This company is conducting bad business and not responding to customer concerns. The store in Oakforest Il is by far the worst! I am just frustrated by the awful service that the assistant manager Tara delivers. She is rude! Tara need to be trained on how to deliver a pleasant customer shopping experience and how to do simple math!!!!

Employees Physically Attack Customers
Their employees physically attack customers over shoplifting insured goods instead of legally trespassing & calling the police. Their employee Austin did it around 08/20/2024, and they all condoned it. Especially Xavier. If merely accused, anyone could be attacked next. Family Dollar has a Zero Tolerance Policy for violence in the workplace, and that’s illegal. This is store #3813 in Yonkers.

Visited my local Family Dollar in Alabama, McGhee Rd location. And I must say the employees at this location are aways friendly, polite, and courteous. I just wanted to acknowledge their professionalism on the job. They really Welcome you with a Big smile as you enter the door. Made My Day, It was appreciated.
FD need to hire competent & A1 team-leaders
About 8 weeks ago at this location store # 400 112-C Village Rd., Ste 7 Leland, NC 28451. I walked into this family dollar to exchange a "broken" styrofoam cooler w/ a receipt and the female manager called the police and falsified that the customer (me) had threatened her & was irate; neither is true. The store Mgr. told me emphatically I could not exchange the merchandise that I had purchased the day before; I asked why b/c I had a receipt. She stated if it wasn't broken before I brought it then I was unable to exchange or get a refund. I asked for a policy that was different from having an original receipt to exchange or refund items w/ in 30 days and she refused. I also called law enforcement so they could have record that what was said was fabricated to get an officer to respond. They did come out, nothing happened (wasted tax dollars) & totally unnecessary, I had to exchange my merchandise at the Lanvale (family dollar) in Leland. Family dollar needs to hire a better team-leader at store # 400 112-C Village Rd., Ste 7 Leland, NC 28451...The worst customer experience ever!
Nasty clerk, useless clerk
I saw the label on the shelf for Red Baron pizza 4.95 when you purchased 2, the two I picked did not ring up at 4.95 so I asked the clerk to show me which item was on sale, she walked over to the refrigerator, I followed her I thought she was going to show me which two to buy, instead she ripped off the lable off the shelf with a lot of attitude and told me none of the pizzas where on sale for that price, I looked at the Pic of the sign I had taken and figured out that I had picked the wrong item, so I went back to the register with the correct pizzas and got my 4.95 each when you purchase 2, nasty woman don't know why they keep people like her, store clerks are supposed to help customers buy merchandise not discourage them from buying merchandise

I was making a purchase at the family…
I was making a purchase at the family Dollar on French road in cheektowaga. The clerk was completely rude. Some people do not belong customer facing and this woman would be one of them. She scanned a larger item that I was buying ... I proceeded to then put it in my bag to give her more room on the small counter and she then scolded me. I asked her why she was being so rude to me and she said "i have to be because you're messing with my system". I have never had anyone ever talk to me that way. I'm a 55-year-old woman who is polite and kind and gave this person no reason to speak to me in such a way. Ultimately I left the store because I will not purchase items or shop at a store with such horrible customer service. There are many other choices to shop and this regular customer to the store will no longer go there. Without customers, she does not have a paycheck. I'm not sure she understands that.
On June 15th 2024
On June 15th 2024, I went to Family Dollar: 8909 Two Notch Rd. Columbia SC 29223, store #10310. As I stated,on the day of June 15th @5:30 attempting to buy my husband a Father's Day card. As I was looking at the cards, three family dollar employees started arguing over a man. They proceeded to curse out loud calling each other terrible names. I walked up to the cashier to check out but she grabbed her purse and walked out. I asked the other employee if she could check me but her response was "I'm off the clock " she continued with,"you all will need to go to another family dollar store, there's no one here to check ya'll out". I asked for a manager but the third employee said that there wasn't a manager there. About five minutes later a female walked in and told everyone in the store to leave. I asked who she was, she stated that she was the manager. I asked if she could cash us out, her response was "I'm off today!"

