AVOID this company at all costs

AVOID at all costs! Scammers with a misleading UK email address but based in South America. Electronic boxing toy ordered but wildly differed to the advertised pictures showing it to be big and robust. Turned out to be small plastic piece of crap with tinny sounds and not fit for purpose as something for your hand to hit as a boxing toy. We demanded a refund. Denied. They then offered a 50% refund - as if paying £45 for a piece of useless plastic rubbish was fair? Went through PayPal and was turned down after their labyrinthine process of uploading evidence which cost more of my time than the £85 for the shitty item. AVOID this company or regret it.

Don't waste your money.

I'm only giving one star as there's no option to give zero. I bought a reversing camera for my motorhome, which didn't work with either of the recommended apps, I contacted the company and over a few months they asked me the same questions, back and forth the emails went, until I asked for a new camera or refund and they said I'd bought the camera months ago so they'd give me neither. Cowboys.

Really regret my order

Really regret my order. I bought the robot mop and it’s quality is appalling. Refused to accept my return in the first instance and then when they finally did (several emails later and this is when the item was completely unused) you have to pay the postage back to China. Left feeling completely scammed.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

If I could choose below one star I would. I bought a dog tracker on behalf of my 89 year-old mother to give her peace of mind when her dog is out with the dog walker. It was advertised as a product that allows you to be worry free as your dog explores. However, it disconnects as soon as you move two metres away from it. I requested a return and refund, and after a number of emails was finally offered a credit note, which is of no use given the item doesn’t do what it was supposed to do. The product was not fit for purpose and the response appalling. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY.

This company is a disgrace , when this company sends you a different product than the one advertised get in contact with the police fraud office and get a crime number , it is illegal to do this , it is called bait and switch , when you have done this escalate the complaint immediately , I got about a 40% refund from the crap they sent me and tell as many people as possible about these crooked web sites

Inferior Product and Scammed out of providing a Refund

Do not buy from this company. I ordered the plasma ball which, when it arrived, was an inferior version of a plasma ball which bore no resemblance to the image on the website. The product was also damaged with a loose wire in the base of the product.

Having contacted the "customer service" email address to return the product I was then firstly lied to, saying that I couldn't return the item. They then tried to convince me to accept a much smaller 10% refund. Then strung the process out for weeks and made it as difficult as possible to return the item (no return address is provided until they email the return label to you). After I stuck to my guns and returned the item and they had strung out the process are far as possible, they then advised that the return had been processed however over 6 weeks later the refund was still not received and I had to pursue a refund via Paypal.

I'd recommend not buying from Gear Tech unless you want to be strung along and scammed with inferior products. As far as I can tell from my experience their whole business model is to send cheap inferior products that have been mis-advertised, then hope that people either accept the product or dont know their rights regarding returns/refunds so that they can avoid giving any refunds.

i think scamers i cancelled an order £39 but had no refund, contacted paypal niether of them have helped me,i am disabled military veteran ,niether of these organisations care.

Settle down for a lengthy read.

Settle down for a long read.. No apologies. It may be worthwhile? Like others, I fell foul of this company. I didn't excise due diligence. I would be highly suspicious of any positive reviews anywhere about gear-tech. I ordered 2 x 8TB External HDD on the 17th Jan 2026. I hadn't read reviews on here (I usually do!). Anyway, I soon realised that, the website was a scam;due to 95%+ negative reviews. I wasn't aware they had featured on 'Rip Off Britain' either- thanks for sharing that on here-. I did a load of research afterwards and started an email exchange with Billy Scumbag through my PayPal account. First email was to cancel the order and request a refund (as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015). To cut a long story short, 24 emails later PayPal got me a full refund within 10 seconds of escalating my case. No complaints with PayPal but, I do recommend that -if you decide to cancel- do it quick. Enter into an email process with this scumbag (mine was called Ivan R -but that could be a load of sh!te). Anyway, save all your emails as this is your evidence that you've tried to resolve it and that, the scumbag doesn't intend to part with your money. DON'T ACCEPT PARTIAL REFUNDS. As the process went on, I was offered 20%... He wriggled and wriggled and put all kinds of negatives my way like, I'd have to pay for costly international return postage/it might get lost in the post and that would be my fault and he couldn't give me a refund/the best one was he's not subject to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (because he’s not based in the UK) and lots and lots of other bullsh!t excuses to put me off so he could keep my money. NOTE: It doesn't matter where the website is, if he's doing business in the UK to UK customers then, he's subject to our Consumer Protection Laws -fact!- Some of his emails were excruciatingly long. As if they were 'stock' email he uses to labour the process along in his favour. I matched his emails with equally long emails. With ad-hoc bits of law in them that I'd got from all over the place (don't make him feel that he's dealing with a mug) About 2 days before I got my full refund (Yes! A full refund)... I sensed that I was getting somewhere because, his offer went from 20% to 50% -and, he said, I get to keep the goods-. Now what this did was absolutely confirm that he was a scammer with a scam website; bonafide websites never enter into such processes do they? (The website I'll come to in a minute). I didn't cut off the email exchange too early;in my view that's a mistake- it's a lengthy process you just have to go through-. I was beginning to enjoy it. After about, almost, 2 weeks, I sent him a 'FORMAL COMPLAINT'... at the end of this email I gave him an ultimatum as to when I wanted my refund (I gave him a cut-off-date)… this is important! This seals the deal (not with him but, with your card issuer). There’s no point in going any further and you can then escalate your case with your credit card/debit card provider or PayPal. And, you have a raft of evidential emails supporting you. Anyway, whilst I had some downtime and, having some website building knowledge (and some excellent stuff gleaned from Trustpilot) I started to de-construct his website. It's too long to go into here but, my guess is gear-take [sic] is a one-man-band. He has no 'About' page. This would have named people on it -officers of the business-, There's no address -there should be-, no complaints procedure. His DNS is ‘Shopify’ -Scum-. I sent a cancellation order via his website email; if there was anyone else in the business I would get a reply from a different person in a different department maybe? I didn't, it was the same scumbag! The two addresses mentioned on the website are false; one is situated at 4PX/Prologis warehouse in Dunstable (guess what, they ship from China and have a load of EvRI courier trucks on their site); and the other address is 'PhysicalAddress.Com' in Dallas -on Google Maps, it looks like a back-street garage-. Research PhysicalAddress.Com and you will find that they provide scammers with all kinds of untraceable connections. Rip Off Britain call the website -gear-tech- a 'Drop Ship Business'... Billy Scumbag buys his stuff on Alibaba semi-wholesale... inflates the prices by huge percentages. He has no process to deal with complaints, returns, or refunds... that would just be a hassle in his 'hassle free returns' system. Anyway I did offer to return my stuff back to him at a UK address but he didn't reply. I wasn't going to either because, when applying for my refund through my PayPal account my maths wasn't too good and I applied for a full refund of £53.98p. I had actually paid £53.99p... I'm out-of-pocket by 1p. This means I can't return the goods now because, in law, I'm a part-owner! He won't refund me. I hope I've made you all chuckle... Scumbags... Don't you just hate em..

