Treated horribly in Elkview WV. There ya go. I'm not writing the whole story. I'll just not ever go back there. They treat customers like trash. You need to fire, and hire a new employee. I'm still mad at 2:00am. I've never had a problem there in 10 years. I regret spending so much money there now.
Disrespectful customer service
Purchase about $70 worth of items. Deceived I did not want the pistachio’s and was told to put them back. I politely tossed them on the shelf under where the pistachios were and the cashier threw my receipt on the floor. First off, it’s not my job to place items back, that is why I kindly pushed them to the side so they could restock them as needed. I file a complaint online 3 days ago, still waiting on a call back.

On the 3rd of April I ordered the stackable planters for a gift. It is now the 15th and they refuse to cancel my order because it's still not at the store and they said they have to wait 10 days after ordering. I said it's been much more than 10 days and they said they don't consider the weekends even though mail goes on Saturday nor do they consider the first day that you order which is just an excuse if you ask me. I told them if I don't receive that email that it has got to the store by this coming Wednesday night when I go to bed then on Thursday I'm canceling if they won't do it then I'm contacting PayPal and anybody else that I can to stop the payment. This is ridiculous that you have to wait well over half a month to get something sent to the store and that they won't refund your money. I just recently started to go into the store but it will be the last time that myself or any of my family buys anything from them. They aren't customer oriented at all and I refuse to spend another dime there.

I was in the family dollar dollar tree in Washington in kokomo indiana. I was talking to 1 employee who said I can make separate purchases on same item I got to the register and told the young gentleman. I wanted my purchases rang up individual separate. He proceeded to ring them all up. I said sir I said 1 at a time individual. He Said I don't understand. I said ring up 1 item I pay for it then start with the next. He said he did not understand. I said how clear do I have to make it. A gal walked up and Said I was being rude. I Saud I don't see how I am. I was trying to explain that ringing individual is Separate. So told me to leave the store I walked back in to talk to tge manager she stated that they don't ring things up individual it's all together. The manager said the kid knew his job. I tried to tell her and the manager kicked me out of tge store.

Prices on the shelf are different from what the item rings up. Then just because they don’t know what they’re doing they talk to you like you’re stupid to cover up their mistakes. I got 2 1.25 litters of coke at family dollar the shelf said 2 for $2.50 the total with a bag came $3.23 I questioned it I said I thought they were 2 for $2.50 and told them that’s what the shelf said. The one that waited on me said they were 2 for $3.00 that’s not what the shelf said another one behind the counter said it took off the 60 cents and then there’s a five cent charge for the bag and then tax. Don’t talk to me like I’m stupid to cover up the fact that you’re not doing your job. I’m aware of the bag fee and the tax. The shelf said 2 for $2.50 and you’re suppose to charge the price you have displayed by law. $2.50 plus tax is about 13 cents which would make it $2.63 and the nickel for the bag would make it $2.68. I had $2.69 on my card which would have been enough. But because I was charged different from what the shelf read I used my card for what I had on it which was $2.69 and I owed a forty some cent difference which I was getting pennies out of my pocket to pay the difference and a customer behind me paid the difference which was embarrassing but I guess she didn’t want to wait. If they would do their jobs and make sure the prices on the shelves are correct that wouldn’t of happened. Cause if it said 2 for $3.00 I would’ve only brought up one. But don’t not do you’re job then talk to the customers like they’re stupid and say you have tax and a bag fee. I’m well aware of taxes and a bag fee I’m not a child. But it didn’t ring up $2.50 plus tax like the shelf said it rang up $3.00 plus tax. And by law you’re suppose to give the customer the price that’s advertised plus I think it’s real convenient that I can’t get ahold of anyone by phone. I was only able to submit my complaint this way and I know why. When you respond back to me if you respond back to me you can take you’re time and think about what you’re going to say. And on the phone you can slip and say something that maybe you shouldn’t of said. I’m not stupid I know what you guys are doing. Ps this particular location has a phony sale going on right now on family size utz potato chips. The sale sign says $3.50 each or two for $7.00 must by two. News flash that is not a sale if I by one bag today for $3.50 and one bag tomorrow for $3.50 it still comes out to the same $7.00 plus tax.

