Cool Hog Avis 

I kept seeing Cool Hog Scratchings all over TikTok, so being from the Black Country I thought I'd make the trip and give them a try.

I bought a 500g bag for £16 and, after eating around half, I wasn't particularly impressed. They're not bad, but for what feels like a premium price, I expected a premium product. Personally, I prefer Black Country Snacks, which are also cheaper.

I completely understand they're a business with wages and running costs, but they're competing in a market with plenty of established alternatives. For me, the quality doesn't quite justify the premium price, and I do wonder how much the TikTok hype surrounding the brand contributes to that premium.

I also tried the £2 bacon-flavoured tester pot, which didn't taste very bacony to me, and a cookie which I found very dry with hardly any moisture to it.

Overall, they're worth trying for yourself, especially if you can't easily get good Black Country scratchings where you live. But being local and having plenty of alternatives, I personally wouldn't make the trip back.

No problem whatsoever from ordering to delivery, I ordered the maple and the garlic, both are superb, flavoured in my opinion perfectly,and the crunch is just right, not to hard as I'm getting on now 😂. Would highly recommend, Cheers team hog. Lewis 👍

Really like these pork scratching especially with the chilli flavour.

There is one drawback though for the jar order I placed......couldn't stop eating them 🤣🤣🤣.

They taste so good, the right amount of crunch

Purchase a 500g bag, small bit no descent size chunks. No the best favour light on the salt, 500g bag with 350g of small bit and 150g of dust.
Not worth the money, they need to go back to the drawing board and start again.
And all these bloody odd favours. Scratching have one favour original,
Oh! don't look at the ingredient list... a true scratching is Pork rind and salt.. no favouring and other chemicals .

Received two 500g bags of original, really disappointed, small pieces not particularly crunchy if anything a bit stale tasting. Even the dog left them !!

Mmm we love the pork scratchings & sweets .. we buy them regularly … everything is full of flavour & the jars are brilliant for recycling. The big jar of scratchings lasts my other half maybe 2 days … that’s because he works nights . Worth every £££

These are hands down some of the best pork scratchings I’ve had in years. The original flavour is spot on, with a great balance of seasoning, plenty of crunch, and just the right amount of crispy fat.

What really makes them special for me is the nostalgia. They instantly reminded me of the pork scratchings my grandad used to buy from our local butcher when I was a little kid. That proper old-fashioned flavour is hard to find these days, but Cool Hog has absolutely nailed it.

The 500g jar is fantastic value and keeps them fresh, though I have to admit it’s very difficult not to keep reaching for “just one more”! I’ll definitely be buying these again.

Nothing like black country pork scratchings at all. More like a cross between pork crunch and proper scratchings. The pieces are too small, no nice big bits, the rind is bubbly like a pork crunch. Disappointed.

The habanero scratching are absolutely amazing. I bought a kilo box and not one single hair in the packet fantastic.! I think it’s going to be a case of buying a taster tub for each flavor

Very tasty better than the rest and good quality

Delivery was quick, I have my favourite flavours i always buy, original, garlic and now black pepper. Tried the bacon although very nice but not quite on my favourite list. My preference though.

Easy ordering and quick delivery along with good communication. The product, I went for the original flavour, I am thoroughly enjoying eating them. They are well packaged and just the right texture, if that's the correct word, crunchy but not teeth shattering like some similar products on the market.

Been getting the original flavour know for around 2 years and we're excellent but unfortunately the last 2 orders have been very disappointing the second to last order i gave the benefit of doubt so ordered again and they aren't the same they have no colour to them like they used to and hardly any flavour except salty and kind of taste stale. And I've just put the last 2 500g bags in the bin they where that bad 👎

Definitely recommend to people a variety of flavours to try and easy to order online and the shop is well presented

Great communication, quick delivery and extremely tasty pork scratchings! I ordered the world cup bundle, which is 6 big bags. I went for 6 different flavours and have already got through the first bag of BBQ flavour, which were lush!

Have always enjoyed cool hog pork scratchings first and foremost, particularly the garlic and salt and vinegar flavoured ones.
On my last delivery I was sent a bag of garlic scratchings and it was a bag full of tiny pieces, I gave them the benefit of the doubt as like I say I’ve never had a problem before that.

This time on I’d opened a fresh bag and starting eating and chewed down on a huge bit of bone im saying like 3/4 cm2 bit of bone and have had to visit the dentist as it cracked abit of my tooth. I realise n the packaging it says it may contain bone fragments, this wasn’t a fragment it was more like a pigs full femur.

Having emailed them to tell them I wasn’t happy I just got told they may contain bone, and good luck at the dentist.
