We had several quotes for the work - panels and battery - which were similar in cost but all with different combinations of equipment. ECH seemed to suggest the most apt and efficient system so we went with their quote. We had to wait a couple of months as they're very busy but they came on the date planned and fitted the system which is up and running with no apparent problems. The installation is very neat and tidy and all rubbish cleared. We're very pleased and looking forward to many years of savings.

Quotation, installation and commissioning all went very smoothly and the technical support from Phill Keeler was excellent throughout.
Unprecedented demand for solar at this time lead to lengthy delays with MCS paperwork and warranty documentation, but Kiera Bird progressed everything perfectly.
Very satisfied with the installation and glad I went with a larger battery storage unit as this really offset costs during winter.

Ordering my Solar Panels through ECH couldn't have been anymore straightforward and I wouldn't look anywhere else for any of my future needs. Service was fantastic from start to finish with simple quoting, set-up reviewed and assessed really quickly and installation organised in advance and all completed to plan.

Our second installation an upgrade on panels and battery, the team turned up on time and completed the job within the day, left all neat and tidy with a clear comprehensive handover. ECH are a delight to deal with and i have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. The cost seems very competitive compared to the ads that FB floods me with as well.

Ech are the people to buy Solar from. They are clearly very knowledgeable in the field and have an excellent team behind them both from a management perspective, as well the office support teams. I experienced the field team today and they were amazing. All very hard working and down to earth guys. Ryan and his colleague did a great job re the roofing works and Aaron and Gary the Electricians we’re brilliant in every aspect. They worked late and ensured everything was to my satisfaction and even set up the app account etc. They were very competitive price wise and the communications via email and phone was excellent. Well done and keep up the hard work.

I initially looked into ECH Group in the Autumn and they’ve been so busy the earliest install date was January.

I had another look into their reviews shortly before paying the deposit and I was a little concerned about a few recent bad reviews.
So I e-mailed them asking for a call to discuss and Carl explained all the issues raised and I was happy with the explanations.

I then paid the deposit and since then it’s been great.
We have had excellent communication throughout with ECH, my e-mails were responded to in good time and they called me back when requested.

We had 14 panels and a 5.2kw battery fitted delivered a couple of days before install and I am very impressed with both the install and the workmanship.
The engineers that installed the kit were very knowledgeable and always respectful of our house.

Overall I’d definitely recommend ECH Group to anyone who is interested in having a Solar kit installed.

From start to finish, Excellent!

Yesterday (10th January) we had a second battery added to the existing original PV and storage installation completed in June 2022. Not only was the price very competitive but the lead time was very good considering the current demand levels. The guys turned up late yesterday evening to complete the work despite their previous job being tricky due to the dismal rain soaked day yesterday. On arrival they were still cheerful and polite but also incredibly professional. No doubt their day finished later than they would have liked but they still saw it through and completed the install and kicked off the commission and calibration work. I did query their non arrival earlier during the day and ECH called me back within minutes of my email to reassure me they would be coming albeit later than anticipated. I would highly recommend ECH, Carl and his team have been exemplary on both the original install and yesterday's addition, plus they have upped their game on the communication side....my previous minor gripe.

ECH are clearly very busy and it can be frustrating not to speak to anyone or even have a site visit BUT they gave sufficient and honest advice by e-mail, they installed on the agreed day, the installation team were fantastic - on time, polite, efficient, cleared up their mess, answered my dumb questions. Most importantly it all seems to work so far (2 days in). Only black mark was some confusion over delivery of materials prior to work commencing. I am particularly pleased that despite it being January and not great weather, and having an East / West facing roof we seem to be generating lots of power - enough to power house and charge the battery. I have never ever had such a pleasurable purchase. ECH - Carl is genuine, sincere and honest. I bought solar PV approximately 2years ago. It is outstanding. Today I wanted to purchase a Solar battery for storage. Carl and ECH could have sold me a product that at this point in time I do not need. I will return to ECH in the future for batteries when my tariff changes. I very highly recommend ECH and their products. Anyone who wants to make a Solar purchase will not be disappointed by ask ECH for a quotation. If I could give 10 stars I would. Carl made me feel totally at ease. Within the first minutes of our conversation I knew he was the right person and I totally trust him and ECH.
The fitters who installed my system were very clever guys. There was no mess and they were extremely tidy. Fantastic.