This is for the Family Dollar on west combs st in Alvin Tx.This entire store and every employee especially managers should be ashamed of themselves in every aspect.I just witnessed a mentally ill transsexual employee verbally abusing a very elderly man for calling HIM sir instead of maam which HE very clearly was not.The so called manager was standing right there the entire time and said nothing to this disgusting excuse for a human..It is a sad world we live in today
Don't expect help
I purchased many items & I submitted reusable bags. When I gave the bags to the employee she told me to put the items into the bags myself. Besides it being her job, I am 78 & their carts can't go outside so I had to carry all on my shoulder, arms and hands. I was offended & told her that I had to carry out all the bags & she should put the items in the bag .
p.s. She also did not offer to help!
Bad service
They sell spoiled milk,bad eggs etc but I never complained. Then yesterday I got 6pks cigarettes, she gave me wrong ones,her fault,she didn't ring up ones I asked for. I asked to exchange for right ones,I never left the store she said no sorry can't do it. Been going wendell nc family dollar for 5yrs, never once complained. But this is ridiculous. If I saw the cigarettes I would of said something but I told her which ones and I didn't watch wjen she threw them in a bag.

Store at 4226 Washington Rd, East Point, Ga. Male manager berates customers AND sales associates. Put a sign up today stating 'respect. Even a dog deserves it'. This AFTER I witnessed him demean a cashier in front of SEVERAL customers. And treated customer as stupid. Customers behind me voiced disgust at his ever-present negative attitude, will not get in his line ( even if it means waiting for another cashier), have commented ' his attitude probably explains why the windows keep getting shot out'. Have ignored this problem long enough. Yes, people deserve respect. And most of the patrons I've encountered are respectful, but DISGUSTED.
I let it be known I was contacting customer relations. Something must be done.

Cimarron, NM. Checker went out of his way to pack items well. Other employee took my items that I bought out to the car and placed them nicely. Then she offered to also put my walker in the car. Now I call that going the extra mile.
Poor poor customer and employee service and management
After reading some of the reviews left by consumers, I realize that my experience is just one in many dollar general failures. The staff is notably untrained and unprepared. Just waited for 30 minutes with only two customers in front of me because the “new” cash machines were “slow”. The employee although apologetic, had the attitude of oh well it’s not my fault. Another cash machine stood there unused and when asked to why that one was not being used, the reply was “it does the same thing. It gets “stuck” while ringing up merchandise and then will kick in after 15 to 30 minutes. She stated that this happened yesterday as well and that management was aware. Management didn’t care she stated and these new machines were having to “work themselves into working correctly”. Crazy in my opinion and what a way to drive away potential and current customers. Where was management by the way, she was the only employee to be seen in the store. No wonder dollar general has a high shoplift rate and huge employee turn over. And may I add instead of redecorating the store, why not educate your employees and make your managers accountable for the work environment and customer experience. A never again to be seen at dollar general past customer.

Going to family dollar many times a month for toilet paper and other odd ends my mom purchased a bathing suit for my daughter they left the theft tag on it and when she went back to have them take it off the accused her of stealing really she came in the door went right to the counter with it in a bag. To top.it off mom told the manager about who all was at the store when she purchased and she didn't care this lady stated I was here that day we don't sell this item even though it has your tag on the piece get real. Then when mom was walking out of the store there was a lady who was walking out with items in her pocket that she stole the manager didn't care about that.

I visit the store at 5043 N Crescent Blvd Pennsauken NJ 08110 and the employees there are great. However, due to recent closing of nearby Family Dollar Stores there have been a significant increase in theft. The employees are not equipped nor are they security guards to handle the amount of thefts and disrespect that they face constantly and it’s not fair to the customers who do pay for every item they purchase. My suggestion is to hire at least a security guard and/or a buzzer to allow customers to exit with the click of a button therefore stopping the thieves before they exit the store. There is not enough staffing to take care of honest paying customers and to catch people who steals.
I tried to return a pizza cutter
I tried to return a pizza cutter which was only 4 dollars. I purchased it on my EBT card, got home and realized I didn't need it. I returned 10 days later, not used and still in its packaging. When I tried to return it, I was told they couldn't refund it and that only food that is purchased on a EBT card can be refunded. I gave them back the pizza cutter and walked out. I don't care about the 4 dollars. The fact is that every store you go into does refund your money providing it is in its original condition and packaging. I guess 'Family Dollar ' does NOT!