This store is like a bad episode of gossip girls. They harass and make fun of customers, even bully them (shoulder checks, side swipes and very attacking comments) They steal and give free items to their boyfriends and family. Too busy with drama to do stalk. Made me feel so uncomfortable I don't go anymore, I also know people who quit because of the bad work environment. Use to be a good place. Nelsonville, OH
"Bad Management For Sure"
I live in a small town where it's about a 30 min. drive to all major retailers. In this small town (Crawfordville, GA) we do have a couple stores to help out. Family Dollar/Dollar tree is one of those stores. Everyone was excited when they open, you could get certain items you needed without driving an hour over all for something. The store after 6 months began to go downhill, isles where full of stock not put on shelves, the employees spend their time outside on phones or smoking rather than keeping shelves stocked and aisles cleaned. Certain staff members refused to control their foul language regardless of if a customer was standing there or not. Store is a total mess, bad management, poor customer service, no way to move around to see shelves, sometimes you have to push full carts of stock out of the way to even go down an aisle. Store sure wasn't handicap acceptable. Over charging for items that are listed in weekly ads, you send an experience to corporate you get no response either. Family Dollar not what it used to be. Too much push to keep up with Dollar General in my opinion. Everywhere you see Dollar General it seems Family Dollar got to be there also. Now this store is among one of the 1000 stores on their list to close. You would have thought they would listen to customers complaints and do something about it instead of closing a store in a small town that really needs it.

I went to your store in Roberta Ga to see if you might have a USB Flex Drive. The guy who was working there and in much need of extreme hygiene care, snapped at me that he didn't know what that was. I said that it was a storage device to which he snapped I don't know what that is. Then he said you mean a USB Flex Drive, exactly what I had asked for . Before I could answer he said we don't have one to which I left. He walked over to the corner of the building and told another employee in a voice load enough for me to hear as I'm walking out "talking about a bad attitude" and some other non understandable language references. I did not go back to confront him to save myself the trouble his type and class causes. I know that this store has little business and I don't understand how it is kept open but this may be an indicator of a public perception due to this type of employee. I only wanted a stick drive not an experience with a mouthy low class employee.

I went there to get a dog harness and the product was advertised for a dollar. The head manager refused to sell the price as advertised Christian Garro is horrible, she should not be a manager she should be aware of policy, it was more than one item in that place there at that price, and she would not sell the item at that price, and she wouldn't let her employee that was there at the time, handle it as she was supposed to. It just really upsets me, because I've been in the retail business, and I know how it works, and I just can't wait for Christina to read this. So she know that she needs to go back and take some classes and listen to policy. And then if you don't want to sell the item for that price, I suggest that you go walk around the whole store and make sure everything is in his rightful place and price. They have no way for you to get a human when you are trying to file a complaint as if they are trying to not take accountability for how their staff treats their customers. I tried to file the complaint on the computer through their little automated system, never received a call never received an email back stating that they will address the situation, I have pictures, I upload the pictures to prove what was going on in the store still no response back from management, I just think it's very ridiculous in the way that they treat people, especially when you go in there and spend your hard earned money on the regular.
Family Dollar and Dollar Tree Websites
This is about the Family Dollar website and it's affiliated store, Dollar Tree's website. First, for at least the past year I've tried to log in to the Dollar Tree website where it gives me the opportunity and then takes it away in less than a second. On April 18, 2023, their Support Team said in an email this was a known issue and to please give them a grace period. Today's January 22, 2024 and the website is giving me the same problem.
Today, on the Family Dollar website and after signing in, I went to their Deals category. These deals claim to be available for ordering online either to pickup in store or ship to home. After selecting a few items that I would be interested in, there was no way to select a quantity nor, would the "Add to Cart" function work. Their options to "Pick up in Store" or "Ship to Home" also would not work. Some items are available from some "store" but they don't tell you which store. Maybe you have to try every zip code that has a Family Dollar Store. This has also been going on for at least a year. In addition, several months back I tried their app and I still couldn't achieve my goals. My suggestion to all retailer's who offer online services on their website or offer an app is to test them out. Your losing a lot of business from those of us who likes the online shopping.