The solar PV & battery industry is exploding and naturally businesses such as ECH are extremely busy. So long as you are aware from the outset that because of the turmoil in the industry they may not answer a phone immediately or at all sometimes, or take a day or two to answer an email, but we found that someone always replied/responded to us when they were able to given how hard they are all working right know.

This company are initially friendly and happy to answer your questions, albeit usually with single sentence responses, until you sign your contract and pay a deposit. Then their willingness to communicate drops right off.

My concerns were raised when they insisted a site visit would not be necessary. Thus my quote was presumably based solely upon what could be seen on the likes of Google Street View and therefore open to all sorts of last minute changes.

Come the day of installation, nobody showed up and nobody contacted me. I tried ringing, but even though their literature invites you to call them with any questions, all you ever get is a recorded message saying they don’t deal with phone calls.

My neighbour, who was due to get his installation from ECH the following day, was told their supplier could not deliver the parts, despite us signing our contracts over two months earlier.

Being left in the dark for two days, I emailed ECH to request a phone conversation in order to find out first hand what the problems were and when our installation might happen. Carl, the owner said he had space to call me in five days time!

Not surprisingly he never phoned.

My deposit was refunded at my request as I had no idea if and when they would fulfil their contract.

Three weeks on and they have never updated me or apologised for their very unprofessional service. Just a generic email to notify me that if I wish to proceed, the price of my installation has gone up £1000.

My advice to anybody looking to buy solar panels: There are plenty of good companies out there who offer a professional service; who are willing and able to communicate properly with their customers and are unlikely to waste three months of your time. ECH Group is just not one of them. Avoid.

I have given ECH Group Ltd. a 5 star review because, overall and despite some problems, this is what I feel they deserve. My initial contact with the company was great. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, explaining what type of Solar PV and battery system would be best for me and answering any questions I had immediately. Unfortunately, Covid, the global shortage of silicone chips, the global financial crisis and latterly the energy crisis seem to have made things difficult for both ECH and for me as their customer. From the broken cover of the battery unit to the installation problems noted by the GivEnergy engineer when he attended after my inverter failed, all of these have been eventually fixed/replaced.
My main disappointment has been with their communication and how it has impacted their customer care, with emails going unanswered and the removal of the ability to phone the company directly. However, I do understand why this has happened in our present global situation and I believe that GivEnergy accept that this is a problem and are doing their best to improve things.
The bottom line is, I am extremely happy with the advice given, the price I paid and the system quality and efficiency as it is now.

We got an estimated quote from these guys and wanted to proceed to an in person meet to discuss our needs and get a full quote and they no showed. I emailed the day before to confirm and got no reply. Very unprofessional company that I'll be avoiding.

Very neat work by Nick from ECH Group.
Helpful and knowledgeable on all my questions.
Inverter and battery fitted.
Clean the workplace and gone by 16.30h.
Only issue I have is that my micronverters stopped sending data to the Gateway.

I strongly advise against employing ECH. Their installation of panels, batteries and associated inverters was undertaken by an electrician who:
• Connected both panel and battery inverters to the consumer unit through a single 20amp trip when each should have gone through a dedicated trip; one of 20 amp the other 32amp!!!
• Misconnected the control wire from the battery to its inverter.
• Positioned the sensor clamp around the wrong cable in the meter box.
• Failed to install a generation meter.
It took ECH over 18 months to fully address these issues. The two honest and competent electricians who eventually attended to identify and address these faults were no longer employed by ECH a few days later.
ECH decline to provide a valid NIC EIC certificate for the installation, despite repeated requests. Similarly ECH decline to make good their erroneous submission to ESP (the governing authority) for a 3.6 kW installation, whereas a 5.0 kW approval is needed. I am trying to make good both deficiencies myself c/o the professional bodies that ECH claim to have membership. It may well cost me another £1,500 to gain approval from ESP.
If you live in the Salisbury area I’d recommend using Energy-Tec who have demonstrated reliability, competence and honesty.

ECH installed Solar PV and arranged installation of a battery with another company. In a word, they are excellent. Carl is very knowledgeable and competitive. The company that installed with battery is excellent as well. Highly recommended. There are some unfair reviews arising from shortages in the market and everyone wanting solar - my recommendation is that people need to be patient and understanding of the wider market.
