents to mitigate the odor...but this is honestly hit or miss. What has been a little more effective, after completing the cleaning, is to paint the interior container (including the floors). Both of these options ultimately are masking the odor and may not get rid of the odor entirely. The best option in our opinion is to replace the floor boards. This can be costly. And unfortunately, since our suppliers will not give us any credit toward a "bad odor" in the container, it s not part of the condition guarantee. We are however willing to explore some correction options with you to correct the issue.
Secondly lets address the poor customer service. We are 100% responsible for timely response to customer service requests, which did not occur in your case. Going forward, we'd prefer you email us at support@containerdiscounts.com for faster response (but thats' no excuse). Send us an email and I will make sure you get some help sorting out the bad odor issue the best we can.