I’m extremely disappointed with Gear…

I’m extremely disappointed with Gear Tech’s after-sales support. I ordered three XMotion Bird Sensors in August 2025, and all of them failed within just a few months of normal use. When I contacted customer service, the support I received from Martina was unhelpful and dismissive, and my request for a replacement or refund was refused despite the obvious product faults. This level of reliability and customer care is shocking and far below what I would expect. I would not recommend Gear Tech based on this experience.

SCAM - Do not use !"

SCAM. What is delivered will be poor quality from China and nothing at all like the item show on the website. I spent £100 on a walking-stick and received something listed for £10 on Temu that did not match the description at all. Return/refund not offered but finally got an address (invalid) in the USA - WTF!

I’m writing another review

I’m writing another review, as having looked my first review has been removed! Suprise suprise!! DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A BARGE POLE!!! It is a scam company that promise you can return goods if they are faulty!!! However what they do not say is, you can return them, but with much difficulty !!
They put every obstacle in the way, they make up things as they go along ( their rules!) I put a dispute in with PayPal, that failed, the product doesn’t work and they are now avoiding me saying they cannot get involved as I put a dispute in with PayPal! They claim they are based in the UK! PLEASE BE AWARE THEY ARE NOT THEY ARE IN CHINA!!!! I am going to contact citizen advice and get them to contact Trading standards! If all fails I will contact the police to see what I can do to get my money back from these awful people scamming money from us!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Minus stars. Very Bad supplier. Do not order from this company. I ordered heated jacket following measurements on site. Unlike some reviewers, my order did arrive. Totally incorrect sizing. Tried seeking refund and they make it very difficult. Very clear they don't want to refund. Wish I had read reviews on Trust Pilot. Lesson learned.

They are thieves

They are thieves, plain and simple. They are pretending to be G-tech and they sell low-quality rubbish for inflated prices. They do not accept returns because they are conmen. Buyer beware!

Refused Refund

I bought a Bladeless Fan which was poor quality, and not "quiet" as advertised.
The seller refused to give a refund, despite my complaint being done during the 14 day distance purchasing regulations.
My credit card company also refused to refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. The Ombudsman has explained that this is because payment wasn't made directly to the seller, but through PayPal. They are obviously using a loophole in the law!
You have been warned.

Was totally scammed

Was totally scammed - '3-in-1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner' thinking it was G-tech from U.K. but It is from China (my mistake).
Apart from not working, it is not even a vacum, it is a bakelite box. Completely refuses any responsibility and will not return my money - they are an absolute disgrace. If you are sensible enought to look at this, be sensible enough not to touch this company with a barge pole!

DO NOT purchase anything from this company

Please DO NOT purchase anything from this company! The RC helicopter I purchase from them malfunctioned within two hours of use. They refused to replace the item or refund my money. The reason given was that it was a discounted item and they do not refund discounted items.

I wish I had read these reviews before I got involved with GearTech. I had not heard from them and emailed to ask if the item had shipped, because if not I would cancel it, because it was too late for my brothers birthday. They said it had not shipped, so within 1 minute I replied to ask them to cancel. They then replied to say it had already shipped. This was already worrying. When I received it, I asked to return it (the same day, i.e. within 14 days) and they declined. I sent it back anyway and after 6 weeks of asking, they still have my money.
