Very poor and staff were rude and the place was not clean dirty cups and rays left on tables with I took it on myself to clear the table where we were sitting served coffee with a broken saucer, took it to the counter and showed it to one of the girls who changed without even an apology,I complained to head office about the place and staff and was sent a £5.00 gift card as an apology my letter which sent under recorded delivery costed more to me and that I got a response is that they woud make sure they action.

Never drink there again twice now had bad tummy ache after drinking coffee. They never keep things clean and lots of cross contamination of milks .they use same jug for all milks including vegan milk .places in Hempstead Valley in side and out side they all the same

Second time now within 2 months of visiting necton rudge shop on route to Norfolk inside again bins overflowing tables not cleaned. When the girl came to empty the bins her attire was something else yes she had a Costa tee shirt on but her white trainers were covered in a brown like substance like she had just cleaned a cow shed out not the look customers expecting to see while drinking there coffee and eating food

Would put -5 if possible

Took the money as per my last review but now even more annoyed as I managed to find a contact number for ‘customer support’ to be given a recorded message. Costa have ‘closed’ their phone lines - told I cannot contact them - look at FAQs. Or fill in a form!! 4 forms later no response

Do not get scammed - don’t buy a gift card!!

Standards have declined. Staff are quite often rude or not friendly and slow service . The cleanliness is poor and feels a bit grubby. Use to be my go to. I have seen reports that their decline is due to other competition but I think it's down to poor management. People speak with their feet.. clean up your act guys.

Coffee so hot it burnt my mouth. Staff were dismissive and patronising. No apology or offer of help.
No telephone number to call and no adequate email address so impossible to get customer service. I will never use this shop again and advise others to avoid it.

Just visited the Chelmer Village branch and noticed the Toastie and coffee lunch deal for £5.99. which I thought was a really good offer. However being partially sighted I couldn't see the small print which makes it a con trick as you must have the ham and cheese sandwich no choice. When I questioned this the staff were abrupt to the point of rudeness and I was told to speak to the manager ,who was away on holiday apparently. If you're golng to do special deals at least make them transparent to everyone and perhaps give more training to the slovenly staff in customer relations

Recent newspaper articles curiously avoid any mention of the beginning of Costa's predictable demise in 2023 when Philippe Schaillee (CEO) doubled down on supporting jolly mastectomies for young women! That's when many people (my family included) voted with their wallets and started avoiding Costa outlets and vending machines like the plague. Philippe Ski Chalet should have stuck to just shifting coffee and spared us his sanctimonious, poisonous ideology. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Newton abbot deven. I asked for a large cappuccino for a takeaway the girl put it in to a China cup for drink in the the other girl said no its a takeaway so she poured it into a takeaway cup I havnt a clue what she done but the taste was bad very bad I feel very sick writing this.

Costa coffee jct27 Birstall. I know its hot and the end of the day but there is still an hour to go until you close at 6pm.Stokd waiting to order whilst 2 members of staff totally ignored me waiting to be served. Thought it was quiet in there. New business strategy of how to make customers go away?

Costa Minworth ,Birmingham , Pleasant surroundings and not busy , the lady making the coffee warm and helpful but the lady taking the orders with what sounded like a south african type accent ( no receipt given unable to tell you her name ) 10:30am 10/08/25 visited, seemed totally disinterested, it would be helpful if someone could point out to her that her sighs were a little to loud and in your face , and not received same service as person before me , that does not sit right with me.

I called at the costa on Birminghams new street station on Wednesday morning before going to catch my train, a young man servered me i think his name was Jake. He was very polite, happy and professional and I didn't have to wait long for my purchase it was a pleasure talking to someone who obviously enjoys his job. Would definitely recommend this costa to anyone 👌

It doesn’t matter what branch of Costa I visit I always become dissatisfied with the fact that it doesn’t matter how many staff are working on that day they seem to think that clearing/cleaning the tables are not part of their duties??
It’s a real shame because other than that it’s a great cup of coffee!!

Costa coffee shop in Cleveland Centre Middlesbrough. I had been sat drinking coffee inside Costa, when a male member of staff entered Costa, telling his colleague behind the counter that he was late due to the heavy traffic. Then this member of staff got behind the counter and immediately began handling food ie making toast for a customer, without having washed his hands first! This is not hygienic! Also want to mention that I was sat next to the shelving which had the cakes etc and I could see what looked like lots of old cake crumbs of the surface ....looks like this part had not been wiped with a clean cloth with disinfectant.

Too busy, no staff, no cleared tables long queues. Why have we drifted into a coffee culture that says relax and enjoy but we stand, queue, wait, collect our own food and drinks clean and clear previous waste from our tables. The worse realisation of relax to thinking, this just ain't right. It's not a new thing, since it's sale to coca cola or USA. Its just bad

Dirty floors, dirty tables, empties not cleared away for hours and toilets disgusting (didn’t look like they have been cleaned for months).

Went in for a coffee and cake on a Saturday morning. Having made my selection of cake I was told that particular cake was stale and they could not serve to me. As my coffee had already been made I chose an alternate cake. When I sat down to enjoy my drink and cake found it was inedible as was rock hard!! The shop was busy and only one member of staff was working! When I got the chance advised the cake I had was stale an inedible! No apology no offer of a new cake and no offer of a refund! I tried calling the main Costa number to find it’s permanently closed and no longer supported so mailed instead! No surprise no response from them! Totally unacceptable £7-00 for a drink and cake which could not be consumed!!! Totally disgraceful. Spalding Hall Place get your act together!

I come into the Thorpe Bay branch regularly, a couple of times a week with a disabled companion in a wheelchair on a busy lunchtime & sometimes by myself! The staff are always lovely, friendly & very helpful, even though they're run off their feet! We always get help with opening the door etc. The food & drink is always presented just how we like it. Would highly recommend!
